So glad I ignored the bad reviews,
January 23, 2010
"I've had the humidifier for over a week and it has been FLAWLESS. The humidy gauge is accurate and there is no leaking whatsoever. As far as noise, it sounds like a teapot beginning to boil...soothing sound if you ask me. I mean, it is a WARM moist humidifier and that is produced by boiling the water. I couldn't be happier with it.
The only negative I can mention is the claim that the water would last 24 hrs - January in the Northeast is very dry and I would only get about 12-15 hrs out of it. The only solution would be an outlandishly large tank...who would want that?"

Great but Doesn't Last Long,
January 9, 2010
"I use this humidifier for my orchid rooms. I have owned 6 or 7 of them over 4 years. The element seems to burn out on these systems very quickly. My most recent one hasn't even lasted 4 months and has stopped working. Unfortunately this is one of the few warm humidifiers with humidity control settings as a percentage like 50%. Buy it for specialty activities but be prepared to have them last for a short time."

Requires Frequent Cleanings,
February 11, 2009
"This recent incarnation of Honeywell's humidifier isn't as good as their previous one, the HMW-2030, which I've had for 4 years. This one steams pretty quick but requires frequent cleaning, like every two weeks, to remove the mineral deposits on the heating plate. In my 4 years of ownership with the HMW-2030, I've only cleaned it 4 times. Yeah, there's mineral buildup on the heating element but it still will work without a hitch. The other bad thing with this new model is the design of the water tank. The top is not flat like the old model. When you set it upside down in the sink, it tilts and isn't as stable. I didn't have any issues with the cap. However, I *initially* had leakage from the front and side grills, too. What you have to do is tighten the tube that goes from the heating element to the mist output. For some reason, they didn't assemble that at the factory and it's not in the directions. Once, I locked that tube in place, the leakage issue went away."

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE,
February 6, 2008
"It will NOT hold water! 2 days in a row I have come home to find that it has emptied the contents of the reservoir on the floor. I have owned it 4 days. The first day I thought that perhaps I had not screwed the cap on tightly enough. It was definitely tight the 2nd day. DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE!"

Clean Humidifier,
November 13, 2007
"I like this humidifier. I bought one a year ago, and bought another this year. Works very well and helps warm air during winter season. I have other humidifiers (atomizers & ultrasonic), but they require very thorough cleaning and don't seem to help much during cold weather. Cleanig this humidifier is easy, but takes a couple of hours for vinegar to disolve hard water stain. Only downside is its water tank lid. The seal and the cover are designed very poorly such that it could leak water if not tightened really hard."
