This one-piece frame construction is designed as a surface mount and sits outside the fireplace opening against a flat surface. A Fireplace Glass Door assists in reducing heat loss or cool air loss up the chimney by as much as 90% which equals a year-round energy savings when the fireplace is not in use. These doors are beautiful. The metal is thick and construction is sturdy. The door assembly simply clamps on to the lintel bar (that bar in the top front of your fireplace) so no drilling is neccessary - however it is really important to have a partner to help you mount the doors to the fireplace. My only issue is the strips of insulation on the sides and bottom of the doors would not stay in place while I mounted the doors to the fireplace, I had to stuff the insulation back in once the fireplace was installed. Overall I am very satisfied

This product installed easily, seems to be well made and looks good. The only issue that I had was one of the screen doors was detached and the lock clip for it was missing. No problem reattaching it and I used a piece of wire in place of the clip. .

Had to adjust for the doors to stay in the opening, a couple of brackets solved the problem. The door closing could be lined up better, is a bit off, not enough to be real concerned about, but I'm sure a draft can get through. Overall though, we are happy with the product, looks great.

I ordered this for my mom and had it delivered directly to her. I was told installation was relatively straightforward. Her previous setup had accordion type doors and screens that opened/closed by pulling a chain/handle. I much prefer the doors on this opening with screens that simply swing open and closed. The unit looks great in place! Satisfied!

Doors are great and look nice in the "hole" that existed previously. They seem to be well made, really compliment fireplace and room. Doors were shipped promptly and arrived undamaged and well packaged. Under normal circumstances they would install in likely less than and hour. However, if your bricks are like mine you need to do some work that I did not think about until I placed the doors. My bricks have a broken face and are not smooth. Solution was to chisel the high spots off where the doors would touch the bricks and I added a piece of angled metal around the sides of the doors inside the fireplace to seal the doors to the inside of the fireplace. This seals the doors to the fireplace and makes for a clean install. I’m probably the only one that didn’t realize the bricks where going to be a problem but, just in case! I would order again knowing that the bricks would need leveling.

I looked in many Fireplace stores and couldnt find anything in my price range. Then I found these doors online at Home Depot. They are more Elegant then the ones I saw in the local stores at a fraction of the price. they were also easy to install everyone who has visted my home thinks I had them custom made.

I agree that installation was not a complete "zinch" as some other reviewers have stated. It's not terribly difficult but it does take about an hour after you've thoroughly read the instructions. The doors feel very sturdy and I like that the indoor mesh doors are not the flimsy netting as the old fireplace doors used to have. My biggest complain about this piece is that the materials the doors are made out of stains very easily. If you get soot, or if your hands sweat a lot, you will not be able to take those prints off. I find this VERY annoying because I keep wanting to clean it but the stains cannot be removed. Other than this flaw, these doors are nice. But again, the metal on the doors is impossible to clean without damaging the metal's brass-like finish.

We have only used it for one fire so far, but it kept out the excess smoke (that we used to get once the embers would start smoldering), which was the primary reason we wanted it. It was very easy to install and adds a nice touch to the living room.

I bought this fireplace door set, and have been happy ever since. Though the manufacture recommends this door set for a brick fireplace, I was able to secure it to the front of the Metal fire box with three sheet metal screws. ( I had to remove the fire screens.) Looks great. Works great.

We were very pleased with the Grandior Bay Fireplace Glass doors. The price was fair, shipping was included and installation was not difficult. Before buying check your fireplace dimensions acurately. I found that the medium and small size are the same width; the difference is in the height.

This is a great fireplace door. I installed it myself in less then 1 hr and it looks fantastic. You can't get a better deal for the price and with a little additional insulation next winter will be much better then this. I would definately recommend this product but be aware only use if you have a brick fireplace.
