It's a Wonderful Saver

In these times of economic crunch, my Deni Food Dehydrator helps to preserve any extras from the garden, and its really helpful on drying spices. Wait to you try drying apples and peaches to use later for fried pies. Anytime you have extra food you can save. Driying lemons and limes for cooking for fish or mexican foods, just pull out a pack of your dried food. You save lots of cabinet space by using the Deni Food Dehydrator. Its fast and easy and comes with many trays. Home Depot had the Deni that I had been looking for and it was shipped and arrived in a couple days.

I used this machine for making beef jerky. This is the 4th dehydrator I have owned. The adjustable trays are a great idea, but I had a little trouble stacking them where I wanted them consistently, The vent on top makes a big difference in drying time. The first batch I left the vent wide open, and it took about 15 hrs . 2nd batch I closed the vent by half after the first 4 hrs and was dry in another 5.

Great for making backpacking foods

Pros: Cleans up easy.Solid built, Quiet, Quick dehydration times. variety of uses: (Jerky/spice making/storing/backpacking) .
Cons: Trays kind of shallow. I wish the trays were about 1/4" deeper to make thicker sliced items.
This is my first dehydrator. I bought it to dehydrate food that I could reconstitute later for making light weight meals when back-packing.
I made dehydrated ground beef, natural fruit leathers, dehydrated hashbrowns, ham, different fruits, a variety of vegetables, spagetti and beef and venison jerkies.
All foods took less than 6-10 hours to dehydrate and everything kept and reconstituted beautifully. I was the envy of my friends every time I hiked, because they were living off of granola and meals in a bag, while I was pretty much eating just like I opened my refer at home.

No, I do not recommend this product.
Terrible, TERRIBLE dehydrator. It actually BURNS the food on one side, while under-cooking the other. Not to mention a tray broke when I was trying to wash it (the outer edges are chips of plastic that don't hold up to scrubbing pressure), and the food sticks horribly. PLEASE don't waste your money, time, or produce!
