The unit only lasted a year and half and as you can read on previous reviews buy warranty since the average life span is between six month and a year and half. no comparison to profile series.

Same as others who've posted here. Looks great. Works for awhile, but stops working right after 1-year warranty expires. GE has some of the most arrogant customer service reps I've ever had to speak with. The oven will cost more to repair than to just buy new. The magnatron stops working - which means the microwave will not heat.

The fan comes on whenever you cook anything in the microwave, and it cannot be turned off. Also, it is extremely sensitive to anything you are cooking on the stove top. Fan comes on when I have two pots on the stove, even with the windows open. And the fan stays on for a LONG time. We have resorted to unplugging the micro because the fan would not go off all through dinner. It is very, very loud. Can't hear the tv in the living room when the fan is on. It is also very cheap material and takes a long time to heat anything. We are returning it, even though we have to pay a restocking fee, because we cannot tolerate this. In short do not buy this microwave, it is a bad product.

This was purchased as a replacement (the old GE lasted 10 years) as a Christmas gift in 2011. Almost 4 months to the day, it stopped working! GE is making an inferior product. This was purchased as an upgraded version of the original and my son was worried that another brand wouldn't fit the space. Wish I had went with another brand. Now I need to figure out if it is still under warranty and if I can get it fixed.

Not only does this microwave look beautiful, but it has many features which make it easy to use. It is powerful and cooks things quickly and I like the convenience of the carousel as my old microwave did not have one. I also like the light that it has to illuminate the stovetop. It provides more than enough light for any task, plus the light has a lower setting so that it can be used as a night light. I'm very pleased with this purchase and you can't beat the price.

we purchased this and in less than 6 months we need the digital pad replaced b/c it stopped working. 6 months after it was replaced (and my warranty was now over) it broke again. The only button that works is the potato or popcorn button and you have to time it with another timer. ridiculous!

We needed this one to replace a damaged microwave, but the one we had was no longer made by GE, but we were told this was the "upgrade" version. The price was fine, but when we installed it we noticed it makes a lot of noise when it is in use. The fan seems to be really strong and can be annoying when heating for a long time. Which is the second issue as what usually took us 1 - 1.5 min to heat now takes 2 - 2.5 to heat. Yes, an extra 30-60 sec should not be a lot, but energy costs will slowly increase as this is now our norm. Unfortunately I would not recommend this "upgrade" to anyone.

Purchased in 2009. Had to have the main board and fan blower replaced just before the warranty expired in 2010. Now it just failed again - first the blower then the whole thing quit. No use repairing if it will only last another year or so. No more GE products for me.

it was a pretty close match to the existing GE spacemaker it was replacing. The top side mounting holes were in totally different spot so I had to drill new holes in my cabinet :( also this one vents the air out of the recirculating mode totally different than the old GE spacemaker it replaced.

Replaced my 9 1/2 year old Whirlpool microwave with the GE, stainless steel, very easy to install. It is much louder as the reviews say. But it works and look great. For the price it's was a great way to update my kitchen. Love It.

The reason this microwave didn't get an excellent is because my tenant has commented that it is much louder than the Frigidaire it replaced. After 5 years my Frigidaire died and so my search began for a replacement. I checked out all the microwaves in Home Depot before I decided on this one. It's for my condo that I rent out and I didn't want to go too pricey, but not too cheap. The look and feel is much better than Maytag or Hotpoint, LG had a nice one that I think would have been a good alternative as well. Great asthetics, easy to use console, and very robust recirculating fan. The light underneath is in the middle of the unit which is great for adding some illuminescence to the cooktop. Maytag's light is in the rear of the unit and many people didn't like that. The added rack, ability to stop the turntable, and once touch cooking along with the price made this microwave a must have.

Bought this recently, had it installed and when I turned it on, I thought the fan was on high. It was so loud and noisy, that I could not hear the TV set in the family room. I previously had a GE which lasted for 7 years. It just went out would not heat, everything else worked. Wish I was able to get the same one. I liked it. The panels on this one are small and it does not heat very well.
