My electric log has been running smoothly for the last 2 months and looks like real logs in my wood burning fireplace. I live in a warm climate and wanted to use my fireplace more often for atmosphere and this serves that purpose perfectly.

It is just too cute and perfect!! It sounds and looks like the real thing. I have an old couple that has an old faux fireplace and this was their Christmas gift.
They loved it, hope this will help you decide. By the way, DO NOT use a blub over the wattage recommended - will burn the plastic. Thanks for reading!!

After reading all the reviews I decided to get this one. I was fully prepared to have to mess with it to get it just right but to my surprise, it worked great with no tweeking. It fooled my husband at first until I told him. I have it in my fireplace with the screen shut in front and an extension cord attached with an on/off switch on it. Perfect!

Received this online purchase very quickly! This was exactly what I was looking for in a electric fireplace insert. I was so disappointed it wouldn't fit into my woodstove! It would have been a perfect alternative to messy wood fires. Great Quality!

Real fire die-hards - searching gas and other options for years for a stone fireplace. But hated to give up the real fire option (when the mood strikes) and needed an alternative for day to day. Skeptical of this log set at first-but for the price-why not try it (we thought)? Turns out this log set is a riot - read some blogs on customizing-added some bark, and wood to tweak the view for more of a real flame effect (it looks pretty convincing now), foil in back for reflection, muffled the whir to hear the crackle-and this thing is a BEST BUY! before scoffing-get creative-and have some fun brightening a dark fireplace for less than dinner for two at a nice restaurant! We would like to encourage the home company to see if they can go the extra yard on this one (quietermotor, little higher flame shine, uneven the logs a bit so they do not look so strict) for the future-but for now, this thing sure made our room seem warmer!

I had gone to a fireplace specialty store and they wanted 3 times the price for this and the grate. I decided to purchase this one (and a grate) at Home Depot and boy was I one happy customer!!! These logs are beautiful and very well crafted.... Very realistic looking. This product has a light crackling sound to it and when you read the directions it gives you tips on how to make the crackling sound somewhat louder.... Faux flames appear on the back of your fireplace opening which make it look like a "crackling fire" and a little fireplace "movement" going on. Motor sound is very quiet. In my opinion this is a very well made piece-- so well made that I purchased another one. I had been without this type of product for a few years and now my fireplace has literally "come back to life". I never want to be without these logs again!!! Thanks for giving me back the "ambience of a realistic fire" in my faux fireplace this Christmas....Happy Holidays to All!!! Here's a tip-- even if you don't have a faux fireplace it would look nice in a bookcase, on a table, even used as a centerpiece... etc...just about anywhere you would like a little fireplace crackling going on especially for the holidays...

we have a mock fireplace and for 5 years we had candle holders and out the blue my asked for wood in the fireplace. other than buying the grate apart from the setup this thing is pretty cool in our tiny fireplace. we finally have a little life in the living room next to the christmas tree and home theater setup. cant go wrong for the price. uses a rotary type switch so its easy to turn of and on and the cord is surprising long enough for any means.

We are in the process of moving, and our new home has a shallow faux fireplace that needed something to make it more "homey". We purchased this (should have read the reviews--grate not included!!), then purchased a grate and a screen and OMG it looks like the real thing! I have always had a working fireplace, and honestly, this is so much better for us and my allergies. No mess, no fuss and everyone who has seen it thinks it's the real thing. GREAT PRODUCT!

The Electric Crackling Log is quite satisfactory. I needed an artificial electric log that produced no heat. This log warms you up by just seeing and listening to it. Some artificial logs may be better but at this low price, it does not disappoint.

i was satsfied with the log - looked pretty true-to-life. the downside was it had a horrible smell when it was on, apparently from the light bulb heating up the plastic film (which gives it the crackling effect). i was hoping the smell would wear off but it didn't. ended up returning. the return was no hassle. wished it would have worked out. :-(
