1-Gallon Flat Latex Interior Paint

The Freshaire Choice 1-Gallon Flat Latex Interior Paint does not contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that contribute to poor air quality and cause chemical odor. It makes painting in areas with low ventilation more comfortable. The flat finish provides a non-reflective surface to help hide surface imperfections and make walls appear smoother. It can be applied with a roller, sprayer or brush. The washable finish resists stains.

Living healthy

I agree that the color choices are not that plenty but if I want to live healthier than I can live with that. We bought it for all the rooms in our house and it went on great. 2 coats and the colors came out great, we did not use primer because the walls in the house were allready painted white. Paint went on smoothly and was easy to wash out of the brush. I rather have a paint that might come off easier than all those added chemicals that make it stick. I did not like the fact that this paint was not very well advertised in the store itself. We had to ask for a less fumes paint and that is how we found this. I would recommend it to all my friends.

The worst paint ever

No, I do not recommend this product.
I purchased a gallon of this to try since I have asthma and most paint triggers it. Yes, this paint has less fumes, but I would not call it fume free. It did still trigger my asthma, just not as bad as other paint I have used. The first gallon I bought was filled with small lumps, and it was a HUGE pain to pick them out as I was painting. I did not have enough paint to finish the job, but only needed about a quart more. That's too bad, because this only comes in gallons, and it is expensive. It also cannot be color matched in another paint. So I had to buy a second gallon, which was again filled with lumps to finish the job. I would never use this paint again due to the lumpiness and cost.

Freshaire Paint

We were extremely surprised at how well tihs paint performed. We've used Benjamin Moore, Aura, Natura and Regal and found Freshaire to be more than comparable, if not better, in terms of application and price. Absolutely no odors and the final finsh of the Gold we selected is beautiful. Agreed that the color selection is limited, but we actually found that to a be a plus by narrowing down our choices after months of looking at 100s of colors in other lines. We did need to stir the paint more than most as it separated a bit, but was perfectly fine after a few stirs.
We plan to use this paint for the rest of our house except for the bathrooms since we aren't aware of any "bath/mildew resistant" version. Overall, we love the the final finish and color.

Great Product & Great value

About 4 months ago I used the Fresh Aire primer then Sacred Soil. One coat of each beautifully covered my living room. While the color choices are not extensive, the product is wonderful. Zero VOC's in both the base and color is amazing. I was able to repaint my living room with toddler there to help! The color was exactly what I expected and I plan to purchase again to redo our bedrooms this week! Plus, 1 gallon is $25 less expensive than comparable products.

Frustrating

No, I do not recommend this product.
I purchased this paint in Ray of Light, there are not many colors to choose from, but I wanted a creamy yellow and on-line this color matched. In the store the color card did not, I'm not sure what's wrong with the color cards but they all look like someone painted them with grey speckle paint and then the color. I ignored the color card and bought the paint anyway. As soon as the paint guy opened the can I saw that the color was almost exactly what was on-line. The smell is there not as strong as other paint but there. However, the major problem with the paint is that it's like painting with milk. I painted the color over a primered wall (Freshaire primer) but you could see the roller marks after a second coat and there was only enough to do 1.5 coats in a 350sqft room. I would not buy this paint again unless they make a major formulation change.
