I wanted to stick with a coil model, since I cook mostly with cast iron and enamel covered cast iron. This model is a consumer reports recommended and best buy, and I love it. I can boil a cup of water in under two minutes with these dense coils, and the racks and bowls are very nice. The window is huge and easy to see in, and the oven capacity is simply amazing.

I've been using this product for the past several months and I really like it, cooks well, looks great, love the oven light and the price was good. The Stainless Steel cleans up without any effort, the black top is a little harder to keep clean but they all have black tops in SS electric stoves.
Consumer Reports voted GE the best. I do have to test the oven temperature seems to be abit off. I'm very pleased with performance and looks great. Homedepot delivery people were fantastic.

We recently moved and needed to purchase a new range. Our previous range was a glass top, looked very nice but my wife was unhappy with the chore of cleaning the glass top. She also was not to happy with the overall cooking ability. Would probably rated the range as average. Now the new range has completely satisfied all her requirements, Here is the kicker, the range top is coil not glass. She loves how quickly the coils boil water and cook period. The drip pans are easy to clean and from what I understand it is much easier and cheaper to replace the individual coils as to repair a glass top. So if you are not that concerned about the appearance of the cooking surface this range is an excellent choice.

We've had the unit for about a month now and so far so good. It was amazing to find this product because we didn't really want to go with a smooth top and also didn't want to go through the hassle of setting up propane connection since we are an all-electric house out in the boonies. Our kitchen doubles as an entry way so I wanted to stay with the coil top because of the abuse of all the stuff that goes on top when we use the stove as a counter top. I also have a lot of heavy cast iron cookware so I didn't feel like always being conscious of how I drop and bang my pots and pans while I'm cooking.
But all the other coil top models available on display in almost all the stores, including Home Depot, also just showed the basic white colors, so I was just really sooo happy when we found this model in stainless steel.
I use it everyday, and the oven is amazing, spacious and accurate.
It doesn't have all the bells and whistles out in the market, but what it does have, is what I like anyway, like the cook timer and the over timer.
Just for looks alone I can give this 10 stars.
We paired it with a Broan overhead vent in stainless steel also and a stainless steel backsplash. It's amazing what a little bling bling can do to an 80's kitchen =) LOVE IT!!!

I've had and used this range for over a year now - and would buy the exact same one. (Research pays!)
The oven preheats to 450 in just under 11 minutes. (It reaches 430 by the preheat beep signal at 10 minutes.) The porcelain drip pans and oven shelves can be cleaned in the self-clean oven. With GE's double element bake and TrueTemp, I do not miss my old grill/downdraft range with convection oven. Even when baking a doubled recipe of biscuits, both sheets come out tender and nicely browned. The oven truly stays an even temperature throughout which is amazing since it's so spacious. I LOVE the huge window! The oven, when cut off, stays 80 to 85 degrees when the oven light is left on with the door closed. This is the PERFECT temperature for making yeast breads rise.
The large surface elements have the power to boil HUGE quantities of water for canning purposes. The right rear element is over the oven vent and, when OFF, reaches 300 degrees when the oven is at 450 - so in a way you have a simmer burner when the oven is on without having to pay extra for one.
The bottom drawer feels solid and sturdy. This one, as well as most newer stoves, contains a computer chip. Therefore, we had our electric company install a whole house surge protector to prevent any problems with surges.
We've had absolutely no problems with our stove.
Performance A+ for less $$$! Performs better and is easier to clean than my old $$$$ slide-in range.

This range is perfect for what I need. It heats up very quickly and has all the nice features on the digital controls that I wanted (timer, baking time, etc). The porcelain drip pans are not as easy to clean as I would have expected though.

2 large coil burners will not get hot enough to cook. Factory repair person came out today and said I have 2 bad switches, which I am not really buying. Now I get to wait another week for the parts. If there are indeed 2 bad switches then that speaks volumes about GE quality, if not I am going to have to find out how the return this thing. No more internet buying for large ticket items for me.

I purchased this range in December 2008 and it has worked better than I expected, not to mention it looks absolutely fantastic! I love the big oven window and the oven racks are very sturdy.
The oven cooks cakes evenly round and to a beautiful golden brown. It bakes chicken and meat in much less time than my older oven range I replaced, as it should.
Cleanup is a breeze...just wipe with a towel lightly suds with dishwashing liquid, rinse wipe down, and quickly dry/polish with a lent-free cloth or paper towel and my range top is still looking brand new. I also like that the knobs can be removed for easy wiping down the stainless steel back panel.
If there were more than 5 stars I would select whatever the highest number is...for me this range has been an EXCELLENT CHOICE!!!

I love this range! I purchased to replace a previous GE range. Great oven capacity, accurate controls/bake temps. I also purchased coil range as I do not care for the smooth top ranges or Gas. The SS styling matches my Kitchenaid Dishwasher and Whirlpool Over the range Micro. I have not tried the Oven Cleaning option yet. Also I got the Free Delivery/Free haul away. The installers were AWESOME!!! They brought it in, measured, installed, bracketed, tested and leveled. Wonderful home depot experience - everything I expected and more.
