This machine makes it so much easier for my kids to vacuum the stairs. It took them a little while to get use to it, but the easy of dumping the canister and its turning ability really stand out.

Bought a new DC25 at Home Depot. After unpacking found the power head was busted like it was ran over with a fork lift or something. Since it was the last one in the store I didn't bring it back but called Dyson instead. The person was very nice and promised a new power head would be shipped immediately and delivered within 3-7 days. I asked for tracking when it becomes available, the answer was to call every day until one was available. I called after a day or two and was told the part had shipped but no tracking was available yet in the system. Called back the next day and was given the same answer. This went on for 3-4 days until they said the part is now "out of stock" and will not be available for 2 weeks. I called back the next day and pretended I wanted to purchase a power head for my vacuum cleaner. Now the agent said it was available and ready to ship. I then explained one was supposed to ship to me as a replacement part and wondered why it had not shipped. She now got very rude and defensive all of a sudden and after double checking she now claimed the part was "out of stock". The more I talked to her the more agitated she became until all of a sudden she just hung up.
After looking the unit over I came to the conclusion the Dyson is nothing but an overpriced pile of plastic.
There are other machines out there that will perform as well or better but at half or a third the price. Customer service at Dyson has no or little supervision and are not reprimanded for callbacks explaining how badly they behaved.
Never more a Dyson for me or anybody I know.
After looking the unit over I came to the conclusion the Dyson is nothing but an overpriced pile of plastic.
There are other machines out there that will perform as well or better but at half or a third the price. Customer service at Dyson has no or little supervision and are not reprimanded for callbacks explaining how badly they behaved.

My first Dyson vacuum. From reviews, I felt like this was the best model to fit my needs. Easy to maneuver and the dust/grime/debris suction is fantastic! I've only used it maybe a handful of times and it was able to pick up a good amount of dust/grime/debris.
Some downfalls that I noticed about this product is that the vacuum hose is not long enough when trying to use it to get to corners and crevices. You have to carry the entire vacuum with you in order to get the tube to reach higher areas/ceilings.
Another thing is that there's no easy way to use it to vacuum stairways/stair steps! How is a person suppose do this? Is there really a method to use this on stairs? I couldn't figure it out. It would be really nice to know.

Love the vaccuum. Bought this model after wathcing some online video demos between this and the model down. Although I am apprehensive to say its worth the 500 bucks, if you get it on sale as I did, it actually wasnt a bad deal. Overall a great product.

Works fine so far - have only used it twice. Only issue I have is with ease of use of the attachments - coiled hose is pretty "tight" & long tube is cumbersome to me but I'm an old lady with bad shoulders. Maybe a study of available add-ons will solve these issues; otherwise, I love it.

I know Dyson is one of the top of the line if not the top of the line vacuums. Their comercials are always emphacizing their forethought and effort put into engineering. I would have thought that a vacuum of this caliber and this price would have included a retractable electric cord. It does everything else great...steers great, vacuums great, the attachments work great, but you have to wrap that long cord up every time. Maybe for young folks it is not an issue, but throw in a few decades and a pinch of arthritis and you will be cursing the cord after the fith wrap. Poorly thought out.

Simply incredible! I had looked for years at the Dyson vacuum cleaners but avoided taking the leap, opting instead for the less expensive machines (Hoover, Bissel, Eureka...etc). Huge mistake.
After having just vacuumed the floors with old vacuum, we used the new Dyson. Wow! It picked up so much dirt, dust, and animal hair that was "missed" by our old machine that we had to empty it 4 times... from what had appeared to be clean floors. Incredible! Great purchase.

I can't believe this machine. My carpet has never looked so good. I live in the country and its very sandy ground. You wouldn't believe what this machine has picked up. Its much lighter than I expected and turns on a dime.

I wait until the last minute to vacuum and can knock it out in record time! It picks up all dust and dirt.... the dust vibrates and then just gets sucked in. Yes, it's expensive, but so worth it.

When the unit first arrived it did not function correctly because a filter in the ball was not correctly installed when shipped. Because of the poor documentation shipped with the product I could not identify the source of the problem but fortunately my son had the time an patience to work it out and fix the problem. So it gets an F for out of the box quality. However it appears that the suction is superior to other vaccums that I have used and it has superior mobility and agility that should be important to older users. I find the wand extensions, or what ever you call them, to be difficult to work with, however it is easier to switch from user the floor cleaner to the wand cleaner than any other cleaner I have used. As the man around the house who has evolved into the cleaner guy I highly reconmmend this vacuum even though my wife said we could never buy one because she hates the guy in the TV commercial.
