Wireless radio frequency remote controls are the easiest way to add switched outlet convenience without wiring or the need for an electrician. Works with incandescent and CFL bulbs. Remote works from up to 100 ft. away.
I wanted to be able to turn on my outdoor light when I came home instead of leaving it on all day and wasting power. First, I needed two remote transmitters, but it only comes with one, so I had to purchase 2 packages. The job required some re-wiring to place an outlet by the light and a plug on the light wires--see photo. It worked great--could turn on the light from my car, then turn it off with the other remote when I got in the house. But in just 6 months one remote transmitter quit working.(A year later, which was yesterday, I got it out to try to figure out what is wrong, and the battery is still strong but the remote won't work.) Also, eventually the plug-in receiver quit working, so I had to use the spare one. Now that is a shoddy product, and I would not buy one again....even though I like what the product does. I've attached a photo so you can see the set-up in case you want to take a chance on this yourself.

Review 2 for Hand Held Transmitter & Plug-In Receiver
Worked fine and was very handy, and then suddenly it stopped working. I checked the battery, which tested OK, but bought another one anyway. I moved the unit right next to the transmitter in case the signal was too weak, but it simply is broken. With no moving parts in the receiver, I am at a loss as to why it would simply stop working, but others report the same. Would not recommend it.

No, I do not recommend this product.
No fix and no warranty on this. Beware. Worked well and then died. After just average use.
