Bought all new matching GE Profile appliances for the kitchen and now my microwave went out after only 18 months. Was told it's going to cost more to fix then what we paid for it. We were going to buy another one so everything would still match and we woldn't have to buy another trim kit, but after looking at all the other reviews looks like I'm not the only dissatisfied customer with this product. Haven't been happy with my GE dishwasher either.

Seeing some reviews are enlightening. Some say theirs only lasted 18 or 24 months. Mine only lasted 5 weeks! Unit wont turn off unless you unplug it. The light, motor, and rotating plate are on all the time, but no microwave heat. Not good at all.

This unit worked for 2 years, first the light went out, then moisture started to build up in it, now it quit heating anything. Definitely will not purchase another GE product. Found out it would cost way more to fix than it is worth.

This microwave worked great until last night when it stopped heating completely. We bought a brand-new house with all GE Profile appliances and have been very unhappy with them...the dishwasher, fridge(a very high-end one), oven and, now, our microwave. All have major issues...some very soon after purchase. Since some were under warranty we had a GE repairman come to fix them but they never improved. If we didn't want everything to "match" we would forget about GE forever.

we bought a new home and the GE profile appliances came in the home, the microwave didn't even make 2 years, so I had to order another to fit and match the rest of appliances, when the time comes when we have to upgrade I will not be purchacing ge appliances with what I've seen whith poor quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1st microwave I've purchased, even though I've had a few over the past 15 years at least. Always been given older units from relatives. Biggest thing I didn't realize was capacity. I thought the previous units were 2 cubic feet untill this arrived. Takes up much more counter space, should have looked at it's dimensions. No biggie, it's probably more efficient than the older/smaller units.

I received the Microwave and had to call for service immediately due to the machine running very loud and not closing correctly. I am not happy with the purchase but the service was very good. They had to come out twice and I have only had the microwave for 3 weeks.

We purchased this unit a little over a year ago and the magnetron just failed (the part that makes the unit heat up food). Even with the part covered under warranty, our cost to repair the microwave is over half the purchase cost of a new one. Would not recommend this product because it is not reliable and the manufacturer's warranty doesn't help when the product fails.

I understand everything is disposable these days, I mean why else would it cost more to buy parts for something than to replace the appliance? It was a great microwave and worked fine right up to the point that it quit. I think it should have lasted for more then three years, but I'm old. I could have paid $79.95 to have a GE tech come look at it and tell me it needed a new control board which apparently costs $209.00 plus labor to install, but that made no sense to me, of course neither does trowing a three year old appliance in the landfill.

What a HUGE Disappointment!!! I was very excited to find this size in this color in September of 09 and by March of 2011 it just stopped working and I had to buy another one so I'm trying a different brand this time...:(

It stopped working after 18 months. The repairs are outside the warranty so GE wants to charge me MORE than the value of a new microwave to fix it.

This is the biggest microwave I could find in Bisque - large enough for a small turkey! Fits fine on the counter at our office and is more quiet than our last one. Quick delivery on time and friendly delivery person.
