My BF installed this fan in my bedroom on a Sunday. It looks great and it didn't take too long for him to install it. Unfortunately, on the very next Tuesday (as in 2 days later) one of the 4 lights quit working. Trust me, it wasn't just a bad light bulb. Now that I have read reviews, I see that is a common problem. I'm very disappointed, to say the least. Now I have to deal with finding replacement parts, or making a warranty claim. Lesson learned - go with a national brand instead.

I purchased 2 Carriage House fans, 1 in Oct 2011 and the other in Dec 2011. When I noticed that light bulbs on both fans were out I figured the original light bulbs were junk. I purchased new bulbs and the lights still do not work. I am so sorry I purchased 2 of these fans because they are both defective.

What I love about this fan - It quite, green, let you have the options of useing it 2 or all 4 lights, Stable - won't rock
back and forth. Move air well both clock and counterclock wise. one small problem - on reverse ( or counterclock wise mode which I don't use too often) you may hear a very small sweeping sound. I'm impress. I plan on buying 1 per month till I have one in each rooms.

This fan is awesome. Moves air quite well in a 13x15ft room. The best feature is the 4 lights, you can have all 4 on or choose 2 at a time. This way you can put a couple of low votage LED bulbs and turn it low, only using 6 watts at this point! The wattage of the fan is 16,32,64 watts, low, med, high. The fan is also very quite on any setting even high. The central drive appears to be well engineered unlike other designs I have seen.

We installed 75 of the Hampton Bay Carriage House II Fans in an apartment complex 5 years ago.. The fans have been very unreliable. Several of the fan motors began making noise after about 3 years. The noise was so irriating residents complained. We then tried to make a claim under the (SO CALLED LIFETIME MOTOR WARRANTY) What a joke!! When we contacted the manfacturer about the problem. They STATED MOTOR NOISE ISN'T COVERED. The only motor warranty is if one of the 3 speeds doesnt work. Try being in the same room and watch TV with one of these defective fan motors. You just end up turning off the fan. We bought new Carriage House II fans. Then removed the motor and used them as replacement motors. We wanted everything to be uniform for maintenance purposes. The only thing it was an expensive solution. We are now throwing out the entire fans and replacing them with Competitors as they fail. I wouldn't buy another HAMPTON BAY PRODUCT FOR ANYTHING. THEY DON'T STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT. THANK YOU ROYALTY ARMS APARTMENTS.

Just had this installed in my kitchen. Love it!!!! We had an old and ugly fluorescent fixture that was so outdated. My kitchen looks so elegant! So glad I purchased this and you can't beat the low price!

I was happy with the product, but I don't think I got my moneys worth. The light fixture stopped working after 2 years. I know it lasted 2 years, but a light fixture should last a lot longer.

We are so happy with our ceiling fan. It was easy to install. It has the option of using either 2 lights at a time or all four can be used. The ceiling fan is in our dining room and given a soothing breeze.

Some other reviews stated that this fan was difficult to install. I couldn't agree less. It was no more difficult that any other fan I have installed before. Wiring and directions were pretty straight forward. I suppose prior experience is always a plus. I even installed a third party remote control in mine which works fine as well.
I am amazed at how QUIET the operation is. This fan moves more air than the one it replaced but is much more quiet and without any shaking or rattle. This fan actually had a higher air movement rating that most of the other fans we looked at, many of which were quite a bit more expensive.
It has a nice finish that goes well with our bedroom decor. I like the flush mount design as our ceilings are only like 8 foot or so. I also prefer the 4 light design to a 2 bulb globe as it affords more light.
I actually purchased this exact fan about 6 years ago to put in a different bedroom. I did notice some subtle changes on this later production run which seem to be for the better. On the first fan the inside coating of the light globes started to peel from the heat of the bulbs as others have stated. No signs of that on the newer one. Looks like they fixed that.
Would highly recommend.

I got this fan to go along with the dark wood furniture that I had purchased. It compliments the furniture well and is a great addition to the room. The light shades are beautiful and allow for plenty of light to shine through. Great purchase!

I bought this fan, Installed it, and it lasted 6 months. No lights, no fan. Called customer service and the said it needed a new capacitor, but they were out of stock (too many had blown out?) It would be 1 month. 3 months later I bought a new capacitor and installed in myself. Fan still doesn't work. It's bascially junk. Don't buy Hampton Bay fans.
