"This is the quietest washer we have ever owned. It does a great job with the clothes and I'm looking forward to the energy savings. I would recommend this model in a heartbeat."

Quality you'd expect from Maytag.,
March 30, 2009
"This washer is built solid, and performs well. It is quiet, and does an excellent job at cleaning, just as most Maytag washers do (speaking from personal experience!). The biggest thing I was disappointed in, is that the Epic Z washers, unlike the original Maytag front-loaders (the Neptunes), are not designed to handle regular detergents... you MUST use the High-Efficiency (HE) detergents. The Maytag Neptune models recommended HE detergents, but would allow you to use regular detergents, if you chose to do so. This is not a huge issue, but if you are accustomed to a particular detergent that is not available in the HE formula, you may not appreciate this fact. However, in Maytag's defense, most (if not all) front-loaders produced today have the same issue - the Neptunes were an exception to the rule. I just wish they had kept that compatibility feature in the Epic Z models. The only other gripe I had with this washer (and the dryer alike), is that the control panel attracts dust very quickly, as it is made of a glossy-plastic. This wouldn't be as big an issue on the white colored models, but on the black models, it is very noticable. If you can look past those two, minor details, then this is definitely a washer worthy of your consideration."
