My husband and I are very, very pleased with this mailbox. Since we are away from home a few days each week, we feel that our mail is safe since the mailbox is locking. The box is very well-constructed and sturdy. The slot is large enough to handle the type of mail that we usually receive.

We recieved this mailbox in a timely fashion. Initially we liked it, but when the mailman delivered the mail, it was very difficult to get into the small slot. If there is anything larger than a standard size letter, you can forget it. It is sturdy, but we will probably return the mailbox before the mailman decides not to deliver our mail anymore.

We had a problem with a child in our area opening our mailbox and were concerned that mail might be missing. After looking at several choices, we decided on this mailbox. It came timely and required no real assembly. It is well-constructed and has pre-drilled holes for mounting. The lock mechanism is smoothe. We are very happy with our choice.

The box has a good design, is strong and secure. I think if I was to order another, I would order something a little more aesthetically pleasing. For a few dollars more, you can get something fancier. Good value for the bucks, though :)

This box looks but will not stop a smart thief. Unfortunately the locking door can be pried open with a flat bar. The lower door has a gasket that leaves enough room for the bar to be shoved in and then the locking tab bends. I have two of these and both got poped open. It will stop somebody from opening the door and taking your mail but will not stop someone with a prybar.

Ordered 4 of these for a group of homes after discussion with our postman. He and we are very pleased. Not the absolute top security unit but more than adequate for our suburban setting. Because of the weight of the 4 units we used lots of cement for the post. Also, the spreader bar for the 4 units is adequate, but could be a bit sturdier.

(1) Rainwater pools on the top and when the delivery door is opened the water runs onto outgoing mail and the inside surface of the delivery door causing both types of mail to get wet.
(2) The outgoing mail clip is so positioned that the outgoing items come between the the door magnet and it's corresponding tab.

Looked at and searched for a decent locking mailbox for over a year. Checked out many styles where mailboxes are sold, all had at least one or two features that did not make it a safe purchase. Then I found this one at Home Depot. The delivery box was just what I needed. Many others allowed your hand to get into the box, tight, but it could be done. Also, I needed a post mounted one that could be placed on an existing post, most needed their own custom post. Best of all, the lock itself is heavy duty, many others were flimsy.

It looked like a decent mailbox but it can't even receive small packages. If you want to send a bigger size envelope, it pops out of the mail box. it is very spacious inside but what is the point if it can't receive packages.

In my research, I discovered that many locking mailboxes have a relatively small slot to receive mail, making it difficult to deliver large periodicals and small packages. The Oasis Junior features a big delivery door with a "scoop" behind it like the big blue USPS boxes. This design makes it impossible for someone to reach in and snatch your mail. When the postal carrier delivers the mail, it goes in to the scoop and then, when the delivery door closes, the mail drops further down in to the receptacle below until you unlock it to retrieve your mail. Another advantage is that the Oasis Junior is comparable in quality to other locking mailboxes, but it costs less. It’s available in several colors – we chose bronze and installed it in to a brick column we built for this purpose. The manufacturer’s specifications are very accurate. All in all, we are very pleased with the performance of this product and recommend it highly to anyone seeking a locking mailbox.

I ordered a mail box and my neighbor ordered the same thing with a 2 mail box adapter and post. Everything fit well and thank God for that. Maybe because it was built in the USA. Got some fast drying cement and was done in about 3 hours total.

I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a sylish, secure and very functional mailbox. The box is very sturdy and easy to use. I checked with the postman who delivers both the mail before and after installing the box. He was delighted with the box and that I followed the USPS guidelines for location and height.
Absolutely only use the steel post designed for this mailbox. It is sturdy steel with powder coated paint. Also, you must use concrete in setting the post. The box is heavier than the cheap thin steel ones and requires a sturdy foundation. I had to set the post in sand ( an old sand dune 4 miles from the coast) so I used two bags of Sakrete (sp). Make sure you let the concrete "setup" for 24 hours before mounting the box. Do not attach the box while you are setting up the post as recommended in the instructions. Use bracing and a level to get the post vertical with a horizontal top until the concrete sets - then mount the box.
Buy a can of silicone spray and coat the rubber gaskets on the doors of the box. It prevents deterioration of the gaskets by sun, heat, cold and weather. Refresh the silicone about every six months. You can spray it onto a paper towel and then swipe the gasket.
This product is definitely worth the money - very well designed and manufactured.
A note, Home Depot does not carry all the colors of the posts to match the color of the boxes. They should.
Would I buy it again. Most definitely.

Since I experienced a theft from my mailbox, I looked online for the best security in mailboxes. I found this one and loved it. As I am on the go, I feel comfortable that my mail is safe. I left for 3 weeks and all my mail was there and I still had room for probably one more week of mail. I had this for about 6 months without any problems. Very easy to install. Great instructions. Verified that it was U.S. Postmaster approved.
