I am very satisfied with this heater being used in my bedroom. It is quiet which is very important to me since I spend a great deal of time in my bedroom rather than any other room in my home. I like to be warm and comfy and I find that my bedroom is this way with this heater. I rate this a #5 on your rating scale on all levels.

Same story, works great for about two years and then dies. I had read several reviews stating that this would happen and it did. Not worth it in the end. Was good while it worked. Was only used for 2-3 hours per day, for 5 months per year.

We are using this heater to heat an old house without much insulation on the upper floor (about 600sq ft). The best feature is the quietness. I am a light sleeper and it is perfect. The cord does not get hot, it turns off at the desired temperature, and the controls are easy to understand. An overall winner!

This is my second set of these heaters. It works great when it worked. Quiet, efficent, no smell after the first few times of use, small compact and great heat output.
The only problem is that they only last 2 years. They give no warning they just give a soft pop and die. I use it every night in a bedroom from late fall to early spring. They went within weeks of each other. So it wasnt just a faulty one I had. I tried other heaters but none match up to these. So i'm hopeing that I get a few more years out of this pair than I did the last set.

This is my second micathermic heater. I'm sensitive to odors and there was very little noticeable odor when I first turned it on. I love the quietness and ease of being able to roll it to wherever I need heat in the house without having to heat the whole house. My sewing room is always at a comfortable temperature now and my dog loves to curl up next to the heater while I'm sewing!

I ordered this product late December 2010. Online ordering is user friendly. The product arrived in just a few days! The heater body and parts (two wheelbases, wheels, screws, and washers, spring washers) are in one box. My son-in-law (I am not mechanical at all) assembled the wheelbase and wheels in a few minutes! The heater does provide comfortable silent heat. The only sound is associated with turning the heater on/off and programming the timer.
As soon as the heater is turned on the air in the room will begin to warm. I have used both the low and high settings. For me, the low setting is enough to keep an area comfortable. The heater easily rolls from area to area.
The remote control is a bit small but works fine. The timer feature works great. The Tip-Over feature definitely works. I turned quickly to do something and bumped into the heater. It shut off immediately.

I purchased this as a gift to my parents for their anniversary. They wanted one to put in the den area. They were very disappointed at the heat that it put out. They plugged it in left it on all night and it was not very warm. They said the small space heater they had actually put out more heat than this Flat Panel Heater. There is also a smell my Mom complained about that was suppose to go away after a couple of days but it did not. It was very disappointing. My parents are going to trade it in for a kerosene heater instead.

I purchased this heater in Nov. 2008 and it worked great. It heated our den and was very quiet which is what we wanted. It was not used every day, maybe a few times a week. However, by April 2009, it just stopped working. The only thing that lit up was the digital panel. To say I was disappointed is putting it mildly.

Nice, sleek unit, Starts heating as soon as you turn it on. It's very quiet, and the digital display in temperture takes the guessing out of how hi or low it is. I have it in the basement, and it really takes the chill out of the air. I really like the design of this unit and would recommend it.

I am a 56 year old General Contractor and am familiar with many different heating products and I feel this one is a waste of money.
The Flat Panel Micathermic Heater (at a cost of $96.51, inc. tax & del) actually cost me $14.00 more (for 31 days of use & same average temperature), than using 2 small ($15.00) resistance heaters.
Being very careful to provide a fair analysis, I started using this heater in January o8 for 31 days and my electrical usage cost was $132.00, and the average temperature for January was 42 degrees. The previous month, December 07, also 31 days, I used two small resistance heaters, one at each end of my 36 ft. Airstream Travel trailer. The average temperature for Trinidad, California just happened to be the same 42 degrees for the month of December. However, my electrical usage cost was $118.00 for December, a difference of $14.00 less for the 2 heaters.
