After reading so many mixed reviews, I realized that we will either love it or hate it. Having bought this dishwasher and used it for a couple of weeks, I have mixed emotions about this dishwasher.
First, this is a nice looking dishwasher. The tall tub and the lack of the spray arm rising in the middle of the rack leaves lots of room to load dishes in both the racks. The upper wash only feature is great, but with a family of 4, we use both racks and run the dishwasher every day. When my wife and kids went to visit grandparents, I used the rinse only feature since I had a full-ish load only every 2-3 days, and it worked great. The sanitize option is also great.
However, I cannot say so much for the drying. We use rinse-aid and played with the settings but the dishes always come out a little "moist" to the touch. The sanitize option seems to get the dishes a little more dryer.
The noise level is also okay, but it is not whisper quiet. You can hear the water filling up, the motor swishing and the drain pump working. I can watch TV, talk on the phone etc while the dishwasher is running, but it is not whisper quiet.
Overall, only time will tell if my opinions change about this dishwasher, hopefully for the better.

Doesn't clean dishes - even when rinsed well beforehand. Plates ALWAYS have residue, and bowls must be placed downward, taking up most of the space. My 17 year old Kenmore was much better than my brand new LG. Waste of money! (way too much money at that!) Also, food smells are horrible, so you have to hand scrub the dishwasher once a week. I could go on and on and on with negatives.

The hidden controls leave the front panel clear and smudge free. Extremely quiet cycle. Normal wash setting provides a thorough wash, but leaves glassware and flatware wet. Does a great job of eliminating food waste as I never have dishwasher rinse water backing up into my sink anymore, which is a wonderful improvement!

We purchased this dishwasher and have been pleased with it overall. We have noticed the inside is a little awkward when placing dishes; however, I place a few large square plates on the top rack when I need to along with saucers, bowls, glasses, untensils and silverware. The top rack is adjustable and I love it that we can clean the upper rack only. For the two of us, it works. We have been able to get everything we need in there. I love that the bottom holds many pots, lids, and plates. The dishwasher has been working great so far and is very quiet. The only thing noticed is a few mild sounds which we believe to be related to the rinse cycle. It sounds like a slight popping noise of the metal, maybe the hose is hitting metal on the inside somehow. We haven't quite figured that one out yet. It is not a big concern! Cosmetically, it looks great but could have looked better without exposed hardware on the lower front.

At 3 months old, had to replace the pump.
8 months old, the second pump.
371 days old, now the third pump, 6 days out of warranty. Fought with customer service and they agreed to repair it under warranty. Next one will be on me.

Doesn't clean without hand washing everything first, doesn't dry, even with the recommended Jet Dry.
Don't waste your money.

I've never been impressed with the way dishwasers clean. This is average at best. It looks nice, but, you certainly cannot stack plates back-to-back in the slots and expect them to be spotless.

THIS IS THE WORST DISH WASHER IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. I BOUGHT IT TO MATCH OUR LG FRIDGE AND I REGRET IT EVERYDAY. 9 OUT OF 10 TIMES, THE DISHES COME OUT DIRTY , NO MATTER HOW WELL YOU RINSE THEM, THERE IS ALWAYS FOOD RESIDUES AND GREASE. THE SHORTES CYCLE IS 2 HOURS LONG AND IT WON'T DRY YOUR DISHES IF YOU RUN OUT OF RINSING AGENT. THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE THINK IS THAT MOST OF THE TIME I HAVE TO WASH ALL MY DISHES BY HAND AFTER THE CYCLE ENDS. DO NOT BUY THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm COMPELLED to for this fabulous dishwasher. How can anyone get excited about a dishwasher?!?!
- It's GORGEOUS. We have an exterior black and interior stainless; all buttons are hidden.
- it's nearly SILENT! We frequently open it by mistake, not aware that it's running!
- the organization of the racks allows for much more capacity (# of items) than any I've owned
- it does a TERRIFIC job cleaning. (most cycles take 2 hours)
- I'm SO impressed! How can a dishwasher be so exciting?!?!

Dish washer was looking great, until I tried to open the draw in the corner next to it. The Handle is at the perfect height for a draw to hit. Since mine was in the corner due to how my setup is a smaller kitchen.
THe draw was located only 1.5 inches from corner, so if your draw is in corner make sure it's at least 3inches away.
So I returned it and got a different model LG that works great to, just no delay start , and controls are on face.

As a design engineer with a Sweden appliance company, I chose to purchase this product over my own design. Quality part components and washing performance is much better than what is produced in Kinston, NC, the location of Frigidaire and Electrolux dishwashers are produced.

I bought this at HD for about $800 installed. The direct drive failed at 10 months and was replaced under warranty. I'm sitting in the kitchen fumming that it's about 10 months later and I can hear the drive failing again. How do you build an $800 dishwasher that fails 2 times in 20 months.
As other's have said this dishwasher stinks. In 20 years of using a dishwasher I have never had one stink that bad with minimal food.
LG dishwashers are horrible, pathetic, expensive, and poor quality. I would NOT recommend this LG dishwasher.

This machine operates very quietly and is very roomy. Only thing interesting is that it is stainless, yet refrigerator magnets stick to it...that don't stick to my GE Refrigerator. Was told that means the stainless is of lesser quality. No complaints so far (1 month).

Since installation we noticed the dishes weren't very clean. Not sure what the Power Scrub option does really. We have to prewash or run the chance to handwashing the whole load. Just before the one year waranty was about to expire, the water pump went out. Maybe we were the unlucky ones who got the lemon.

I felt compelled to write a review as I am on line and wishing I could buy this dishwasher again. I remodeled a house we just moved away from in summer 2007 and put all LG appliances in, including this dishwasher. It is gorgeous and super, super quiet, and cleans dishes and glasses spotlessly (Is that a word?) You really have to stop, turn off radios, TV's, etc. to hear this thing running. We have had absolutely no trouble with this machine mechanically. The house I am in now has a terrible machine that is loud and leaves all kinds of white splotches on everything. I am longing for my trusted LG. (FYI - we do not have a water softener in either home)

I've had it serviced 3 times and the 3rd repairman is on his way back in the same day because it's STILL stopping mid-cycle. If you buy this dishwasher, buy the extended service plan.

Have this diishwasher for two weeks and so far everything is working okay. We will give it a full test on Christmas Eve when there wil be many dirty dishes and many loads.

Am enjoying the use of this new dishwasher because I can do small loads on top rack only setting, and I can put my plastics on the bottom rack because there is no hot coil unit for drying; uses hot air instead. Your plastics do come come out warped! I am very pleased this dishwasher!

Been waiting for months to replace my dead dIshwasher and the HD Black Friday sale saved me a bundle! The tall tub SS DW is great, love all the basic features and man is it quiet - old DW sounded like a jet landing in the kitchen - made it hard to watch TV in the next room. Anyway, I am now a huge LG believer - own 4 LG appliances - they are not the cheapest, but they are very functional and reliable. Thanks HD!
