"I loved the price, but ...
The cold and hot settings are backwards

"just bought the admiral, had one before worked great. i thought i would try whilpool from advice from an friend when my old admirl finally died. i had to have the transmittion replaced 5 times in the whilpool. end up buying a frigidar. had to get it replaced do to walking,(bad vibration problems) the new one had an walking problem .(same problem)washer only 2yrs old, so now im back with admiral. i dont forsee any problems and have faith going back to a brand i can trust . only gave 4 stars because this one dosn't have all the bells and whisles. but i don't want bells and whisles , i just want to wash my clothes and not worry about things walking or clunching noises."

"purchased this washer last week, i just had them come pick up the third one since the original purchase. something in the control panel switches the water to hot half way through the cycle,no matter what water temp washer is set at.with the price of utilities and clothes these days unless you want all your clothes washed and rinse in hot water this particular lot(may not be all of this brand) has a major defect"

"I bought an Admiral Washer and Dryer from Home Depot just about one year ago. I just wanted the bare minimum, so I went with that set. While they obviously don't have all the special settings or energy efficiency that you'll get by paying a bit more money, they suit me just fine. Granted, I only do one or so load of laundry per week, so I'm not sure how they'd hold up under heavier use... The only issue I've really had is with the washer - occasionally, a cycle won't complete and will get stuck on the last rinse/spin. When that happens, I just set the knob a little bit forwards or backwards, and it's usually fine."

Excellent Washer,

"I've owned this washer and the Admiral electric dryer for over a year. I bought them because they were rated well by Consumer Reports and they were cheap. I've never had a minute's trouble - the washer has a large capacity, plenty of settings, and gets my clothes clean. I've owned Whirlpools all my life and they are no better than this. Perhaps this one won't last 20 years like my Whirlpool did, but for the low price I paid, that's OK with me."

What a Nuisance,
October 17, 2007
By UnikeTheHunter

"I bought a $299 Admiral three years ago. Every year the pump goes out. Now the transmission is howling and grinding. And it always shredded my clothes and made lots of lint. This Admiral needs to go on a short ocean voyage."
