This one-piece frame construction is designed as a surface mount and sits outside the fireplace opening against a flat surface. A Fireplace Glass Door assists in reducing heat loss or cool air loss up the chimney by as much as 90% which equals a year-round energy savings when the fireplace is not in use. Pleasant Hearth Fireplace Glass Doors all come with easy grip handles, hidden damper control knobs for air flow control, and heat-resistant thick insulation. Always keep mesh panels closed and glass doors open when fire is burning in fireplace. For masonry fireplaces only; not for prefabricated. Made in the USA.

This product is solidly built and very easy to install. It took about 45 minutes from unpacking to completion. The instructions were mostly clear, although I had to double check a couple of times to ensure I was installing it correctly. You can also go to the manufacturer's website and see a video on installation which is helpful.
The overall look of the door is modern and fits our fireplace perfectly. It gave it an updated look without spending a lot of time or money.

I was really happy with the quality of this product. It was securely wrapped and shipping only took a couple of days. I installed the fireplace door in less than an hour with no help. I would recommend this door or others similiar to upgrade your own fireplace. Good Luck!!

Home Depot sells this fireplace door under $200, $50-70 cheaper than other comparable models. It took a bit over 2 hours to get it installed. I would be much faster if I didn't have to be super quiet in the night when my young kid already fell into sleep. It was well made. It's simple and neat.

My boyfriend and I are very pleased with this product, This truely brought our room together. We cannot wait to try it out in the winter time. As of now, it keeps our 9 month old out of the fireplace. A bit pricey, but I think it is worth every penny.

Was amazed at how quick it was delivered - it shipped immediately after I ordered & arrived the next day. The doors look great I just wish the weather had cooperated & been a little colder so I could have built a fire but there's always next winter.

Took my relative's insert because they live in town and can no longer burn wood. I replaced it with this fireplace glass door. Made of very good quality. Accidentally dropped it while installing and no damage was done. Looks perfect in their living room. They are not using it for an actual fire but for appearance it works like a charm.

Installed relatively quickly (about an hour of taking everthing carefully out of the box and installing). This gives my family room a nice finish and keeps the cold draft out.

The doors were easy to install and look great. The instructions were easy to follow and right on.
We have not used it yet, as in we have not lit a fire, so I can not speak to how well it 'works' and I have some question about smoke leaking out between the edges and the mortar gaps between the bricks. If this does seem to be a problem I plan to use some of the extra insulation in the gaps or some non-expanding sealing foam.

I would have given it 5 stars but the on one we received, one of the doors doesn't magnet shut.... so thats a little annoying if you are a perfectionist...
