Not bad!,
May 23, 2009
By Luv2Grill
"This is a great purchase for the Memorial Day weekend, especially considering it was on sale for $199! and the promotion for a free tank exchange! Gotta love the HD. Took it home and did the first time preheat and grilled the first night. Food tasted great! Cleaning was easy too. Coated the interior with a cooking spray/vegetable oil to prevent any rust that ALL grills acquire from use. Love it so far!"

CharmGlo 4 burner SS grill,
May 21, 2009
By rick216

"My wife and I bought this grill because it can be used with either propane or natural gas, (with a change of gas kit.) It is well constructed, easy to light, gets hot quick and cooks without burning or undercooking. I really like the grease drawer, easy to clean and practical. I keep my stainless steel grill covered and I store it in a gazebo, out of the direct weather. It is a very good replacement grill and the real test will be if it will outlast my last grill which lasted over ten seasons. This grill is impressive, and with the rotissorie, it does everything we need an outdoor grill to do. I would buy this unit again."

Charmglow Junk,
May 21, 2009
By CharmglowJunk
from Pinckney, MI
"This is to all you people who have written good reviews about charmglow grills. First of all anyone who has written a good review so far that I have read hasn't had their grill long enough to give a propper review. Listen to the people that have had their charmglow grills for a 2 year period. You notice no one has reviews past that because THEY WILL NOT LAST THAT LONG. I purchased a charmglow not quite 2 years ago & I am experiencing all and much more of the problems everyone else is having with them. I just wised up and purchased a weber last week to replace the charmglow junk that I now need to throw away. Read weber reviews and see how many bad ones you can find... it's VERY VERY RARE if you can even find a bad one at all."

Having to replace after only 2 years,
May 18, 2009
By mcc3911

"If I was writing this review the first year I would have said that the grill was great except for the fact it is sometimes hard to control the temp. I have had the grill for 2 years in March 2009. We keep it covered when not in use. The burners, all the supports and the drip shields have rusted through. We thought we could replace the burners but the support they fasten to fell apart when we tried to remove the burners. That part is not available in the stores and when we tried to order it online we were told that it is backordered and they could not give us a estimated ship date. We also noticed that the entire bottom is flaking and rusting through. We thought that this grill would last a little longer for us.The outside seems nice and heavy duty but the inside parts are cheap."

Very Nice Grill & Easy to Assemble!,
May 18, 2009
By Anonymous
from Pinckney, MI
"I highly recommend this grill.
I was able to assemble this grill in 80 minutes at a very comfortable pace. This grill is designed for ease of assembly - to get you on the right start to enjoy this terrific grill.
I shopped for a long time before purchasing a new grill. I was concerned about the negative reviews on this site, but read closely and examined the grill closely in the store, and decided to buy. I have had it 10 days now and am very pleased.
I purchased a cover and applied Rustlick to fasteners during assembly to minimize the rusting problem identified by other reviewers.
It has performed well and the grilling results exceed my expectations! I have not experienced the issues other reviewers have.
I think most people can easily assemble this grill and take steps to enjoy it for a long time.
Happy grilling - Jeff"

Large vent / Back burner doesn't work//issues,
May 13, 2009
By Rehan
from Connecticut
"Hi,
After my first use I realized it is not a right grill.
1st it came with faulty rotisserie burner. It will not lit up.
2nd there is a large vent that take out all the heat. Vent is huge and takes extra amount of time to cook
3rd all 4 burners has bigger holes for the back area and small holes for front cooking area. It is causing food on the back side to cook too fast and burn and food on the front side you guess (doesn't get cook)...
Machine is well built but not good for BBQ.
Another thing if you are assembling this yourself STOP.!!!
The entire BBQ top area sits on less then 1/2 inch bar...You MUST be very careful when tried to tight screws. Please be careful it was about to fall on me and my wife wasn't able to hold it because of extra heavy weight of the machine.

It's a decent Grill but lasted 2 years,
April 27, 2009

"This grill is a beautiful grill to look at. For the price my friends thought I paid a truckload of money, but I didn't. Problem with the grill was the rusting on the back of the grill and the grill plates. Then I tried replacting the grill plates and can't find them anywhere. They are not sold at the home depot. By the way, I do have a grill cover.
The other thing is that the grill has toppled over several times from winds on my back porch. I not sure if it's just top heavy or what, but it's toppled over at least 3 times. The door then feel off and it wasn't pretty.
It's a great grill if you just want the grill for a couple of years, knowing that you'll replace it in a couple of years."

"The fuel manifold did not work properly, causing the flame to stay on high all the time. The control knobs melted. The gratings and interior hardware was sub par. The unit rusted after a few days, with a cover on it and no rain! Maybe it was a bad unit or posessed!"

Love this Grill,

"This replaced a 11 year old Weber, that I am bringing to the cabin. Have used this about a month or so, and I have to say, I love it. Gets much hotter than the Weber. Also love the look.
I see here people complaining about the rust etc. Get a cover, clean it up when you are done. You will not have a problem.
The rotisserie is fantastic. My first one, but not last.

Good Grill,
April 17, 2009
By Gigs
from Staten Island NY
"I just bought this grill and found it was easy to assemble. The conversion kit for Natural Gas had poorly written instructions and the supplied tool kit was a joke. Other than that it appears to be well built. Fired right up and I cooked using all areas. Good heat distribution despite what other posters have written. Hopefully I do not experience the rusting issues that others have had. I hear that some people had rusting while keeping it covered. The burner tubes appear stainless and are easy to replace though. I do not think rusting will be an issue. Some of the poor reviews need to be taken with a grain of salt. This is not a very expensive grill. If you wanted a bulletproof grill than get an expensive weber. This is what it is and so far so good."

"Got my money's worth...........very pleased.
Instructions for setup were VERY poor. Screws and nuts were located in the hardest places to reach. After 3 hours of HUGGING it with screwdriver and wrench, it was completed. Do not wanna do this job again, anytime soon..........it better last!

"My wife purchased this grill for me in Feb. of 07 as a birthday gift.
At first I really liked it.
Then the grids started rusting and i figured no big deal, I'll just go down to Home Depot and get a new one.
Wrong!!
All parts for this grille are only available from an online retailer (yes, even warranty parts and most of the feedback from this online retailer are not very good).
After many trips to different retailers I found a grid that almost fit and purchased it, after a few rounds with the Sawzall, it fit, almost.
I was happy because I was back to grilling, did I mention that I Love to Grill.
Next to rust were the heat deflectors, same story, online only.
The straw that broke the camels back is when the burner tubes rusted, and I don't mean a little rust, we're talking desintegrated into nothing.
So today I'm in HD and see that they now sell generic parts for Charmglow so I purchased two burner tubes so I can grille some t-bones.(it has four, but two would let me grille some steaks)
I started taking the grille apart so I can replace the burner tubes, but to my dismay, not only are the burner tubes completely gone, the screws that connect them are rusted as is the crossbar that they connect to.
Needles to say, the grille is pretty much a patio decoration now.
The exterior of the grille still looks great, but the parts that matter are JUNK.
I would not recommend this grille at all, the only reason it got one star is it is a required field and there are no minus stars.
This grille is made by Brinkman.

Hate This Grill,
January 3, 2009
By doitallady
"THere is a large vent in the back of the grill and ll the hot air goes out the back. It takes a long time to grill and it is impossible to cook with indirect heat. Also - the ignitor stopped working after a short time and the rotisserie bar that was stored in the cabinet rusted - and I never used it. Also - the drip tray collects rain water and is always full. If you like grilling - this is not the grill to buy"

Better than expected!,
August 10, 2008

"okay heres the deal, I had an 7 year old BBQ grill that was my favorite. the burners were shot, starting to rust through but I kept using it till My wife told me it was time to let go, time to go shopping, she was going to buy me any BBQ I wanted as a fathers Day gift, but there was a catch. I couldnt spend over $600.00! That was a bummer! ohh well I would just keep old faithful till I found my new lsss than $600.00 Dream BBQ!
Well I searched for nearly 3 months and I thought I was never going to find the right one. it had to be just right, and I wanted a certian side cabinit also, since I planned to build it into a outdoor kitchen, but built ins are way more expensive.
So, I went to Home Depot many times and many times I passed this grill up, just didnt think it was good enough for less than $370.00 I mean I had 600.00 I could spend, why not try to get the best I could find. Well I was there again today at home depot, and this BBQ Grill caught my eye for some reason. I started looing and it really had all the features I was looking for. I second guessed my self a few times but was drawn back to see more of the details. the store had 2 left in stock, both were floor models already assembled. I was not sure if I wanted one that people have been playing in the store or not, but talked to the person in charge and said that he had the same Grill and Loved it! it was missing 2 knobs and was pretty dirty from being a floor display, they took 10% off and swapped some knobs from another floor model to make mine complete. I purchased the grill and took it home, it cleaned up very nice with little effort, the stainless exterior shines!! this is a very solid build unit, heavy duty. I fired it off, all burners lit first try, even the side and rotisserie all on the first try. I left all the burners on for 15 minuted to bake any remaining oils or chemicals off the unit. I came back to check it out and the tep gauge was at 675 degrees, WOW thats a hot grill!
I let it set for a while, then preheated it again, and we had a tri Tip ready to BBQ , we decided to use the rotisserie, it worked flawlessly, very quiet, smooth, and very well cooked meat. This was the best Tri Tip I have ever cooked, and I cook one every other week or so. I used a drip pan under the rotisserie and the grill never even got dirty. tri Tip was ready in about 40-45 minutes, and was very evenly cooked and still juicy.
I really enjoyed this grill, it was used within an hour of coming home from the store, and in my opinion worth every penny, and much less that I was wanting to spoend. I just couldnt find a grill I liked untill I really looked at this one.
strongly recommened many times over.
I am very happy with this grill!!

Purchase a grill cover ! ! !,

"Excellent product. Rotisserie is GREAT & operates quietly.
Good heat distribution. Only drawback I've experienced is that when it rains, the drip pan filled up with water due to open back design. Grill cover highly recommended ! ! Otherwise, am very happy with this unit. Been grilling for 40+ years and enjoy this one more than any I've ever owned.
