Bought in 03/2008. But wouldn't work to cool down. Temp stays about 40 always. Have to dump it. Never by GE product again!!!

I purchased this refrigerator because my old one was having problems and needed a new one. After some research I found this refrigerator had the features I wanted at a good price. I especially liked the filter being inside which makes it much easier to replace. The flexibility of glass shelf placement and the space available in the door is awesome. I can fit everything easily. I also like the lock feature on the controls. It makes it child-proof for those who have little ones. I would recommend this appliance to anyone looking for quality and value. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Horrible product!

We purchased this fridge 6 years ago and have had nothing but problems with it since day one. We've had the doors and ice machine replaced. The freezer breaks at least twice per year. In order to get it working again, we have to take the entire back panel of the fridge apart and defrost it. The ice machine has NEVER worked properly. We have wasted time, $$ and countless hours of frustration trying to get this refridgerator to work properly. Finally, after 6 years the fridge just flat out stopped working and we were forced to purchase an entire new fridge. According to consumer reports, refridgerators are supposed to last 10+ years. We were and are disappointed with our experience and will stay away from GE products from here on out.

My frig unexpectedly died and I needed one quickly so bought this model (which was also least expensive at the store). Size inside is average for side-by-side. Drawers stick a bit when opening them and my five year old has not mastered them yet. Ice maker is loud.

drawers are kind of cheap and don't open / close real well. water dispenser is very slow.

I am sooo disappointed with this product. We bought our refrigerator and not even a week later had to call in a service order, because there was water leaking all over the floor and into the freezer. Our food had already been defrosted. The guy from GE came out and said he changed some setting and that he would not be able to come out for another 7 days. WHAT!! We cannot go without a refrigerator for 7 days. So, after my fiancee spoke his mind, the guy agreed to come back the next day. He came back, and informed us that the compressor had already gone out. It didn't even last a week!!! Great, now we have to deal with Home Depot to come pick this refrigerator up and give us a new one. There is no telling when we will have a refrigerator. DO NOT BUY!!
