This microwave worked great until last night when it stopped heating completely. We bought a brand-new house with all GE Profile appliances and have been very unhappy with them...the dishwasher, fridge(a very high-end one), oven and, now, our microwave. All have major issues...some very soon after purchase. Since some were under warranty we had a GE repairman come to fix them but they never improved. If we didn't want everything to "match" we would forget about GE forever.

we bought a new home and the GE profile appliances came in the home, the microwave didn't even make 2 years, so I had to order another to fit and match the rest of appliances, when the time comes when we have to upgrade I will not be purchacing ge appliances with what I've seen whith poor quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1st microwave I've purchased, even though I've had a few over the past 15 years at least. Always been given older units from relatives. Biggest thing I didn't realize was capacity. I thought the previous units were 2 cubic feet untill this arrived. Takes up much more counter space, should have looked at it's dimensions. No biggie, it's probably more efficient than the older/smaller units.

We purchased this unit a little over a year ago and the magnetron just failed (the part that makes the unit heat up food). Even with the part covered under warranty, our cost to repair the microwave is over half the purchase cost of a new one. Would not recommend this product because it is not reliable and the manufacturer's warranty doesn't help when the product fails.

First the light stopped coming on after just three months of use. Now it has stopped heating, seems like a faulty door switch. It is hardly 18 mos old.

It stopped working after 18 months. The repairs are outside the warranty so GE wants to charge me MORE than the value of a new microwave to fix it.

This microwave warms food items in nothing flat, however, when microwaving over 4 to 5 minutes the interior of the door steams up. It dissipates after 10 to 15 minutes,but it makes me nervous that there may be a leak in the seal.

I purchased this microwave to replace our 7 year old GE Profile that burned out. 7 years may not seem like a lot to some, but that microwave was used a lot, and almost caught on fire because my son heated pizza too long. Charred the pizza and broke the plate. I'd say that the old one was used and abused.
We have all GE Profile appliances, and purchased this microwave to match the others. The newer design does not completely match the old design, but changes in design are typical of any manufacturer. It looks a little odd that the clock led is a different shade of green and the key pad design is different than my oven, but nothing that is too outrageous. The oven is powerful and heats food very well. It's a nice size inside and the back is rounded so it may even fit a small turkey, or larger casserole dish. This has many functions and I haven't even been able to use them all yet. In time I will and don't expect to be disappointed.
My only complaint, and I will be speaking with GE, is that the design change from my old model to the new model requires a new trim kit. At $200, I feel that this is ridiculous to have to pay just so that my new microwave looks just as nice as my old one did as a built in. I have been able to build a wooden frame for under the microwave so that I am able to use the upper brace and outside of my old trim kit, but there is no way to anchor the bottom. I'm sure that I will figure out some way to anchor the bottom, but feel that this is an unnecessary change on GE's part.
4 Stars because of the trim kit problem.

This microwave works great and it it easy to clean and operate. Much better than the Kitchen Aid we had before. Trim kit also looks great.

I was very hesitant to buy this microwave after reading that it had bad reviews. But it was the only one we could buy because we needed one with the trim kit feature. I tell you what. It is a great microwave ! ! Great design,..nice look,..nice features, and contrary to what the person who gave this unit a bad review said,..it is very a quiet machine and does not vibrate as they had stated on the first reviews.
So I am very happy with this microwave over all.

very good micro wave for the price- we use it for standard stuff- heating up bottles, popcorn coffe so it definetly serves its purpose and our budget...we built ours in so it looks very nice.:)

I purchased this microwave without reading reviews. My mistake! Like the other reviewers, the device was loud from the start. But after 2.5 months, it begin to vibrate badly and finally just stopped heating after 3 months. I am returning it today.

We bought GE Profile appliances because we wanted them all to match in our kitchen. Home Depot reps were great, but I discovered that GE appliances basically stink. This microwave is a good example-heres why:
1. Although the Profile line supposedly "match" the digital displays dont. I now have an oven and a microwave with different color displays. Perhaps this wouldnt bother some people, but its poor engineering work on GEs part.
2. The microwave is loud and vibrates-it actually "pops" louder when it starts up, than the 20 yr old Jenn-Air Im replacing.
3. There are loud clicking noises all over the place-maybe this unit is defective, but I dont believe so-its just the way its made>poorly.
So, I wouldnt recommend this product-I also would NOT recommend any of the GE Profile line, unless you want loud, expensive, poorly made products.

I just purchased this product as it has a built in capacity or countertop use. I unpackaged this last night and used it on my countertop and glad I did before I built it into my wall.
This oven vibrates countertops, walls, and my floor and is very loud. The manual says "humming is normal". The humming was so loud my dogs went crazy! You could feel the vibration standing on the floor! I can only imagine how much more vibration there would be if built in.
It does have nice features but due to the above,
I would NOT recommend this product!!!
