Never been so happy in the long run that another home improvement store couldn't fulfill its delivery promise! Went immediately to Home Depot and focused on this model recommended by a friend. The flat instrumentation makes this unit look truly 21st Century, and the stainless steel interior is stunning. Love the big cutlery basket that can be pulled into three and moved around. Very spacious tub, easy to move racks. Extremely quiet operation.

We already have an LG Refrigerator that I'm happy with, so, we decided to look at their Dishwashers when we were ready to replace the one that came with our house.
Although the information about the washer said that it was pretty quiet, I must say I was surprised at HOW quiet it was! I'm very happy with it. I guess I'm becoming a true LG Fan. ;-)

This DW was terrible when first installed, I increased my water temp, changed detergents several times and even had 2 service calls. They stated there was nothing wrong with it, it was working as good as LG dishwashers work (not very well). Over 15 calls to LG and they would not deal with it. 2 calls to my local HomeDepot and I got it replaced! Thanks HD. would not recommend LG!

The hose pipe and the water disposal system died in the first month. LG support sent in a person to replace and clean the system. Since then it has been working fine again.

Excellent purchase. Love the quiet operation, sometimes open it to place things inside not realizing it is running. We expect it to save money on electricity, and also are very happy with the average water usage of 2.9 gallons a load. ( we are on septic system).
We had read reviews of the dishes not completely drying, but have not experienced this. We use Finish dishwashing agent with jet dry icluded and have great success. Biggest draw back is we have a 12 place setting for daily use and run out of dishes before we need to run a cycle. Immense size is great, and we now run dish cycle every 2-3 days instead of daily with our old machine.

This is a ok dishwasher. I purchased it so I would have quiet and now all I have is a whistle and some water noise after having the repair guy out four times now. I paid over $ 700.00 for this unit and it is now priced at a little more than $ 400.00. This was a bad investment for us. LG so far for me is not a good product. Never again will I buy a LG anything.

install of this unit was easy... yet, "after" purchasing, the
instructions tell you where to lay out mechanicals.... a little after the fact.. but with longer hoses and power cord... an easy fix...
The unit cleans great and the rinse cycle truly makes it a breeze to do the final clean cycle... I am use to cleaning off dishes, so, my habits probably aid in the whole process. I was concerned about my having well water but at this point in time it has no effect on the cleaning power of the unit.

The only negative is the lower pull out rack occasionally misses it's mark and has to be manually adjusted... other than that it was been flawless in its duties.

I owned this nice looking machine since 2/2006, in 9/2006 the motor died. Now in 11/2009 the motor died again, the cost to fix this product off warranty by 1 yr is almost half of the cost to buy it. Cleaning is inconsistent, used infrequently thie motor should have lasted longer than 2 yrs . This product is not worth the headache.

We owned a Bosch for many years, after kupt, the prices were high, this looked decent, so we went for it. AHHH!
May 2009, inconsistent cleaning, doesn't hold up the dishes or glasses, everything flops about. I've tried to maek friends with this machine, but I can't stand the thought of living with it for 10 plus years. It's the worst I've ever owned. We are washing by hand at this point and have orderd a new Bosch today. This is a real complaint and I'm relieved to be rid of it. We've never posted before, and hopefullly never again.

I the kind of person that usually doesn't write reviews, but I felt like I needed to on this one. After 5 years of putting up with the dishwasher that was in the house when I bought it , I decided to get a new dishwasher. My old one would never get the dishes or glasses clean unless prewashed, and even then I'd still find crud in the cups sometimes.
After talking with the guy at Home Depot, I decided on this LG dishwasher. I had never owned an LG appliance before so I was a bit nervous, but boy am I glad I picked this one. It runs quiet, and gets the job done great. No more dirty dishes and no more finding crud at the bottom of my cups. Best part is that I had glasses I never used anymore because they had dried crud on it that my old dishwasher wouldnt clean and I couldnt get my hand inside the glass far enough to hand clean it. I put them all inside my new LG dishwasher to see what would happen, and they all came out spotless! Keep in mind that this stuff had been on there for over a year! For the price and performance, you can't beat this dishwasher.

We bought this less than a year ago and from day one, it never cleaned and dried the dishes adequately. Adding different rinse aids helped with the drying at first, but after a few months, the drying function stopped working altogether.
We just purchased a similar priced Kitchen Aid that was as highly rated by owners as by Consumer Reports. Hoping for better performance. We have no idea why Consumer Reports rates the LG as highly as it does, but we were so disappointed in its performance that we felt it wasn't worth salvaging our initial investment through repairs.

This is a very nice washer...beautiful exterior and interior. Dishes come out clean every time. You can set the washer for 1 hour or 2 hours (not sure what the difference is). The unit runs pretty quiet, with a nice/unusual chime when the dishes are done. The only reason I don't give this 5 stars is because the utensils slip through the utensil holder. Other than that, it's a great unit!

I've had this dishwasher less than a month and it has never cleaned a load of dishes. I think the problem is with the soap dispenser. It's located so that the dispenser door hangs up on the lower rack and will not open completely when the dishwasher door is closed. Using powder soap, as suggested by the repair technician doesn't work either. The powder cakes up and won't completely dispense so you end up with even more spots on the dishes. You can't leave any food on the dishes when you load the washer. The food particles will be stuck to something when you unload. I'm still waiting to see what Home Depot will do to replace this unit. I didn't buy a dishwasher to wash dishes by hand after every load.

We didn't read the reviews until after we bought the machine, and quite frankly we were very nervous. However we have been very pleased with the results we have experienced. In talking with technical people they all seem to agree that it is important to read all of the accompanying instructions and to use a rinse at all times.
We have experienced no spotting or food residue, even with moderately dirty dishes. The machine is so quiet that it is possible that some might think it is finished when it isn't. We use the rinse, the recommended amount of detergent and start the machine before we go to bed. In the morning the dishes and glassware have been clean and dry. It performs better than our old machine did. We are very satisfied with our machine.

This dishwasher is so quiet. when it runs, all you hear is the water running. Quick cycle is perfect for everyday cups, plates and silverware that pile up through the day. The display shows a count down of how much time is left in the cycle. The top rack is so tall that I can put all of my large tupperware bowls and juice pitcher in it. I was amazed at the size and the quality of cleaning. The only thing that has taken getting use to is the silverware basket. My previous dishwasher had it on the door and this one is 3 detachable baskets on the RH side of the llower rack. Not bad, just different. I went with this higher quality unit and opted to save money by buying black and it matches the rest of my stailness appliances great.

Quietly fails to clean

I got the LG dishwasher about a year and a half ago. It's the quietest dishwasher I've ever heard--you can hold a conversation right next to it while it's running without raising your voice. It gets full marks on that point.
Unfortunately, a dishwasher's primary function is not to stay quiet, but to get the dishes clean. In this regard, the LG is sadly lacking.
Frequently, the items in the top rack (especially glasses) do not come clean. This happens once or twice every month. Once the dishes have dried, there is nothing the dishwasher can do to clean them--they have to be scrubbed by hand.
I've been able to reduce the frequency of the problem by leaving extra space between the dishes in the top, and not putting anything in the top center. But this reduces the effective capacity of the machine significantly, and sometimes the problem occurs despite these efforts.
All in all, I am unimpressed.

We have to prerinse dishes to get them fairly clean before putting them in and they never come out dry. If we do not rinse off before washing we see the same food on the dishes after they have been "washed". We are already looking to replace this machine and it is less than one year old. What a piece of junk! We have tried all sorts of detergents and rinse aids and have never found a solution that didn't end up with us hand-drying the dishes. Also, if you don't empty right away, it begins smelling very funky inside. We bought an LG refrigerator at the same time as the dishwasher and are pleased with it but this dishwasher, which is a mid to high end price range, is garbage.
