A lot of high reviews, which I can only attribute to short ownership periods.
We bought two of these to go by our front gate.
Comments on installation requirements is not really relevant. Our gate is 1,000ft from the house, so I knew it was going to be a big job laying the cable.
You need a solid concrete base. I dug a 2 foot hole, then used the top section of a 10 gallon bucket to form a perfectly round form for the concrete base. After the concrete set up I removed the top of the bucket, leaving me a nice round area of the concrete that the lamps would bolt on to.

The black paint has faded to a dark gray. I wish these had been powder coated instead of painted.
One on lamp, one of the lamp arms has a tendency to tilt slightly during strong winds. With no way to tighten the arm enough to stop movement, this is annoying to have to straighten it by hand.
Given the price, I suppose the quality is acceptable. When the time comes to change these I will invest in a better quality product. These lamps are the first things guests see when they visit, so I'd like them to be elegant.

Living in the country, and with no street lighting, we use three 23w CFL light bulbs in each lamp. Each 23w CFL gives off the same amount of light as a standard 100w bulb. So we have 600w of lighting. This is more than enough to light that area at night.
Cons: Appearance, painted instead of powder coated

I thought the storm that blew through about 6 hrs after finishing install would test my install abilities but it withstood the storm. Honestly how do you take down a bolted light other than a hurricane or a tornado. The 100 watt bulbs are too bright but 75 will work great! according to the online process, the light was not in store anywhere in a 100 mile radius. however going to my local home depot strolling the outdoor lights there it was! Love the light! Trying to figure out another application for one in my backyard.

We are pleased with our purchase. Although we are not exactly "handy", with the help of our "handy" neighbor, we were able to install the light.

This lamp post has an upscale/elegant look and the price is right! I have received numerous compliments from the neighbors on how good it look. Most importantly, it shine bright and provide the added security in the front yard. The assembly was easy; poured concrete to stabilized/secure lamp post. Installed a light sensor which automatically turns-on when the sun goes down and turns off when it comes back up.

I purchased this lamp becuase I need extra lighting at my wedding reception. The quality is so GREAT that we are purchasing 2 more. We wired a cord to them so we can plug in outside and move around. They are classic, sturdy and give off up to 300 watts of light! I would reccommend this lamp to anyone looking for nice ambiance and added character to their front or back yard!!

Purchased product and it accented my new landscaping very well. All of the neighbors love it. Did have one issue with a missing part, but one call to customer service solved my issue. They shipped out the part the same week. Would greatly recommend all Hampton Bay products.

It's a great lamp post. Very good quality & style. You just need to prepare yourself for alot of work. Pouring the concrete footing, running power to it & wiring it.

Purchased this light and attached it to my deck, it is perfect. Very well made, has the look and materials of lights costing much more money. Instructions are easy to follow, took me about a half hour to assemble. Comes with everything needed including light bulbs. It worked out so well I will be purchasing another.

The post light was very easy to place together and all parts fix and aligned up perfectly. There was no need to re-drill, or force fittings to accept connections. The post light appears to be more expensive than the actual cost. I have received many compliments of how great the lamp looks and everyone that visits says the lamp post draws their attention.

They look great and are easy to install. My only issue was with the fixture having some damage due to shipping or handling in the warehouse. It was not enough damage to warrant a return. The fixture is made from a cheaper pot type metal but it still looks good and should be fine for years. I had to replace one of four I had due to storm damage.

The light not only illuminated the lush landscaping, it also added peace of mind. After installing a security camera, I needed to add light for video purposes. The lamppost is perfect. Lights, camera, smile! It's a beautiful solution.

Had it installed by a qualified electrican. It replaced an existing lamp post that was acting up with the rain shorting it out and blowing out bulbs before they should. This lamp post both looks great and puts out a lot of light.
