I purchase this waster about one month ago and I could not be happier. Front loading washers are the way to go. My clothes are dryer coming out of the washer than my old washer/dryer after drying for one hour. Washing time is a bit longer than my old top loader but the shorter drying time more than makes up the difference. I hope I will never need another washer but if I do I would not hesitate to purchase another front loading washer and specifically a LG front loading washer.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I am a mother of 4 busy boys and a husband which means I have A LOT of laundry! The washer and gas dryer were delivered 4 days ago and I wish I would have got them 4 years ago. I love all of the cycle options and it holds soooo much laundry. It is a little expensive but very much worth it. The pedestals will be delivered in 2 days. I think it will be great to have a place to hide the laundry soap and dryer sheets etc. I would recommend this set to anyone!

We did allot of research on this. The TROMM Steam Washer topped just about every category we looked into. That's fine on paper but how will it work at home? GREAT! We love the quality of workmanship, all the bells and whistles, and most importantly, it's performance. We also purchased the matching dryer and along with the pedestals to go with both of them. For almost $2K for the pair (without pedestals), you'd better do your research on both washers and dryers and I know you'll come to the same conclusions we did. This is the best washer we've ever owned (dryer too.)

I have had this washer since last January. My clothes come out so clean and practically dry. It spins so fast that my bath towels are hanging from the top of the drum. My electric bills are lower because the clothes are barely wet. I don't regret buying this, I just wished I had bought it earlier. BUY IT< YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!

we bought the matching pair to replace a 20year old mis matched set that had been repeatedly repaired. i simply wanted the ability to wash my king comforters properly at home. boy did we get mor than we bargained for.... i love them you couldnt pay me to part with them. they are so much quieter they have any feature you could want and i have found a use for all of them and just in the last month from july to august we have seen our water bill go from 4100 gals a month to 3500 a month and the only thing that is different is this washer and dryer. also our electric bill was also lower. in addition, the delivery men were great and they made sure that they were level and worked before they left my home. i could go on and on but you get the point, if you are thinking about the LG just do it they are so worth it.

I washed two blankets after the guys from Home Depot delivered and setup my washer. I gotta tell all of you who read this, get it without delay. This washer washed both my blankets and they were extremly clean, like it's sister washer which is just as good as this one with the only difference is the spin cycle. This one spins at 1200 rpm and the other steamwasher spins at 1320 rpm
This and it's sister washer are extremely highly rated from consumer reports magazine. Read it yourself and you deceide for yourself.
Just remember, whenever you just use the steam fresh cycle, get your Iron ready when you take your delicates out. Because your clothes will not be 100% wrinkle free.

I've had mine for 3 months, now. I have read lots of reviews before actually deciding on this washing machine. If you have an old (10 yrs or older) washing machine. This one is so quiet compared to those. At first I kept going into the laundry room to check to see if it was still working. I was used to hearing the old machine during the whole cycle. It does seem to get my clothes cleaner, and the tub is large enough for a regular king size comforter. We have an oversized king comforter, and it will not fit. I haven't noticed any vibrating, but it sits on a concrete slab, so that is probably why. It does take longer to wash a load of clothes, but you can fit more in. So, in the long run, it doesn't save time on washing clothes. However, I have noticed that our water bill has gone down $10.
Yes, I recommend this product.

After reading the reviews on this website before purchasing, I was expecting much more than what we got. The part about making whites whiter? Not. My first load was whites, and a few items looked better but for the most part they looked the same. Your socks will not look like new. The part about it's so quiet? Not. Ours is in the basement, so it's not a big deal and doesn't vibrate, but the water spraying into the machine is very loud. The part about cramming a lot in there? that's true, thankfully. It doesn't seem like it, but you can indeed stuff a lot in there and it will still get clean. The steamfresh cycle, i was expecting miracles. Nope. Doesn't do much. You'll still have to iron everything like you used to. I did wash a load of wool sweaters and a load of winter jackets, and they all came out fine. (Sweaters that haven't been washed in, well, ever! Cool stuff.) If you don't expect miracles, you will really like this machine!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Bill, my sales guy, told me not to add any soap the first time we used this washer. He said, "the soap your old washer left behind will be enough to get the clothes clean". Yea right, I thought, not on my son's gym socks (which he likes to wear outside in the dirt, without the shoes?). I was sure this washer, at this price, should be good at it's job. Bill and I were both right. After using this unit, our top load vibrating washer was like using Grandma's old electric wringer/washer.

Oh my Gosh, these (we got both the washer and dryer) are the most amazing appliances we've ever owned! Don't listen to any negatives, as I have nothing but praise for this washer/dryer. And that's after 30 days. A word of advice: purchase the optional pedestals. They're worth the money.

My Kenmore flooded my laundry room, so I began research to find the right washer for me and my family. After careful consideration, I decided on the LG WM2487HWM. The stainless steel tub and all of the other perks sold me. Consumer Reports also suggested it. My son plays varsity baseball, and I absolutely dreaded washing his white pants, because it took me several washings to get them satisfactory. Now one wash, and they are like new. If you can get past the price, go LG. Buy the extended warranty for $89.

I've had this washer for a few days now. As a mom of twins I have already run several loads and it works great! I love how QUIET the washer is. My kids love to watch Elmo "taking a bath" in the washer along with their blankies. The child lock makes me feel safer knowing that they can't climb in to join in the fun. The clothes are super clean- even dried yogurt, dried paint , and some as of yet unidetified smear -all have come out no problem- and take no time at all to dry because the spin cycle takes most of the water out. One downside is that some of the cycles can take a long time -I have been playing around with the featues though and won't use some of them if I know I am in a hurry. Expensive but SO much better than the old washer!

After extensive research and product reviews, we went into Home Expo to purchase our new machine as well as the pedestal in early January. We were told that it would be in in about 2 wks. Two wks later and no one called. We called to find out that this model was on back-order.
Last week, after several delivery mishaps ( attempts at delivering washer but no pedestal or vice versa) the machine finally arrived and the delivery person started a cycle and left. OE appeared on the machine. My husband read the manual and tried moving the water hose. No luck.
We attempted to call HD but the guy "in charge" didn't call us back. LG sent out a repair person, who was very friendly and informed us that our brand new machine needs to be repaired!!!! and... 1. front loaders need to be on either cement flooring or that we will need to add bracers to the subflooring as well as consider ceramic tiling the laundry room because the machines shake so much that the water hoses become kinked and things in the motor becomes loose! 2. Make sure that the store starts your extended warranty on the day of delivery -not of purchase. 3. That this machine needs to be cleaned regularly inside with vinegar and water otherwise mold will begin and break down the rubber sealant around the opening. 4. The rubber and door of The LG need to be wiped dry after each use.
If we had known this info. before, not certain that we would have gone with a front loader, even if they are energy efficient. Realistically, with the life of today's machines, we wouldn't be saving money via water/dryer gas til the machine broke down anyway.
Despite all of this, we will have the LG guy replace the parts needed and my husband is going INTO the store to speak to a manager about this mishap.
Cross your fingers that our machine doesn't remain a lemon! and that HD customer service begins to service!

Installed as part of a washer/dryer/pedestal system by Home Depot, the washer started flashing error codes with the first load of clothes we attempted to wash indicating a defective water valve. When combined with installation errors making it impossible to level the washer with the dryer, you are better off looking elsewhere if you're interested in a reliable machine and/or installation services capable of dealing with the apparent set-up intricacies equipment at this price point demands.

Our old washer lasted 25 years with only 1 maintenance call. Our drier was 20 years old and still working. When the washer quit and I started looking with my wife at what was available in the market we quickly realized that washers and driers had changed drastically. A new washer and drier were going to cost as much as our first car. I didn’t want to make an expensive mistake so I started a chart comparing the top brands at various stores and their prices. After careful research, we decided on the LG model and Home Depot because they had the best price (including free delivery, hook up and haul-off of the two “antiques”). The washer and drier were delivered a couple of weeks ago and we have been amazed at the efficiency and quality of the two appliances. My wife has called me into the laundry room several times to see the results of several washes. I saw what had happened to a load of whites that had accidentally not been pre-treated with a stain remover. They looked like new. An older shirt that had “grayed” over time is now pure white because of the steam cycle. The energy savings is remarkable also - half the time to dry clothes because of the 1400 rpm spin speed of the washer. SenseClean is a miracle by itself and will help pay for this washer and drier in energy savings in half the time that I expected. I am about to start shopping for a new Plasma TV and because of the quality of this LG product I will start by looking at the LG brand first.
Yes, I recommend this product.

When our last washer died after only six years of use, we were looking for one that would work well and last. Most new washers looked poorly built to us, and we don't like the idea of disposable appliances. After a lot of research and shopping, we bought this machine. I was not sold on the advantages of front loaders until I used this one. It gets the clothes noticeably cleaner, uses less water and power, and is gentler on our clothes than our prior Maytag. The controls are easy to use, and the it's very quiet. Cycles include a sanitary cycle, a steam cycle that helps get rid of wrinkles, and even a cycle for bulky items. The washer has had no problem with blankets and other large items. We haven't had it long enough to know how reliable it will prove to be. But it appears to be extremely well built with lots of steel parts and has worked flawlessly in the time we've had it. Wish we had bought it sooner.
