This is a solid product and it does what a 1.5 hp router supposed to do. I got this along with the Ryobi table and it makes life easier 10 fold. The LED light really lights up the routing area. This is a great product for the weekend DIY'er. PROS look elsewhere.

I bought this routor for use around the house i find it works well could use more power. And better bits the seem to ware out fast but over all its works well.

I have the older model without the LED lights and it is still going strong after some really hard usage! I would buy another one, but this one is still going strong. It was a real surprise for the money!

Overall I am very pleased with the router and love the LED lights.
The only drawback is the LED lights don't turn on until the router is turned on. It would be better if the lights were on as long as the router was plugged in.

the Ryobi 163K router is a great tool and works just fine. it would be nice if Ryobi offered an accessory base plate in order to fit standard template bushings. other than that it is a fine tool for anyone's workshop

Bought Ryobi assuming quality, I was wrong. 6 Months after my purchase the bearings are shot. I no longer have the receipt so no warranty repair. I will never purchase a Ryobi product again.

I am not a full time contractor or carpenter but I am more than the weekend DIY. I have been woodworking since I could hold a saw, almost 30 years ago. All together I have 7 Ryobi power tools. I bought the Ryobi router and table 8 years ago and it was junk! I took it back and got another Ryobi junk router. It would not hold a bit (bit would slide out while cutting), depth set lock would not hold the setting and the motor came apart on me one time and almost took off my fingers, and that’s not even the problems that I have had with the table. I just got the new router and I must say it is 100% better! It is not pro grade but defiantly worth the money. I am still using the old table but the router itself has none of the issues I had with the old one. I also like the addition of the light and the new depth set mechanism is a huge upgrade. Hopefully the motor will stay together on this one.

I've never used a router or any other woodworking tool before in my life until a few weeks ago. I have a great bunch of guys I worked with in Harfford County that inspired me to take up woodworking and who insisted I get a router to move to the next level - lol. Well, I did some research and having heard of the Ryobi brand previously, I settled on this little buddy. I LOVE it! This thing's been eating wood for the last week or so and it shows no signs of stopping. It's kind of noisey, enough where you'll need to wear earplugs. The price was excellent for such a great product. I picked up two bits that were a tab bit pricey, BUT, they were well worth it.

I use this tool for general purpose shop and field work. The 4 stars are accurate for this tool. I recommend Ryobi for the money spent. If this router had a light like my old Crafsman it would be even better. Buy it and feel confident in your choise.

I've had this sitting around and I finally got around to using this router. This is a great general purpose router. Very smooth and clean cuts on pine trim. It seems to have plenty of power. You just can't go wrong with this one at this pice.
