Unit worked well for 25 months, then came the LE code. Contacted LG customer service, submitted claim to cover parts and labor. Took 1 week for approval, another week to located a local LG authorized service provider (I ended up finding a service provider for them after waiting 5 days, provider is 50 miles away). Currently waiting on LG to send the work release authorization letter to the service provider. I decided to check in again after 4 days had past. LG stated the proper paper work was not sumitted to the correct department till yesterday, it will now be another 3-5 business days. Over all the dishwasher looks great, cleans well when working and is very quite. But if you ever have to call LG customer service - I wish you the best of Luck!!!

We have had this model for 25 months. At 12 months and 21 days, the main pump went out, which is a $300 repair--LG was kind enough to honor the 12 month parts & service warranty and replace it. At 24 months and 24 days, the drain pump started squealing--LG did NOT honor the 24 month parts warranty and the estimate to repair is $175. There was 1 other service call necessary where a retaining screw came out of the washer and got caught in the disposer. 3 service calls in 2 years. We clean all of our dishes before running the dishwasher and we run it about 5 days a week for a family of 4. It worked fine and it was quiet. But a major appliance that needs repair (2 of them major) in 2 years is completely unacceptable. It's a cheap piece of junk. Don't buy it! Rather than throwing more money at a terrible dishwasher, I will be buying a new one. You can bet it won't be an LG.

Unit failed after 25 months
Warranty is pending. Family always washes rinses dishes off prior to putting in dishwasher.
Service man fixed unit after LE code came up. The unit worked for 3 cycles and went into the same failure code.,
Sericeman said that the unit is not as durable as others and cheap metal is used.
This comes from LG's factory authoirzed service agent.
I asked LG to review the warranty.
Waiting for response.
Part and Labor to fix and install the new part is 60% of a new unit installed.
What is the point to fix vs put in a new unit.
It almost seems as LG views this as a disposable appliance and not a long term appliance.
No, I do not recommend this product.

The reviews were all over the map for this thing but having a kitchen and laundry room full of LG appliances already we took a chance and purchased it anyway.
Let me start off by saying that not only is this a fantastic dishwasher but we have never had the problems I've read in previous reviews.
My dishes, pots and pans, baby items... etc come out clean every single time. All of my glassware, stonewear and silverware are bone dry at the end of the cycle. My plastic items are still a little wet but that is true with every dishwasher.
I load this thing to the limit and run it once a day (at least). It is quiet and very energy efficient. The cycles take a long time. This bothered me at first but now I run it at bedtime so it doesn't matter.
I love that it has a sanitary rinse- I use it almost every time. I've never had to use the pot scrub option because the regular cycle works so well.
This was a great purchase- I'm so glad we took a chance on it. We will continue to purchase LG appliances.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this LG dishwasher from Home Depot to replace my 10-year-old cheap GE dishwasher. And I have it for two months now. It's quite, looks good but just not doing what it supposes to do: clean the dishes. Even the detergent can still be found inside the dishwasher. I tried many ways: quick wash, normal wash with extra rinse, using liquid and solid detergents. All I got is dirty dishes.
Called LG customer service couple times, and got a service man trying to fix the problem but no success.
I wish I can replace this LG junk with cheap GE dishwasher, at least it works.
To me, life is good without LG dishwasher.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I have had this model for 2 1/2 years and have had nothing but problems with the seals leaking and the compressor broke right before my warranty expired. Lg did come and fix but it broke again 4mos later when my warranty was expired and now looking for a new dishwasher, anything other than LG. very dissapointed with customer service, cant even understand the agent when calling and was told it was essentually my problem to fix. The repair shop who fixed first time basically told me i'd be better purchasing a maytag!! Thats what i'm doing.

We have to wash our loads more than once to get all of the dishes clean! This washer takes for ever to finish a simple cycle and then does not get everything clean. I would not reccomend this product to my worst enemy.

This was my first LG product, and now will be my last. The dishwasher is quiet, but actual cleaning power is minimal. After 13 months (out of warranty), the heating element failed. After 22 months, the door spring failed. After 30 months the motor failed. This unit has also dumped water on the floor several times, and for the money, it was a complete waste of time. I do not recommend this product at all.

Poorly Performing Product - Do Not Purchase

DW has nice rack spacing and options (ie, wine glass holder). Nice exterior appearance. Runs quietly.
DW nevers cleans dirty dishes. Be prepared to pre-wash your dishes before you load the DW if you want them really clean. Bottom rack easily comes off track. Utensil holders come apart easily which is frustrating. Get extended warranty because unit breaks often. Unit recently stopped working and dumped a large amount of water onto the floor damaging the hardwood floor. Incredible that the seals didn't prevent this damage.
It is my strongest recommendation that you do not purchase this unit. As you can see from the numerous negative ratings by others, it is a very poor product that HD should pull from it's appliance offerings.
No, I do not recommend this product.

It's such a shame that we wasted our money on this appliance. We had a Kenmore that would smoke if you didn't get the dial in just the right spot that worked better than this dishwasher. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!
I was so excited to get a new dishwasher due to safety reasons. I wish I had seen the other reviews first.
I pretty much handwash everything before I put it in. I don't know why dishes still come out with crud on them. I dont know why i bother wasting the water on a cycle ?we are on a public water system) We have tried numerous brands of dishwahing tabs, gels, powders and rinse aids, different wash/dry combs, doesn't help.
We have spent thousands of dollars at home depot over the past few years and have had confidence in their products and customer service. This is one product they should pull from their inventory/shelves.
Oh and the one review that mentioned a leak. Yes ours has leaked also. We only found it when we pulled it out for tile work. It had not even been installed for 6 months.
I am a new parent, work full time (my husband does also) and don't have time for poor quality.
I intend to tell everyone about this dishwasher and NOT to buy it. I am even considering posting it on parenting website review boards. That's how disappointing this product is.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I am very disappointed with this dishwasher. Use all the recommended soaps, rince aids and once a month sanitizing with vinegar. I pre-rince and get hot water in the lines before starting appliance. Does NOT get my dishes clean! Using this $625.00 dishwasher as an expensive drying rack, rather wash them by hand with my Dawn dish soap!

I HATE this dishwasher. We received a $500 Home Depot Gift Certificate so we bought this LG dishwasher to replace a still in good working condition 20 year oldl Whirlpool dishwasher for something in stainless steel.. The dishes NEVER dry no matter how long they are left in the dfishwasher. In addition, it STINKS inside. We have put one well cleaned off plate and glass in for one day and opened it up to a sour milk (don't drink milk) and it is very nauseating. The whole kitchen stinks when the door is opened. I will never buy another LG product due to this very, very poor performance. Dishes don't get clean despite practically hand washing them before stacking them inside.I now hand wash my dishes for the most part as I refuse to use it. We have run the garbage disposal numerous times to ensure nothing is emptying into it and just sitting there. I see there was another LG dishwasher that got the same type of review as this and Home Depot no longer carries it. Buyers Beware! Stay clear of this. My next purchase will be another dishwasher and NOT an LG or from Home Depot. They carry low end brands anyway.
No, I do not recommend this product.

WORST PRODUCT EVER HAS DAMAGED MY HOME

If i could give no stars i would have. This is the worst product ever. Paid over $750 when my husband and i bought this about 3 1/2 years ago. Motor went in about a year this was under warrenty. A year later we found mold under our kitchen floor and water damage on our wall in our newly finished basement. Realized it was water coming from the dishwasher. Had repair person come out and hose and seal underneath the dishwasher were leaking. Paid out of pocket to have it fixed and now yet again motor has gone and guess what my basement wall yet again soaked. Unless you want home repairs and high maintenance cost on an appliance do not buy this dishwasher

Looks nice but it doesn't clean. After the cycle the soap still in the detergent disposal. The technician told me to use liquid cascade solution instead of the powder cascade but still the same. If you don't want to have a headache "DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM." I was very lucky to buy this junk in Home Depot because they took it back and allow me to exchange with another brand, that was inspired from the previous review.

We bought the LG dishwasher with model number LDS4821ST. It looks great, is well made with quality parts, but does not clean. Home Depot was great and took it back and we bought the Maytag model number MD67759AWS dishwasher to replace it. It is not built as well, is lightweight with cheaper parts, but cleans great. We are very happy with it.

Purchased LG dishwasher LDS4821ST and it has been our worst nightmare ever. Within first 2 months DW started making very loud piercing high pitched whistle so bad that we had to wait until we went to bed to run DW. Service center replaced a pump and it seemed to work o.k. although DW was still loud. About 1 1/2 yrs. after install, DW began leaking around bottom of door. We had no extended warranty so we paid approx. $250 for repairs. Then DW began high pitched whistle again. LG agreed to extend warranty to cover parts and labor for repair. Another pump was installed and within 2 weeks, it was making same annoying sound. I went to Home Depot with DW history and they tried to get LG to give me new DW. LG wouldn't do anything. Home Depot is the BEST -- they have agreed to replace the DW at their expense. All I have to do is pick out a new DW and pay difference between the LG and the new one. Needless to say, I will not get another LG!! We have suffered for more than 2 yrs. with constant LG problems and will never buy LG again.

We washed four loads of dishes since installing this machine and every load came out with dirty dishes. We pre-rinse all of our dishes. Flatware is also still dirty. From all the reviews we've read, seems it is hit and miss with this one. Perhaps LG needs better control in their manufacturing process. We're returning it and will buy a Maytag.

I'm sorry to say that I am very disappointed in the dishwasher. We purchased an LG thinking we were getting a top of the line dishwasher.
I do like there is plently of room on each shelf however, the top shelf is built at an angle that tall glasses fall forward when put on the sides. I don't know why there is an arch right in the middle of the row.
Secondly, the dishwasher always shows streaks where the detergent slides down the door. Another biggie is the clean sign turns off automatically after 30 min to 1 hr so you can never tell if your dishes are clean or dirty.
No, I do not recommend this product.
