SoundBar DVD Home Theater for Ambisound and 1080p HDMI Up-Conversion

The Philips HTS8100 Ambisound Soundbar home theater speaker system with a 1080p-upscaling DVD/MP3 player is perfect for any room. This unit was designed to give you the 5.1 channel surround sound power you want but with the size you need. The soundbar was designed to fit in any room to be mounted on a wall underneath a flat-TV. The center console channel was designed to also be mounted on the wall or placed on a stand. If you're looking for the perfect surround sound to turn your room into a home theater without speakers taking up the entire room than look no further than the HTS8100.

We have a kitchen that opens to our family room. The sound system sits atop the mantle, below the TV in the family room. The sound carries clearly through the open space. We have a deck off the side of the family room, and we also use the iPod dock to listen to music while out on the deck.
We were looking for a unit that offered the quality of surround sound in a minimal system. This is a sleek system, that fits wonderfully on the mantle under our TV. There are minimal cords. The iPod dock connects on the side, so the full appearance is not symmetrical when it's connected, but overall, the system is very aesthetically pleasing.
The sound carries well without having to blast the volume. Overall, this we are very happy with the purchase so far. We have a TV by the same manufacturer, and the two units integrate well with the use of the sound system remote. We've had the system for about two weeks, and at this point, we would recommend it for use in a long or small room--not sure how it would work in a large, square room.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great buy for the money. Works and sounds like units costing ten times more. Easy to use and is compatible with a wide range of sound systems and is small enough to go any where. Best sound system I have ever purchased.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this as a gift for my fiance' & now I am waitin for my own surround sound system to break so I can buy the Phillips SoundBar for me!!! The sound is spectacular. the sound is crisp, you can here every single instument when playing music, the muilt-channel sound is dynamic. Every sound mode is dynamic, pop, rock, jazz, concert, etc. It plays CD, Music DVD's, FM Radio. I'm still angry this wasn't a product available when I bought my system.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I live in a apartment building with a average size bedroom. I have been looking for a one piece home theater system. By accident I came across the soundbar dvd by Philips. When I upload my regular dvd's, they look as good as HD quality. Nice and sharp. The sound is unbelievable. The sound level goes up to 30+. The most I use is around 10-13. You can hear everything. Choose from action, drama, sports, news, classical, and more. Plus am, fm radio, play your favorite cd's. Easy to setup. Very sexy style to look at. Looks great with my wide screen tv. And so does my subwoofer. This is more than I could ever imagine. I have never purchase anything from Philips before. I am a very pleased customer.
Yes, I recommend this product.
