The installation guide is incomprehensible in some areas. Testing the unit is not well described; I ended up with water everywhere. But it IS fairly quiet and does a good job cleaning dishes. The racks have too many spines; can't get in wine glasses, bowls (more than 1) or pots and pans. But it IS compact, so there are trade-offs.

I have a small space but a big need for a dishwasher. This meets all the criteria. Everything comes out clean. We use the phosphate free cleansers and things are coming out perfect. Everyone notices how cute and little it is, but the space is adequate for a family of 4.

It gets the dishes clean, long cycle for a small appliance, sure wish it came with a power cord. Anyway, in general, not bad.

We picked this one, mainly because we didn't have a dishwasher before and had no cabinet space to allow for a 24" full sized dishwasher and figured a small one is better than none. It was easy to install, even from scratch which I did. As far as the performance goes, It washes the dishes pretty well, even pots and pans, though they don't fit very easily in there if they are large or round. It has plenty of space for flat plates, but bowls and baking dishes are at times awkward. For instance a full size cookie sheet will not fit at all. The drying performance on this model however is marginal at best. The heated dry feature does make a difference, but the dishes are still wet at the end of the cycle. Overall, for my 3 member family, it fits the need and reduces our post dinner clean up time significantly, but I would advise anyone who can possibly use a full 24" dishwasher do so, as they will be somewhat disappointed by the capacity of this one.

I searched several small dishwashers and decided on the GE. It is quiet and I am pleased with the amount of dishes that it holds. The tub holds tall items also. It cleans very well. I am very happy with the quality of this product and I am glad I made this purchase.

My son is living in our guest house and he's not much for hand=washing dishes. We bought this portable dishwasher for him. It holds more than you might think, but it takes up a lot of the counter space in the small kitchen. I'd just say it's just OK. It does the job and suits someone who won't hand wash the dishes. Years ago we had a different portable dishwasher on wheels and I liked that a lot better. If you have the floor space, I'd suggest getting one of those instead.

When my husband took the dishes out of this dishwasher the first time my husband said, "Gosh you have to see these dishes and the silverware. The dishes no longer have the dull look and the silverware sparkles with no water marks. I didn't know that it would make such a difference."

It's a little smaller than my old dishwasher. Seems to work a little better. Installation from Home Depot was excellent and flawless. I would order from HD again. Only time will tell whether this DW is any good.

It is 18", but not too small thanks to the design. It works as well as the standard size. The inside look, stainless steel, is very great. Overall, it surely won't disappoint you.

I haven't had a dishwasher since 1998. As a single person household - it didn't seem that big a deal to wash dishes by hand. Plus I have a small ranch style house built in the 60s and cabinet space is at a premium. A friend of mine has this dishwasher installed at her house and I loved the look and the fact it didn't take up that much space.
I've owned it for 6 months and now wonder how I ever lived without it. Yes - I lost an 19" cabinet but I gained counter top space as I don't have a dish rack taking up any room.
My dishes get clean and it's easy to use. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it does seem to take a long time to wash even in the 'short wash' setting. But with that said - I love having clean dishes and not having to wash them by hand anymore.

After 65 & 57 years on the planet, we decided to take the leap and get our first dishwasher. Our 45 minutes at the sink each night was great for an end of the day get together, but hey, there must be something else you can do after dinner.
It fit nicely in the small space we had for it, and installation was pretty easy, and the thing actually works. Who knew! So far I give it a 4 star thumbs up. I'd a given it a 5 but it would have to load itself for that. It's a bit tight for pots and pans, but everything else fits just fine. I'm a happy old-schooler (now maybe a microwave?).

We bought the Spacemaker to replace the original, built-in dishwasher in our RV. It cleans far better than our original dishwasher. The racks are much more convenient to use, too. We would recommend this dishwasher to anyone that needs an 18" dishwasher.

There aren't many choices out there for an 18" profile dishwasher so I was concerned that I would be stuck with so-so quality just to be able to have one in the space I needed. As it turns out, the Spacemaker is quiet and effective. Leaves our glasses spotless and the dishes clean. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing an 18" dishwasher solution.

We purchased this compact dishwasher for our media room. It works great and is just the right size for the purpose of the purchase. While small, it is perfect for beverage glasses, popcorn bowls, and small cleanups and the occassional dinner plate used while watching movies/TV. It is quiet, cleans well, and perfect for the smaller kitchen area. Also will function well for the overflow during large gatherings. I would purchase for any area where space is a premium.

We have a very small kitchen and desperately needed a dishwasher installed. This was the perfect size. Delivery was quick and efficient. It takes a while for the cycle to run, it can be loud, but does the job. No more dishpan hands!

We bought a house that did not have a dishwasher nor the space for one. We decided to use a compact size dishwasher rather than a kitchen remodel! I have to say this lil washer has impressed me and made my life easier! I know all washers make great claims to remove food but this one DOES IT! I have tested it myself! Peanut butter gone, grease gone, last nights dinner-GONE! All this without residue on other dishes because it has separate washbars(top rack, bottom rack).

Dishwasher does the job, does look nice in my small kitchen. I replaced my small 18 inch portable dishwasher a Danby with this Ge built in. It is much quieter than my old dishwasher and does do a fantastic job of washing the dishes. Does look a bit cheap and flimsy as compared to my old unit. It also does not hold bigger items very well. I would have liked to have had a bottom basket with fold down rack to accomadate those bigger items.

The dishwasher is very quiet and does a good job of cleaning the contents (ours are mainly silverware, dishes and glasses).
My problem is with the construction of the product. Frame is sheetmetal and not very rigid. Mounting under standard heigth counter I had to extend the very flimsy adjustable levelers nearly 2 1/2". When closing the door the machine had a tendency to 'dance' around in the opening. I ended up placing spacers between the dishwasher and adjoining cabinets, drilling holes through the sheetmetal framework and running screws into the cabinets to keep the machine stable and properly spaced from the cabinets on either side.
My old Kenmore (20 years) was much better built. I guess that's a sign of the times !!

Only had this dishwasher one week, but so far it appears as good as advertised. Delivery was on time and hassle free. Installation was straight forward. Operation is smooth, with no more than typical noise. Able to handle good number of dishes for its small size.
