Worst dishwasher I have ever owned

I have owned this dishwasher for 3 months now and I want to get my 15 year old dishwasher that I replaced back! It does not clean the dishes very well at all. All the baby bottles still have formula in them even though I rinsed them out first. The parts of the bottles have to be run through twice. I make myself a smoothie every morning and the cups I use have to be run through twice and they still don't get clean. I had LG come out to look at it and he said that is just how this machine cleans. So basically it is a low quality machine for $600. He was nice about it but still... I hate this machine. Plus I don't think it is very quiet as some others say. I am returning it to home depot and I am getting a GE. Hope I have better luck with this one!

Cheap part ruins any other advantages

I have been using this machine for about 1 year now, and as far as the cleaning goes, it does an acceptable job with very low noise level. We don't ask it to do much, so the cleaning ability is satisfactory for our needs. My problem is with the CHEAP brackets used to hold this machine to the counter top. They are flimsy and bend out of shape with normal opening and closing of the dishwasher over time. I have re-attached them FIVE times in 1 year, and today one of them finally broke. The tiny flange the is supposed to attach to the dishwasher isn't strong enough to hold a mosquito in a paper bag! I would not buy this machine again, nor would I recommend it to a friend. This is based largely on the theory that if they skimped that badly on this tiny part, one only knows what other skimping is in the machine.

Bad Product, Very Disappointed

I've owned this LG dishwasher for about 1 year now. The unit worked well for about 4 months. Then it started making a grinding sound from underneath. Not the usual food disposal sound. An LG repairman replaced the motor; the only one in the unit. The noise returned intermittently a few months later; it still occurs quite often, but I cannot get LG to check it again. Also, LG does not believe in a "lemon" rule so they won't exchange the entire unit.
After 8 months, the plastic coating on both dish racks started cracking in many places exposing the metal wire beneath, which of course rusted. LG did send a new set of racks, but the design is the same. I expect it to happen again.
Cleaning is average; no better than our old Whirlpool. You will never pack as much into it as LG claims. Dense packing does not allow the items to come clean. Having paid so much for this appliance, I expected alot, but the overall performance is poor and the customer service only slightly better. It gets used only several times per week. I am just waiting for the next problem to occur.

This dishwasher was a disappointment from the beginning. The tub smells of rancid food even after being loaded for one day. We had a repairman who said that LG dishwashers do not drain completely but have a reservoir underneath that holds the dirty food. Only suggestion was to keep the door ajar at all times to let it air out. This should not be required with any dishwasher, let alone one at this price.
The "quiet" operation now rattles for the 2 hours it takes to run a normal cycle.
Now the tub will not drain and all the digital controls are lit up, and going online with LG, they state they do not have a service tech in my area, so we are on our own.
Finally, I agree that the finished cycle light should stay on until the door is open.
All in all, this dishwasher was a big mistake and I would not by an LG appliance again.

We have had the dishwasher for a week. So far it is good. The dishwasher is so quiet. That is great. Our dishes come out clean. The negative is that I do not feel it holds a great deal.

This dishwasher is great!! Lots of room, does a great job and is Super Quiet. I have never had a dishwasher this quiet before, running my kitchen faucet is louder than the dishwasher is. I have very hard water and the dishes come out cleaner than they did even when my old dishwasher was brand new. Great Product!!

We bought this to replace the old dishwasher that came with house. The only good thing I can say is that it is very quiet. We have had it less than three years. It doesn't clean the dishes as well as our old Maytag, is hard to keep the outside clean, and the door leaks severly. I will not buy an LG product. Over priced and low quality.

This dishwasher has been nothing but trouble from the moment it was installed. Two circuit boards and a plumbing redo later we are still getting error codes. It is a lemon and I can't wait to get rid of it. Steer clear of all LG dishwashers!

After reading the reviews on this LG dishwasher, we were very hesitant about buying it. But we loved the features so we decided to take a chance and purchased it. We have had it for several months now and have no complaints! There are a lot of complaints about the drying system. The key to this is you HAVE to use a rinse agent. That is part of the "hybrid drying system". There is a feature on the dishwasher that lets you know when you are low on rinse agent. There is no heating unit in this dishwasher. It makes it more energy efficient. Also, it uses a lot less water. We have saved so much money on water. Our old GE dishwasher used 4x as much water as this one does. Our dishes have came out sparkling clean every time! And I never have to rinse the dishes before putting them in. It is one of the largest dishwashers you can get. Another feature I use a lot is the quick wash. It is half of the normal washing cycle. I use this for dishes that aren't that dirty. I actually use this most often. I am not sure why there have been so many complaints about this dishwasher. Several of the associates at Home Depot told us they also own LG and have been really happy with the product. I have never written a review on a product before, but I had to on this one! I highly recommend this dishwasher!

Well, reading the other reviews, I just wish they would love it as much as I do. I've been stuck with a Maytag for 6 years. It had problems from the first moment. Everything that could go wrong did including having to rewash all my dishes because they always came out with dry food stuck on them. I've had this LG for only a week and I'm still amazed at how shiny my dishes are when I open the dishwasher. Perfectly clean and spotless and yes..dry also. I can also start it and watch tv at the same time. You can't hear it at all if the tv is on. The racks are deep. I can even put a big pasta pot on the top shelf with no hassle. The bottom rack has come off its tracks a couple of times but it's no biggie. I have an LG washer/dryer wich I also love. I highly recommend this dishwasher. Oh, it also has the food disposal with the self cleaning filter. It's amazing how happy a family can get over an appliance.

The plastic wheels that guild the racks break from the heat. Frist two broke after a couple of months. After a couple years more broke. Then the adjustable racks broke. Now the thing is very loud. It is four years now. The stainless interior smells of trash shortly after dishes are loaded, I guess because it doesn't vent. Dishes don't dry well, but after all I had been through, who can complain about dry dishes. That was the least of my worries. It is quiet when it is working.

Our old Kenmore dishwasher finally gave up after 9 years of heavy use. We went to home depot because it was close by to purchase our next dishwasher. I have never had an LG product before this one and I will never buy another based on this experience.
First of all the "steam dry" issue is a joke, your dishes do not come out dry (see Consumer Reports March 08). The dishes also are not clean the first time through, even when they are rinsed beforehand! The bottom rack is anything but smooth on it's tracks, it's a train wreck! The door when open practically hits the floor so you have to stoop way down to pick it up. Beware!
