Kills the mice as long as you follow the instructions. Best if you put peanut butter on the inside walls of the trap, not the electric plates for easy cleanup. If you think all mice are gone, turn off the trap, mine drains the batteries if left on. It's a quick death compared to glue and other traps, probably most "humane." I live next to a green belt.

there is work being done in the area and I got the new guess. So I purchased the victor electronic mouse trapes because the little buggers avoided the regular trapes and I court 8 in one day. Can't wait till they stop working.

We live in the country and mice are a fact of life. We also don't want to harm other living creatures. This was the diificult decision. This product seemed to solve both problems. Since we set it we have captured/killed several mice. It seems to kill them immediately (which is great), you don't have to watch them suffer on glue strips or other methods. Disposal is easy and clean. If you have to solve a problem this is the way to do it.

For better or worse, since if I didn't have a problem with mice I wouldn't need this product, this is the best trap I have found. It works quickly and a set of batteries lasts for months. My only complaint is that Home Depot has stopped stocking it in the stores - why?

After moving to a house in the woods we found mice in the basement drop ceiling and many other places. We had the infestation taken care of professionally but still have a few mice coming in every fall.
We tried everything that was the most humane but we have cats now so didn't want more anti-coagulant traps to be used.
I was looking for a better mouse trap when I found these at Home Depot. They work with a little patience.
I always set the box where I know there is activity and place peanut butter inside and then a smear on the outside so I can see if a mouse has been around (easier to see with a drop ceiling). If a mouse comes to feed I may give them another night of peanut butter so it really thinks it is safe to go in. The next night I turn it on and I usually find a dead mouse in the morning.
I repeat the with the box off until I find the smear has been touched. And then re-feed and turn on.
I believe for those of you that are frustrated on the first try that teaching the mouse the box is safe and has yummy peanut butter is the way to go. It takes a little longer but yields results.
I concur these boxes are not for a mouse infestation, Get a pro but be careful not to get ripped off by someone who charges an arm and a leg to come around and do the same thing you can do, And please be wary of the anticoagulants if you have pets. It can and will kill them.

I've had it out for over 3 weeks now baited with peanut butter. I've moved it to a few different spots in the laundry room. We know there is a mouse in there but haven't caught a thing. It took a few days but the light was finally blinking when I checked it. I opened it up and found mouse droppings and peanut butter but no mouse. I'm sure that one will never go in there again.

First few night tried it caught a mouse with no bait in it.
Next few nights tried it upstairs in the kitchen with peanut butter. Caught 5 in span of two nights.
Works as advertised. This is recommended for light mice activity. If you have an infestation get a tin cat or a pro to rectify the situation. Good mouse hunting.

I had a very shy and smart mouse scurring around our kitchen for a few weeks. so I set 1 regular Tomcat trap baited with gel, and 2 Tomcat Jaw type traps baited with gel. The mouse ate the gel attractant clean out of all three spotless! NO KILL. I then purchased this trap, baited it with gel and within less than 5 minutes of placing it down, and then leaving the room, I walk back into the kitchen and saw the green light flashing. I thought it was a fluke or something, but looked inside and KILL! YEAH! One pesky mouse killed in less than 5 minutes of setting it down. Wow! and easy to cleanup, just open the cover and dump him in the trash. Great product and humane compared to glue traps. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.

I had a bunch of mice and bought two fo these on the recommendations. The mice wouldn't even go near it. They hop right over it. Despite using bait like cheese, peanut butter, nutella, rice grains and a host of others, not one mouse would even enter the trap.
If your mice won't go near a spring trap they won't go near this. So there's no point getting this if spring traps can catch your mice. This would probably be cleaner than a spring trap, but I could've bought over $100 glue traps for the moneuy I spent on two of these

I have a few mice running around the kitchen. I hate the darn things! For a few months I had great sucess using the old fasioned snap traps and glue traps. But the darn things started to figure them out. They would get the bait off the glue traps without getting stuck! then they got the bait out of the snap traps too!
I was at Home Depot and saw this electronic mouse trap and well... had to try it. First night I put it out i caught one! The next day, caught another one. This trap deffinitly works!
The downside. The door over the "mouse" compartment does not want to stay closed. And it has a saftey feature that the thing won't turn on unless the door is closed. I've been using duct tape to keep the door in place.
This trap works, but its cheaply made. If you buy one check it out right away to make sure it works.

My apartment building gets mice every winter and in the past every trap I have tried, if it worked, took forever. Even getting a cat hasn't helped. I finally broke down and got this trap today and YES! SUCCESS! I have had it set up for about 2 hours and it has already got a mouse. I am going to get another one just to make sure I get them all. Definitely money well spent.

I love this mouse trap. I have killed 7 mice in 2 days. I've never had that much luck with the snap traps...and I hate having to touch the traps after the kill. With this trap you never have to touch anything, just open the door, throw it out, and reset. Thank you!!!

We had previously used the Victor Electronic Mouse Trap, but Hurricane Ike took 'em to the Gulf. We recently noticed sounds of these critters, and to our surprise the traps were no where to be found in our local stores. After checking prices online we found the best price was Home Depot. The product literally sells itself!! No muss, no fuss, a little dab of peanut butter at the end, 4 triple A batteries, and our current count is 4. Seems we acquired a small family of mice while searching for these wonderful traps. No worry of children getting their fingers caught, no loud snaps that make you jump, just effective, quiet rodent control. I ordered 4 to keep on hand for work or the garage. Have only had to use one in the area they seemed to have gotten into the house. Buy more than one!!

Since we feed wild birds, we have had problems with mice eating the seed, and trying to move into our home. We do not use poisons, and feel that there must be an effective way to compromise with all creatures. So, the uninvited who try to access our home, need to be removed. This mousetrap is worth its weight in gold. It is clean, it does not harm the environment, it is effective, and humane. We refer to ours as "Old Sparky", a tribute to the execution equipment of days past. However, with just 4 AA batteries, it really doesn't spark. The alert is effective, so we don't need to wonder, and it is reusable. When one looks at the cost of other traps, or their style, the Victor Electronic Mousetrap is phenomenal.
This is my second Victor. I recommend it without hesitation for any and all.

I bought this electric mouse trap after reading all the rave reviews here. Not sure why my experience differed from theirs, but after 10 nights, it has caught nothing. And, in the meantime, I still spot mouse droppings just inches away from the trap. I baited it with peanut butter on a few occasions, chocolate on others, even bread. Nothing. Maybe it's just a really savvy mouse, because now it's avoiding the basic mouse traps that have the wooden base, as well. Spending a couple of dollars on those is one thing, but $20 on this one? What a total waste of money.

I bought two of these based on the outstanding reviews. I bated with peanut butter and placed on top of my foundation wall where I have seen mice running. After three weeks, not a single mouse caught.
I then went out and bought a 4-pack of Victor plain old mousetraps for a couple bucks (Model # M032) from Home Depot. Bated with peanut butter and placed directly next to the electronic traps, they have caught 4 mice each night for 3 nights running (12 total so far). Electronic traps: 0 mice caught.
for the price of the two electronic traps, I could have purchased 80 of the regular mouse traps. I call that a waste of money.
Yes, I recommend this product.

My 3 car attached garage is a little more cluttered than I would like. As I was cleaning up, I caught a glimpse of a scurrying critter out of the corner of my eye a couple of times. I picked up 2 of these traps this afternoon & had caught a mouse within the first 5 hours of use. Forget the dangerous & messy snap traps and/or poison.
This is clean & fast. I simply spread a little peanut butter on the back wall, set it next to a wall, and turned it on. I saw a flashing green light indicating a kill. I opened the hinged door, flipped the mouse out into a trash can, closed the door, & set the trap back on the floor for the next round of hunting. You never have to touch the mouse, reset a spring loaded bar, fuss with chemicals, etc. Plus, I have no interest in feeding mice poison and having them climb into my walls to die & rot.
It's a fantastic product at a very reasonable price. The only possible downside I see is that you have to empty the trap before it can be used to catch another mouse. Of course, this is true for most traps on the market. Victor does offer an electronic trap that holds up to 10 mice before you have to empty it. However, it costs over 5 times as much as this product. It's tough to get too excited about such an unpleasant chore, but this product makes it so much more pleasant for a homeowner.
Yes, I recommend this product.

We got a Victor Electronic mouse trap for home and within 24 hours we had caught 2 mice! I am absolutely petrified of mice and can't bring myself to touch a snap mouse trap so when I saw this I was thoroughly excited! It worked so well at home that I am recommending them to my employer so we can have the same success at work! Thank you Victor for this awesome, amazing, fabulous, fantastic creation!!
