Operates as advertised. Some parts seem a bit delicate so be gentle when removing and replacing the water bottle. Relatively quiet on low speed. Bottle gurgles occasionally as a large drinking water bottle in a dispenser when the internal tank is refilled. (Not a complaint, just an observation). Can definitely feel the increased humidity when the unit is operating. Used in conjunction with ceiling fans distributes the humidity through out the house rapidly. Used in a single story 1790 sq ft home in Las Vegas, NV. Not yet used in the summer heat with the air conditioner operating so cannot comment on operation under that condition.

This humidifier has 4 speeds which means you can run it quietly when needed or loud and fast to raise humidity quickly. It shuts off automatically when it is out of water and indicates you need to fill it up. It is powerful as it covers most of the house. Water fill up is easy with the removable tank. It also has wheels to move it easily.

The build quality is decent, considering the price. When you remove to top, the sides seem flimsy, but while it's together, it's sturdy enough. The fan looks like it is off center. It visibly wobbles while it's spinning. It's still nice and quiet in the low fan setting.
My only real disappointment is that too much inside humidity can actually cause damage to your house. Before purchasing the unit I had a humidity meter that indicated 20% to 30% humidity. My skin is dry and static electricity is a problem, so I thought a humidifier would solve this. What I didn't realize is that with our outside temperatures, these inside humidity levels are about maximum. If they were any higher, condensation would form in the walls which can lead to mold or fungus or even physical damage to the house. Fortunately the manual warns of this. I do get some use out of it on warmer days but unfortunately it can't solve the problems I bought it for.

We really like this humidifier. It is easy to fill, clean etc. I really like the fact of the humidity meter. It shows the level of humidity even if it is not running.

I have had this product for about a month now and I am quite happy with the product and what it does in my home. I believe that by raising the humidity level in my home, the gas-fired hot air heating system is operating more efficiently. At least it FEELS that way (which is what I was after in purchasing this humidifier).
Set up was a snap and problem-free. Filling the humidifier is simple. I have learned not to wait for the letter F (for fill) to show up. Instead, I simply lift up on the removable water canister. If there is resistance, the canister still contains water and is not ready to be filled. If there is no resistance, simply remove the canister and fill it at the kitchen sink. In my house, it is necessary to fill the canister three times per day. Can you imagine how many times a day I would have to re-fill one of those little desktop units to get the same effecft?
Other reviewers on this site have mentioned water dripping from the canister when adding water. That may be true, but it is to be expected and quite normal. The bottom of the refillable canister sits in water if the lower water tank is realtively full at the time the refillable canister is removed. The result can be a drip or two falling from the bottom of the refillable canister when you pick it up. There are two fixes for this. One: simply place your had under the refillable canister when you pick it up and take it to the sink for refilling. Two: wait for the letter "F" to show up on the indicator light. That means the bottom tank is empty and there is nearly zero chance that water would drip from the bottom of the refillable tank.
It is difficult to accurately measure how much money I am saving on heat, but I have been able to feel comfortable at lower temperature settings than I could before getting this humidifier. I take that as a good sign that I will save money over the long run. I don't really care. My goal was to feel warmer and this unit accomplished that.
I would be happy to recommend this product to anyone seeking more comfort at lower indoor temperatures.

Unfortunately this item arrived with a malfunctioning fan speed control and had to be returned. This was my third one that arrived damaged from the manufacturer. The only one that worked lasted three weeks before a malfunctioning electronic numeral indicator required me to return it. When functioning it worked well, lowest fan speed was tolerable and humidified air quality. Was disappointed that previous reviews did not live up to my experiences with their product.

I have had this humidifier for 2 months and have had no problems. After 2 cabinate type "Rube Goldberg" designs, this is excellent in design, construction, ease of filling and ease of changing filter/wick. The 2 high speed fan speeds are somewhat noisy but the low speed is all I use and sufficient. Small in comparison to previous units. Highly recomend

Unfortunately, I had to return the humidifier.. because it had signs of previous use.......discoloration, worn wick, dust and other tuff on fan blades.

I've read more humidifier reviews than I ever, ever cared to. Then bought and tried two different units. Both failed quickly. It seems I could not find any humidifier that got consistently good reviews. Then I ran across this one. Good reviews. Bought one. I can say that so far, it has been fine doing what it's supposed to do and easy to operate and fill. Which is great. That's all I want. Of course it's louder on high, but I just turn it on and up before I go to bed. By the time I go to bed, the humidity is up good, so I turn it down to lowest, quietest setting and it will automatically cycle as needed to maintain the desired humidity level. If I have any problem with the digital display control, I just unplug, replug, and it resets and everything is fine. I'm sure it will keep up with a much larger area, but all I'm doing is a 12x20 bedroom with a 10' ceiling. Works great.

This is an updated review. I have had 2 weeks. It is a little loud on even lowest setting so it would be borderline in a TV room and its too loud on high. So I put it in a less used room leave it on low and it works fine. It is easy to fill and the hydrometer is accurate and turns it on and off as needed.

After much research and actually calling the manfacturer of this humidier for information I choose it because it was priced much lower than other brands who's product was for the same purpose. I need to keep the humidity level in my home at around 50% to protect recently installed hardwood flooring. My home is over 1800 sq. ft. and it is doing it job keeping the whole house within this range. I only run the fan on the second speed to achieve so from the performance I am experienceing this humidifier would work in an even larger space. It shuts off when the level is reached and back on again when the humidity level reaches 48% I would definitely recommend this product.

This humidifer appears to be efficient in raising the humidity in my house. I placed it in the center of the house near a hallway so the humidity could be shared thorought the house. The product description is misleading since the product only holds two tankfuls of water (7.8) gallons of water and not 12 gallons. The water tank is somewhat awkward to fill.

We live in the high desert of Wyoming and have very low humidity. Our house is 3,800 sq. ft. (upper level and finished basement) and has a closed boiler system. I bought this unit based on reviews here to replace a smaller unit that quit working and don't know when I've been so happy with a product. We've had the unit a couple of months.
It is very easy to fill by laying horizontally on the center divider in the kitchen sink and swinging the spout over the opening. The tank's carry handle makes it easy to transport to the unit.
We ran the unit on high when we first got it to get the humidity up. Now, I refill twice per day and the unit keeps the humidity at 35-40% on the low setting which is very quiet.

Simple humidifier. The price for these things is a little crazy for how simple they are, but it's all the brands, so I won't hold it against this model. There's a bobber in it that pushes on a switch, and that's how it knows if it needs refilled. On mine, the bobber had a hole in the bottom where it wasn't supposed to be, so it filled with water and stopped floating. That made it think it needed refilled. If that happens to you, just blow in the hole on top until all the water is out, then put a piece of tape over the top hole (the one that is supposed to be there) and no air can get out. No air out, no water in. Problem solved.

Convenient setup. Recommends cleaning every 2 weeks. But it is noisier than I expected. Even at the lowest setting it is too loud for a TV room. Not sure why a fan has to be so loud.

I bought this humidifier because it had a good test rating by Consumer Reports. Although the humidifier is noise on high fan setting. I run the fan on low setting and it does a good. So far very pleased with the humidifier.

I debated the merits of this design and more traditional faux wood cabinet boxes. Now I am happy with this choice. The plastic case may be a weak point but plastic does not rust. A big clumsy dog or a curious kid might dislodge the water tank but I 've come to appreciate its elegent simplcity. This is quite easy to fill. This sits unobtrusively and, using the slow fan setting, is able to keep my 2,000 sq ft. house at 55%.
