If you like your dishes wet, this one's for you.,
February 6, 2009
"So I read reviews of these dishwashers on so many sites before deducing that no one was really happy with their dishwasher. I just decided on this one, having had such good luck with GE in the past. It looks great. It's really quiet. But if you're looking for a good cleaning machine that dries, keep looking. I rinse my dishes well, but have found some light residue left behind on "stickier" meals. Not horrible, but still disappointing considering the investment. Even worse, the drier in this thing is pitiful. My old GE dishwasher (r.i.p.) used to heat-dry the dishes so well that they would be too hot to touch right after the cycle. But I can open up this one a day after it's finished running and still find water on all of my dishes and the walls of the dishwasher. I'm not super thrilled, to say the least, but I'm not hassling with a return."

If you actually use your plates, do not buy this!!,
February 4, 2009
"I've never owned a dishwasher before, so 8 months ago, I decided to treat myself. What a waste. Even after rinsing dishes, it still leaves behind food. Water will stand in the bottom of it until you reset it. It may empty the water, but doesn't finish the cycle. Half the time the soap door doesn't open, and when it does, it leaves chunks of soap on the dishes near it because the soap has clumped after being in there for multiple cycles. It is hit or miss if this thing will work when I start it. I wouldn't even care that it is so loud, if it would just clean the dishes! I'm so bummed out about it."

Stopped working after 2 months,
June 9, 2008
"I bought this dishwasher 2 months ago to replace an older dishwasher that came with the house. I should have just kept it or bought a better dishwasher. This one has never rised all the food off the plates or glasses. I have to really space them out to get them clean. It's not quiet at all!! Now I stared it and it fills with water and turns off. I reset it and it just pumps the water back out and stops. This is the worst thing I have ever bought."

Exceptional Value,
January 5, 2008
"I bought this dishwasher to replace another GE dishwasher that was recalled. I removed the old one and installed the new one. Installation was typical with no major problems. The instructions said to adjust the door before installation. I left it as delivered (the door lifted up slightly). I figured that after some use the return spring would relax- and after about a month it has. I kept the old sound insulation blanket off the other machine and installed it on this one. Though after installing it I don't think it was necessary. This dishwasher operates very quietly. Maybe it's just my cabinets, or other factors affecting other purchasers installations, some reviewers have said this machine is noisy (not mine). The interior is large. With the three wash arms the washer does an excellent job.
I like the "clean" dishes indicator light. It's a nice touch. One thing about the light though- it stays on until the door is opened and then fully closed after the wash cycle has finished. The wash racks are very flexible with the fold down tines and wine glass holders.
I have yet to find anything about this dishwasher I don't like."

GE Dishwasher,
December 24, 2007
"This dishwasher was easy to install. My husband and a neighbor took out the old one and installed the new one within an hour. It is a good machine for the price. We were able to pick it up at the store. It runs relatively quiet."

Loud, doesn't dry, and poor finish,
September 8, 2007
"I'm returning mine today after two weeks. I would have returned it earlier if I could. The dishwasher is louder than the one we replaced and it was 11 years old and cost a little less at the time. We even added that sound blanket from the old one like another poster said. The dishes are yet to be dry after it's complete. The "clean" light doesn't go out unless you mess with the front panel. The front door doesn't line-up very well no matter what we try. It has 4 screw down legs to level it and the back ones are all but inaccessable while under the cabinet. The drain is on the back, making it a difficult install as well."

Works OK, but Installation was bad, other problems,
July 3, 2007
"I followed the instructions (note that I am very handy at tools and construction) and had problems mounting the upper tabs to the counter, although about 50% of that problem was my countertop overhang. The bottom side steel rivits broke upon install, which I had to re-rivit. The front door panel does not match up exactly, but does not leak & seals.
The 2 biggest complaints I have are the following though: (1) The center holding area could be modified so things like bowls lean back when sitting. They also are not tall enough. It looked as though it would work from the diplay model, but in reality it doesnt work to good.
(2) AFter running the first cycle, I found a lpin hole eak at the bottom plastic sump "bin" that carries the waste water to the sink. Bad enough that it leaked about 1/4 gallon I called GE and it would take a week to get a new one! I was able to seal it up with some super glue for now to finish my dishes. All in all, If I had to buy another one, it would beon a differant brand.
Also, I forgot to mention that this washer is supposed to be super quiet. However, it's as loud as any other standerd washer, and louder than my previous washer."
