I've been wanting to purchase a front load washer for some time. When I saw the price of this machine and realized this wasn't a compact that you could only do a small load, I couldn't pass this deal up - especially since Home Depot was having a special of no payments and no interest for 12 months on their credit card.
I was worried abut that saying - you get what you pay for. I certainly didn't have to worry about this purchase! This washer is wonderful! It holds so many clothes, cleans them extremely well (and so gently!), controls are very easy to use (select your cycle and push start and it does the rest!), and if it weren't for the quiet swoosh sound of water every now and then, you wouldn't even know it was running! Oh, did I mention that it uses very little water compared to top loaders and it's an energy saver product? It also spins out the water so well that it doesn't take long at all to dry your load of clothes. One thing that surprised me is that you can pause or cancel the cycle that will unlock the door once it has started - I didn't think you could do that with front load washers. Great feature if you missed something!
Overall - THIS WASHER PAY FOR ITSELF!!!
Yes, I recommend this product.

The GE 3.5 Cu. Ft. King-size Capacity Front- Load Washer is very simple to use and washes clothes better than any top loader I have ever used. It uses less water, washes more clothes and cleans them better. The controls are easy to use and adding detergent, fabric softner and bleach is so easy. There is no guessing when the right time to add bleach or fabric softner. The machine does everything for you. I highly recommend this machine.

My husband and I bought this washer because we were sick of dealing with used ones. We are still newly weds so this was a very nice washer to have! I love it! The first time I used it I thought it was broken because it was sooooo quiet! I was so used to the noisy sounds that a washer made that I wasn't expecting it to be so quiet. The only thing that makes any type of noise is when the water flows in and it's not even that noisy when that happens. I also love that the spin cycle makes my drying time less. My towels were just a little damp and that's it! I like how I can just put my detergent and fabric softener in the drawer so I won't have to worry about dispensing my detergent evenly. I also like how I don't have to worry about balancing my load too. The best part about this machine is the price! It is a lot cheaper then the others ones and is still as awesome as you need a washer to be. Also, I shopped around too and Home Depot had the best prices on washers BY FAR! I love this washer and I hope that I'll be able to get the matching dryer soon and the pedestal so that I can make it a little higher because i'm tall! I recommend this washer to everyone!
Yes, I recommend this product.

I got this washer and dryer as a set. I love them. I can put close in and just leave it. there are alot of choices and most of the setting are already set when you turn it on. (even though you can change them if you like) This washer uses very little water it spins it a great deal and gets most of it out when your done. It's very quiet so you can turn it on and sleep in the next room with ease. Since it's front load and all the controls are on the front you can fold on top and the controls and door can be locked so children can't change them or open it while running. This is the best washer i've owned and a great brand and price. Large enough on the inside for a full family but small enough on the outside for an appartment. You can also put them under counters or stack them with an optional attachment ($20) or use them as counters....thank you

We have used this machine for over 2 years now and it has caused nothing but frustration and wasted time. The mildew smell in our towels is embarrassing. It's pointless to label this washer as energy efficient when you have to rewash a load of laundry two or even three times to cover the smell with bleach or vinegar. Apparently other front loaders have a trap door in the front to clean out the drain pump once it becomes clogged. A sign of a clogged machine is the mildew smell and the water doesn't drain (a frequent problem). This model doesn't have that option! The owner's manuel says to call a plumber. A huge waste of time and money.

I bought this washer with the matching dryer when I purchased my first home 4 years ago. It runs well, holds plenty of laundry, and gets my clothes clean. My complaint is that the rubber seal around the door is keeping black mold that looks like it will crack/leak from dry rotting pretty soon. My warranty just expired last month, so I guess I'll ride it out until I either move...Unfortunately, ALL of the major appliances in my home are GE. Big mistake. Their products are cheap, but you get what you pay for. Water heater just went after 4 years - warranty was "self carry" - who would buy a warranty where you do all the work?? My next house will definitely use higher quality brands. No more cheap stuff for me.

I have owned this washer for 2 years. I have had to replace the "mother board " for a second time now. The first time GE came out it was $374.00 for labor and parts(my warranty expired a month prior). I am now waiting for another "mother board " at a cost of $179.00 for labor, the part is still under warranty(I have to wait another week for the part to come in).
When it does work, it does a decent job at cleaning the clothes.

I was so happy to buy a front loader which was billed as High Efficiency, but have been very disappointed as to the quality of cleaning the machine provides, especially with whites. No matter how much bleach i put in this machine, or how hot the water is, it makes no difference. I notice that when i've washed sour towels, i've had to wash them twice to remove the sour odor - while the machine is quiet and pretty fast, and i do like the options and the money i save on detergent, i'm not so sure if it is really high efficient, and i'm positive it doesn't do a very good job cleaning. Kind of a high price for a mediocre machine, in my opinion.

Prefect for Condo living. The installers from Home Depot were professional and cleaned up after they removed the old washer/dryer and installed new front loaders. I have no complaints after two years. I like not having to stand on my toes to get clothes out washer and the different wash/rinse cycles. No more adjusting lopsided loads. Purchased gas dryer knowing it would be cheaper in the long run. Gas bill only $1 or $2 more a month. Electric bill less by $5 or $8 a month. Just make sure you have gas value for dryer because installer cannot install dryer.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Hi. I bought the GE Front load 3.5 washer about one year ago. To date my GE runs great and not one problem due to the machine. One time due to my mistake, I had a lollypop stick stuck in the pump making noise, I called repair and they came out and fixed it under warranty.
I never owned a washer that you put the soap, bleach, or softener in a draw before you start the machine. This is a great convenience, to put all the soap, bleach, and softener, before you start the machine. That way you do not forget. This washer spins the clothes real fast on the high speed spin so you have to level and balance the washer. But this is a quiet and easy to use washer.
I wash a lot of clothes with my dogs jumping up on my bed and couch covers. It does a great job and uses little water to do the job right. I would recommend this for all families and single people who like clean clothes. Remember to also buy the OPTIONAL PEDESTAL or build one to raise this up some. I built a PEDESTAL myself to raise this 16 inches to my personal height I like. Enjoy and try to get all the rebates you can.......
Yes, I recommend this product.

I purchased this stackable washer on the advice of a friend. I have owned it just shy of a year now, and so far it has served me well. It is a high efficiency model, calling for HE detergent, and it seems to use a bare minimum of water, causing clothes to come out drier than other washers I've used. Less drying time is definitely a plus.

No problems for 30 months, then the machine stopped draining. I had to take off the front bottom panel and undo band clamps and unclog the filter. One month later I had trouble with it not spinning. Over all not a bad machine, but I will try a different brand next time.

I purchased this washer and the 5.8 cu ft gas dryer as a stacked unit for an alcove closet with approx 3" clearance on both sides. Making adjustments with the leveling legs was virually impossible due to the cramped quarters. The rear levels cannot be accessed once the washer is in place. To complicate matters, I purchased the anti vibration pads. The adjustable leveling legs rest in the anti vibration pads and cannot be turned with a wrench without picking the unit up from the anti vibration pads. With this unit being advertised for alcove and/or undercabinet installations, leveling is definitely a problem. The washer works well though. Initially, the washer kept making beeping noises when NOT in use (indicating a problem with the drain line?). After a couple of days the beeps stopped. Never did find the source of that error code. The door collects a little water which drips when you open it. This could be a result of our inability to effectively level it. Overall it appears to be a good product but I think GE should rethink the rear leveling legs.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I would rate this a 4.5 to 4.75 -
Pros
1) Very Quiet
2) Extra Large Capacity
3) Plenty of Wash Cycles
4) Plenty of Wash Options
5) Large door opening makes it easy to load
6) Door swings fully open again making it easier to load
7) Great Price (even better - purchased on sale)
Cons
1) The bleach and Fabric Softner dispensers do not fully drian - there is always some water in these dispensers
2) The wash window has tinted glass - it would be easier to see the laundry while it is washing if the glass were clear
Yes, I recommend this product.

I hate this washer. Since I bought it, almost a year ago, all it has given me is a headache! Suds always remain on the door, detergent leaks, capacity is NOT KING SIZED and the spin cycle is AWFUL!!! Clothes always stay with too much water. Right now I've spent TWO days trying to drain the water. I followed the trouble shooting instructions and it hasn't worked. I have an LG dryer which is wonderful. Thought I was getting a great deal on this washer but it has been a terrible nightmare. I will now have to call for service and take my laundry out. I don't need this!!!

I have had this washer for about 8 months and am pleased with it. The load capacity is good and it operates well. The variety of settings gives me options for washing fabrics that were washed by hand before. It is quiet as long as the legs are not set too high which is advised against in the manual anyway.
It does not appear to completely clean heavily soiled items the first time, though it performs well in every other area.
As to be expected, it is very heavy. You will need a lot of help to move it.
Overall, it is a good washer and the Home Depot price is better than other stores.
