All attachments just snap on and off the unit which is a vast improvement over the old style slip fit of the old units. The rotary / variable speed control spends all its time on high when I'm using it, but if you want to slow it down the capability is there. The unit is a lot quieter than my old TORO blower / vac.

Wow. I thought this thing was cool, but today it just broke. i was blowing leaves off my patio, very light amount. Turned it off, switched to the vacuum bag to suck the leaves up... and NOTHING. 2 year warranty, but i can't find my receipt, so not sure if HD will refund it. I'd be surprised and i'll update if they do. Good luck, you have been warned.

I am still learning to use the vacuum to get the best results. I am only 5'4 and find the vacuum tube a little too long for me and at medium speed it does not grind up live oak leaves. I will up the speed next time to see if that works. Overall, it does a good job of picking up debris and as a blower, but it is "man-sized, not woman-sized." Shipping was prompt and ordering was easy.

I bought this blower primarily for blowing, and will not likely ever use it for vacuum/mulching. As a blower though, it does a great job so far, though I've only used it 3 or 4 times. It's powerful enough to move wet leaves if used properly and I've used it to blow all the pesky sweet gum balls out of my grass. I did not like the way the blower tube attaches though. It makes it difficult to disassemble for compact storage, but if you plan to store it fully assembled it's ok. I do like the continuously variable speed control vs. a switch with just 2-3 speed settings. Unfortunately it does not have any kind of extension cord holder to keep it attached. Overall a good blower for the price.

This unit does a great job vacuuming up & shredding leaves; It is easy to use (compared to others of this type), with an average noise level. The only complaint is that the plastic tube on the catch bag is EXTREMELY hard to remove when ready to empty the bag, but is easy to put back on. I have not yet used the unit as a leaf blower.

I haven't had this machine very long, but so far it has performed just fine. I bought this for the mulching feature and because it has a metal blade.....before this I was using a Worx blower/mulcher, which worked o.k. too but it was a lot of work trying to make sure I didn't suck up any rocks or other items that would break the plastic mulching blade.
This Toro machine is cleverly designed so that the tube you attach for mulching is large enough that the suction is not strong enough to pick up rocks or larger sticks! The vacuum/blowing tube/s are much smaller so you get more force.
The specs on this item say it reduces 16 bags of leaves down to 1. I have not collected 16 bags of leaves to try this but I seriously doubt it. I had a plastic tub of leaves that I mulched and they were reduced by about half.....which is fine for what I need.
I'm a small woman with activity-limiting health issues and I have no trouble operating this.....it is lightweight, balanced, and not at all difficult for me to manage by myself. There's a huge Oak tree in my yard and it's great to be able to use all those fallen leaves for garden mulch, and the leaves break down into the soil MUCH faster after being chopped up!

I bought this blower about 3 1/2 years ago. It works great as a blower, light blowing to heavy blowing are very easy. It is light and easy to carry. As a vacuum it did so/so. it often got clogged on leaves over 2" which was aggravating because you have to stop and empty it out or unplug then run your arm up in it to clear it which is time consuming. It did mulch the leaves up very well which made either bagging them or using them for mulch very easy. The bag was easy to carry over your shoulder.
I'm extremely disappointed in the durability of this model. I bought this one due to the metal "fan" which did hold up well. HOWEVER. i used this blower maybe twice a year to either blow or vacuum and blow my yard which while FULL of leaves is very small. This year would have been it's 4th season of use. Last year it got used once due to a broken foot. This year I was 1/2 way thru my front yard (maybe 30 min max of use) and it just died. Flat dead, engine dead no use. I would expect this if I had paid maybe $40-$50 bucks from Walmart but at nearly $100 and from Home Depot I expected much better quality. At least it lasting more than probably 30 hours of combined use. I won't buy any Toro products again. If I'm going to put up with constant clogging and only 2-3 yrs of use, I'll buy something much cheaper.

Purchased 2 years ago, worked great up until the third season. I use it only as a vac, i have a gas back pack as my main blower. As many of the reviews say, in the third season i started to experience slow down until finally the motor burnt out. You'll see the vac stop working first (due to the heavy pull on the motor), that's how you know the end is near. Let's face it though 2.5 years for the price is not bad, I went for the metal impeller thinking long range it would have a better life cycle. Perhaps down grade to the plastic impeller, since odds are your motor will not outlast it.

With all the reviews and ratings I thought this blower was going to be good. I used the vac/mulcher to mulch leaves from oak trees. When using as vac, you have to hold it in an awkward position and also support the bag which strains your neck and back. For the times that it did work, the mulcher was pretty good, but the blower/vac is so poorly made that it breaks easily. I don't know what caused it break, but when I went to use it, I plugged it in and it wouldn't run. This blower/vac/mulcher is sold under many different brands, as it is made by MTD, and I would stay away from all the similar ones until MTD improves their product quality.

This blower worked ok, but in less than a year and not much use, the motor slows down and it stops blowing completely. going to the trash pile, very disappointed.

This product actually works better than I had hoped for my needs. The mulching device works well on the small leaves that I wanted to pick up and the bag holds a decent amount after being mulched.

The variable speed feature is great and effective in both speeds, depending on application. The bag is big enough, easy to empty.
Not too difficult to interchange parts from Blow to Vac and back as long as the sleeves are clean.
Don't use the Vac feature on anything but clean, dry leaves N grass. It'll do twigs. It's not a chipper and doesn't do damp or wet.
Neg: 'Cumbersome'. I had to add a strap to be able to hold it all up. Plus, the usual joys of using electric lawn equipment.
BUT, I would NOT want to live without it.

Impellar worn down and chipped withing 2 years. the speed control dial would not stay on maximum speed due to vibration after 2 years, broke the 3rd year, knob stripped out, had to use vice grips to turn. had to replace the suction funnel as it split the first year. Only about a 3 year life, and I need to replace it.

I've owned this product for 2 fall seasons now and couldn't be happier with it. So much so that I purchased one for my mom as well.
My property has a TON of leaves and is situated so that I can't blow them into the woods, rather I have to pick them up, bag them and put them at the curb to be taken away. This leaf blower save me hours on this task. I can easily blow them into a pile, suck them up and dump them (using the yard funnel) into the bags. The only issue I've found is that if the leaves are wet they do occasionally get stuck and clogged and sometimes sticks get stuck in the chopper. The design of this is so simple and easy that fixing those issues is a breeze. I couldn't be happier with this product and would recommend it to anyone!
It also multitasks as a snow blower for light dusty snow! Added bonus!
