I had looked over many reviews before purchasing this refrigerator. This product had the best reviews overall for this price range. It keeps my food cold and looks beautiful. Thanks to the other reviewer who mentioned that the refrigerator is black on the sides. It matches beautifully with my other black and stainless steel appliances. Overall, my kitchen looks more impressive. As for the door sticking, my freezer does stick a little. However, I am 90 pounds and have no problems opening the door. I do like the tight seal close as it does not allow cold air to escape. As for the ice maker, the smaller pieces of ice do fall out over the side sometimes but is a minor issue to me. Morever, many reviews that I had previous read on other refrigerators contained complaints about the ice maker constantly breaking which I consider a far worse issue. I've had this refrigerator for two months and I am so glad I bought it!!

First refrigerator leaked all over the floor and ruined my entire down stairs wood, had to file claim to have that replaced. Replacement frig is very loud when water runs threw water line and the freezer has frost every where even though I have it on the lowest setting.

It seems working well and keeps evething inside at good condition. I like the control penal on the front, and the steel cover looks nice. I got it in a good price so no complaint about the choes as below.
It makes a little noise constantly, but feel fine with it now. Because it's only in my kitchen for less a month, so I have no futher evaluation words about it. I hope to see it's condition in one or two years later.

we purchased this for our rental property, on sale, we are very pleased with it's aesthetics and amenities. Easy to set up and use, good amount of organized storage space and no finger prints on the outside!

Bought this fridge 1.5 years ago & the compressor failed. cost $900 to replace. We paided $1000 for it. This thing is junk! I have never heard of a fridge lasting less then 2 years. The last one I had lasted 30 years. Of course the warranty is only 1 year. Now I have to buy a new fridge to replace my new fridge! Thanks GE!

This is an excellent buy for a 25 cu ft refrigerator. It's classy, has energy star and ample storage for all your items! The delivery crew was fantastic and very professional! Way to go Home Depot, once again you've earned my repeat business!

I have had it for two days, so I don't know how it works. What I do know is that it looks cheap. I recommend you to see an actual model in a store and you will notice. You might be OK with that, but I wasn't.
But what really made me take time to sit and write a review to warn everybody is that the unit comes with only 4 "complimentary" shelves for the freezer, although it has the holes and everything for 5 shelves. And it DOES need 5 shelves, otherwise you will waste room in the freezer. They can kindly sell you the additional shelf for something like $60. It does not make sense to pay close to 10% of the total price for such a low engineering part that should anyway come with the new unit. Not a good way to get custom loyalty, removing a necessary part, and selling it at an outrageous price.

I purchased this Sweet refrigerator for my Mother a couple of weeks ago. Set-Up was a breeze, and hooking the "Smart" water-line up was just a breeze also. It is a super deal, and just great. Goodbye Ice Trays and Water Jugs/Bottles lol.

My wife and I shopped 2 weeks for a fridge to replace our exisitnng one after buying a new home. We came across this model and decided on purchasing it. WE DID read the reviews and found some to be cautious about. When delivered (which was conducted in a very professional manner, hat's off, we have moved 4 times in 5 years and have had many experiences with movers, installer,etc). As soon as the frige was plugged in, our worse nightmare happened, the freezer motor roared like no tomorrow througout the entire house. We were so disappointed. I called Home Depot and they connected me with the the aplliance center. Within ten minutes I was assured a GE serviceman would be at our home first thing Monday morning. He showed up, replaced the motor, and the fridge is the quietest we have ever heard one. Yes, we have not had it long, but everything we have tested has been to our expectations. Our hats off to the support lended by the Home Depot staff, and knowing that we will have the support IF something like this should ever happen again. In fact, the GE rep asured us should it happen again, we will receive a new one, no questions asked. SO, to the person who whined about the noise in their review, trying picking up the phone and giving it a chance!!! We are very satisfied!! Job well done. In closing, knowing we took the 4 year warranty with the Depot, makes us feel even more secure that we made the right decision!!

Love this refrigerator, especially the Cool Steel doors. No marks and the items inside are very cold and also the sliding shelves to reach items in back. Looks good in my kitchen. I am very happy with this product and would definitely recommend it. Delivery and set up was great and the men were very careful not to hit walls, doors, etc and polite. Great deal!!

I was happy to buy this GE refrigerator because of the price and the free delivery and haul away plus 50.00 rebate being offered by Home Depot for buying 2 appliances. I could not find a better price anywhere and i looked every where. I compared this refrigerator to all i could find in a price range i could afford. It offers about everything anyone could want. I am looking forward to recieving the refrigerator. I shall be writing back when i start using it as to whether i like it as much as i do now.

I originally went in to by a different refrigerator. I walked out with this. It is very quiet and easily installed. I especially love the cleansteel of the appliance. Take a 5 year old shopping and tell him to touch any appliance. It is worth its weight in gold

This is a fantastic refrigerator! I love the fact that it's the Cleansteel and fingerprints disappear like magic. And, the black casing and Cleansteel front are all magnetic - a feature missed by most with regular stainless.
Most of the shelves are adjustable which is nice and 2 liter bottles fit perfectly in the side bins.
I would have easily given it 4.5 stars, but can't figure out how. The only drawback is that the water isn't ice cold coming out of the dispenser, but it's plenty cool for us.
So glad we got it! GE Cleansteel Microwave, Oven, Refrigerator down. Dishwasher to go!!!

Things Don't Last Like They Used To

In March 2003 we bought the GE Profile Arctica side by side refrigerator. For 7 years we loved it and the way it fit where our kitchen island is located. This July 2010 the mother board on the refrigerator went out. We had this fixed and now this Sept. the coils are freezing up and stay covered in ice so that the unit runs continuously (big power bill coming). Also in 2003 we bought the GE microwave, pop-up vent, and dishwasher. The microwave broke during the first year and then 3 additional times (the last time smoked and we put it on the curb). The pop-up vent would not stay up but GE did repair it several times. When it again fell down I realized it had a design flaw and I fixed it myself. It works fine now and we have had no more problems. The dishwasher is still going though the dispenser clamp that holds the detergent door closed broke off and the machine makes a loud grrrr sound when it runs (I guess its next). Therefore, all this to say, that this refrigerator may not last more than 7 or 8 years. Maybe no other brand will last any longer either. From what I hear, any made after 2002 (when the new gas and energy star rating came into being) will not last long.

There are design deficiencies with the computer control unit and freezer fan motor. The motor howls horribly as the DC control voltage fluctuates maddeningly. I have found the same problem on several appliance blogs. Love everything else about this fridge, but only buy it if you are hard of hearing. I would sell you mine at half price.

We absolutely love it! The clean steel is great, not hard to keep clean at all. The black sides don't bother me. The water doesn't freeze like was in one of the other reviews. The water isn't super cold but that's okay. It is super spacious inside and it keeps everything just the right temperature. Oh and we love the crushed ice in the door! The free delivery was wonderful and the free haul away of our old dead fridge was an added plus. I say, "Buy this fridge! You won't regret it!"

The pictures don't show you that both sides are actually black and not stainless in color. If you look carefully at specs it says stainless with parenthesis next to it saying "black case". I didn't know refrigerators had "cases" or even what a a refrigerator case was but botton line, the only thing stainless on this refrigerator is the doors.
