I purchased this dryer after looking at several different models. Due to space constrictions, we had to get a model that was 27 inches wide. That really limited our options and GE was one of only a few brands that fit that description. Another sticking point for us was price. We wanted to get something under $400, due to the fact that we might be moving in a few years and didn't want to invest in an expensive dryer we might leave behind. We lucked out the week we were looking at dryers that this was on sale. I liked that the capacity is large and it has several different settings for various fabric types. There's not a lot of bells and whistles but we didn't need any. Our previous dryer took forever to dry and it's nice that with this one, most loads of clothes are done in under 40 minutes (depending on what we're drying). My husband was very impressed with the delivery crew as well. They were able to remove the old dryer and install the new one in record time without waking our napping daughter!! We've had this dryer for about a month and we've been happy. Actually, my husband does most of the laundry and I haven't heard any complaints :)

I bought this based on user reviews for my tenants as my old dryer finally stopped working for good. So far they said it works great, holds a lot of laundry, and are happy with it.

The size is perfect for me and the drying time was quick. I replaced my Kenmore with a GE and so far so good! It is a very quiet machine.

This dryer doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but it does everything I need for a very good price. I could spend more but why?

After 20 years with my old GE dryer, it finally gave out. I did a bit of research and found this dryer to be exactly what I was looking for. The price was right and it is very quiet. I can dry a double load of laundry in half the time it took my old dryer. Very happy with it.

I would rate this a 5 star for performance; I rated it 4 star because I'm not sure of the heat temp. for other than cottons. It works wonderfully for cottons. While it does not have the energy star rating, it dries my laundry in about half the time of my old dryer, so I figure it balances out. Maybe a further study of my owner's manual will help me determine what selection gives me a lower heat.

I love my new dryer, It is very large & dry's very fast. My mom has the same one just a little smaller, she recommended it to me & we are both happy w/ our GE Super Capacity Dryer's.

I used this dryer for the first time last night and a large load was dry within 25 minutes, which compared to me old dryer is ridiculously fast. Contrary to the product description, this unit does have sensors that tell it when your clothes are dry, which is a great energy efficient feature. The only complaint that other reviewers have had with this unit is the lint trap. If you clean it out every time before you take the clothes out it's not an issue and you should be cleaning it after every load anyway so the unit runs efficiently. I couldn't be happier with this dryer!

I've had this unit for a couple of months now. It seems to be a good dryer for the price, but like others have mentioned, it allows too much lint to bypass the screen.

The design is simple and easy to understand. It does a good job at drying the clothes. The one thing I wish I could change is the location of the lent trap. The lent trap is inside, by the door . When you open the door you have to clear the lent trap before getting the clothes out or the lent will get on the clothes.

First, the order process. This was very easy - actually about 4 out of 5 stars. Biggest problems were the sheer number of options and the fact that at the time I ordered, they tried selling me things I did not need (washer hoses, which I had fairly new metal ones). I ended up taking the unneeded things they added to my cart out, and everything turned out just fine.
Second, the delivery. Wow - 5 out of 5 stars. I ordered the washer on Sunday around 2:00 pm or so to be delivered in a few days on Wednesday. On Wednesday at 7:00 am I got an automated call telling me they would be there "within the hour". At 7:45 am, they showed up and had my old appliances taken away and the new ones completely installed and working by 8:15 am. Very nicely done.
Third, the washer. It's an inexpensive washer - seems to do what it's meant to. No bells and whistles, but I purposely ordered a washer without bells and whistles.

This is an excellent value for the money. It has a HUGE capacity and does a wonderful job of drying the clothes in an efficient amount of time without balling everything up into one big wad of clothes! Very few wrinkles, if any. Good variety of settings and options, and runs very quietly to boot. I am very happy with my purchase.

Hello i would like to start out saying that i have always been a fan of GE appliances, until now. This dryer has given me nothing but grief since the week after i bought it. I bought this dryer about one year and two weeks ago and the electric motor for the dryer is now not working. I called up to see if there was an exception for that part to be covered under warranty and they said "sorry there is nothing we can do". I am very disappointed in this company and may never buy anything with that name on it again. Every appliance in my home has GE on it. It scares me that this dryer that i had just bought a little over a year ago is now basically garbage.Now i hope that the quality of the rest of my appliances are at least a few years better than this one.so my closing is i would never recommend this dryer to anyone who is looking for something that is going to last some time. Now i need to try and pinch some pennies and save for a new one.Times are tough and this does not help what so ever.

I found the perfect dryer for my home with a price that I could afford. I have only had the dryer for 2 days and am thrilled with the capacity the dryer holds and I haven't had a wrinkle yet in any clothes that even sat there. I also love the choice of settings. Since I have just moved, it is a comfortable feeling to put delicate curtains and other gentle articles and have not problems.
I also have to comment on the professional delivery and care (with a smile) the delivery men had. They were efficient, informative and pleasent.
