Our previous dryer was heated via LP gas. This dryer is electric, which takes longer to dry clothing. That was expected, so we are pleased with the dryer. At this time, only ten loads have been dried and the dryer operated flawlessly.

I just got the dryer installed 1 week ago. The dryer is working perfectly and its value is great. However, I am giving a rate of 4 stars since I believe the quality of the product needs to be assessed after reasonable time of use.

This dryer works great. Had it for a month now. Wrinkle free mode actually seems to work in this one. Amount of drying selected on the dial is what you get.
I know some say it's a basic model, but what else do you want a dryer to do? Timed dryer setting, Automatic Variable dryness settings, Air dry settings, Variable temp settings, Wrinkle preventer, Alert Sound on/off, a nice big lint colector on top, and a light inside.
Can't say anything about longevity, since I've only owned it for a month, but I bought the extended in house 4/5 year warrenty since my previous one (GE) died after 2 years. It cost me as much for the service visit ($96.95) on the old dryer where I chose not to pay for the motor replacment of almost $400, as the extended warrenty did ($99.95).
For the price of this unit, I'd definetly recommend the extended warrenty. Once bitten twice shy.

The Dryer is new to me, so I can only comment on the features and operation. My old dryer was an Amana which I purchased new 10 -15 years ago (can't remember how old it was). After looking a a lot of different makes and models and reading their reviews, plus looking for used models on Craigs List, I decided to replace the old unit (which still works) with a new Amana. The two major considerations in my decision was 1. My experience with my Amana dryer, and 2. I found very few used Amana dryers for sale, lots and lots of other brands, but few if any by Amana. People don't usually get rid of late model appliances unless they are getting rid of a problem.
So far I like the new dryer, it does what it was designed to do, dry cloths, without a lot of complicated settings.

We purchased this dryer in January 2012 when our dryer quit drying. It really gets a large load of clothes dry. A full load of towels drys just like a load of socks. Good dryer for the money.

This dryer is adequate. Dries well, but clothes are static-y. I scraped off some of the shipping tape on the front blue panel after it was delivered, and some of the blue paint came off with my fingernail. I'm not overly impressed with this dryer, but its a good price and its doing the job.

I ordered this dryer online so didn't know exactly what to expect. I like the styling and blue accents on the dials. I love how quickly it dries my clothes - especially towels. I was sorry to have to replace my 15 yr. old Kenmore, but now realize the performance I was missing with it and/or how much better driers are now. It also operates very quietly!

We have only had a week but my wife loves the large capacity and she likes the fact when the load is done it signals that it is done. So many dryers don't do this simple feature but my wife finds it important to have. The dryer is easy to use, does a good job and can handle heavy loads which is a time saver. We are very happt with this dryer so far.

Our new Maytag is just right for us. We have a large family so we needed a large dryer capacity. This fits the bill. It doesn't have a lot of features on it but I have found that I really didn't use them all when I did have them. I also like the light inside because it makes it harder to lose those stray socks or undies that are usually forgotten in the dark recesses. I have had it for a few weeks and no problems yet.

I just got this washer-dryer set last week and have only done three loads so these are just initial impressions. They replaced a 35-year-old pair of Maytags that were still running strong but were short on features. On first operation the main thing that concerned me was the low water level for the rinse cycle - it barely fills the tub halfway up the load. It then agitates the load downwards and outwards to flush the clothes through the water (or at least, that's how I think it works. You can't see the agitators in action because the lid safety switch is internally operated by the hinge and can't be defeated by a screwdriver or a skinny finger with the lid open. Since I like to know how things operate this is frustrating. But I'll figure out something, count on it). I'm sensitive to detergent so a good rinse is imperative. Fortunately the Extra Rinse cycle fills the tub full enough to cover the load so I just leave the knob there all the time and get a good complete rinse. Without the Extra Rinse the clothes still have patches of visible suds after the spin....no good. I understand most modern washers are like this.
Outside of that, it works fine. Same noise level as my old Maytag, but a different kind of sound. The new washers are also much lighter than the old ones (less heavy steel, more plastic/air so the days of appliances still going strong after 35 years are long past, I'm sure). This lightness means a lot more shaking during the spin but also less vibration carried through the house (I live in a doublewide). Most importantly, my clothes came out noticeably cleaner than with the old washer, using less detergent, and the wash & wear shirts were less flattened. Overall I'm happy with it and I like the features that give more control over the wash than any washer I've had before.
