6 Ft. Futura Smoky Topaz Laminate Countertop

The Futura style with its contemporary, postformed double-radius edge can provide the "slab" effect of solid surface or stone. Paired with the Smoky Topaz laminate, it's a true eye catcher portraying the look of solid surface but never needs sealing or buffing. VT postformed fine laminate countertops and seamless backsplashes provide a one-piece unit with no crevices to collect dirt and grime. Our countertops are durable and easy to care for. With minimal maintenance, your countertop will provide lasting style for your home.

Well Built and Good Installation Accessories

We bought one 10-foot kitchen countertop from the local Home Depot store. Cutting, fitting and installtion was a breeze. We were delighted with the end-cap kits and convenient filler-block included with the edge trim kit.
The laminate appeared to be bonded 100% at all points, and we could not see any evidence of separation or lack of bond, even after cutting with circular saw and jigsaw.
Installing the countertop, and cutting the hole for the sink was easy, even though we had never done such before.
We went back to Home Depot and bought a 6-foot section for the counter on the other side of the kitchen. We then bought a 6-foot section to install over the counter in our bathroom. We simply removed the sinks, laid a 1/2-inch plywood sheet over the counter, and laid the new countertop right on the plywood, with the new backsplash covering the old backsplash. We did not need to do any demolition work at all. The countertop was deeper than the typical bathroom counter, but the increased size was a delightful bonus. We then added a beautiful vessel sink and free flow faucet.
Our only negative experience was the ease that the sharp edges of the countertop can be damaged in handling. This is typical of any new countertop purchased from bulk inventory at a store. They are not 'packaged' for handling. Cardboard around the edges would have been a good feature. Advice to the buyer -- be very careful of your edges in handling, transport and installation.

Much better than Lowe's laminate tops

This is an incredible looking and design laminate top. Unlike Lowe's tops which curl over and end the laminate parallel to the floor on the counteredge, this stuff curls all the way until it comes back into contact with cabinet face so no exposed wood composite. And this finish in particular is very upscale as well...it has become my go-to laminate countertop!!
