I LOVE this Refrigerator!

This 'frig is wonderful! The water/ice filter provides great tasting water/ice. The spacious crisper bins and deli bin are a welcome bonus. A bit of playing with the shelves and door shelves produced a perfect refrigerator for us. We have had nothing but success with the panel, it has come in handy with the very hot summer we've had. If we are entertaining (knowing there will be lots of open/close) I can easily lower the temp and quickly make ice. We have friends who have purchased the french door style of other brands who wished they had our LG.

We were very excited to get this refrigerator. It was a bit pricey, but loaded with features, so we thought it was worth it. We have had it since October 2006, and unfortunately it has been nothing but trouble.
The digital readout often goes blank then displays an error code. It has to be unplugged for a number of minutes in order to become operational again. I was trying to get ice once and it beeped, all the readout lights went on, and it started dumping out all the ice from the ice maker even after I pulled my glass away.
The Turbo Ice feature seemed really great. It is supposed to make ice very quickly for parties, etc. However, turning it on has the opposite effect. All the ice melts and makes a mess.
The freezer also makes odd whirring sounds then stops working periodically and wastes a lot of food. LG reimbursed us for some of it, but it happens so often now that its a hassle just to go through the process.
We have had five service calls now. A fan was replaced twice, the computer panel was replaced, and now, since the ice maker is not working at all, they have ordered a new one of those too. However, we have to wait 30 days to get it!
Now we just wish we could get a replacement or an entirely new fridge. Unfortunately, I think we are stuck. All the repairs are under warranty and the service calls have been prompt. It has just been a major disappointment.

My husband and I had been looking at refrigerators for about a year as the house we bought had an old side-by-side that was on it's last leg. We knew we DID NOT want another side-by-side as things tend to get buried in the back of the fridge and freezer. The only bonus to the side-by-side is the ice and water through the door.
LG & Kenmore both came out with models that offered a French door top, bottom drawer freezer and ice and water through the door. We looked at the Kenmore, but when we compared quality and price, the LG won hands down. It took quite a while to get the fridge, but we couldn't be happier with our choice.
The fridge is pricey but as with most things, you get what you pay for.
*Notes:
-The white fridge has satin nickel/chrome colored handles.
-We also bought the matching tall-tub LG dishwasher as our old one leaked. A very nice unit as well.

I never thought I would spend over $1000 on a refrigerator, but it is well worth every penny! I love the "deli tray" & the larger crisper drawers. The doors hold up to 6 gallon jugs. The shelves are too close together to fit taller items, so we just took one of the shelves out & re-arranged them to fit our needs. It is so versitile that it can accomodate any family. The freezer also holds alot more than the average freezer. I also like the door alarm to let me know when my 5-year old has been in there & left the door open! :-)
Space is great. It runs quietly. It looks good. No complaints so far!

Spacious fridge...Ice/Water Dispenser small

Having this french door refrigerator allows more space than the side-by-side fridge/freezer. I believe the refrigerator allows more space for vegetables and refrigerator products because the ice dispenser is built into the door rather than taking up valuable fridge space. The only negative feature was the ice/water dispenser. Only small to medium size glasses will fit in this area unless tilted. In order to fill a large glass, you must tilt glass in the area and press the water/ice button in rear because the glass will not be able to fit. Despite this flaw, the refrigerator is very nice.

I have purchased the LG french door refrigerator. It has the convience of top side by side doors which allows you to have large items in the refrigerator. The freezer is so convient with it's pull out drawer. I would highly recommend this unit for purchase. I would rate this unit with 5 stars.
