I was worried it wouldn't have enough power to do a really good job. I was truly mistaken. This steamvac does an incredible job. I was very pleased. The spot cleaner brush is designed to do a really good job. I've never had a shampooer with all the attachments. I'm looking forward to using this on my sofa and other upholstery.

Does a good job of cleaning even though it does not steam like advertised. The clean out tool is not needed. All you have to do when you are done is to have a pan about a half inch deep and as wide as the front of the cleaner, put some water in it and turn on the machine, cleans it out like new.

I manage a small property management company. We've used Hoover SteamVacs for the last few years and they have worked out very well. The only downside is that both the water tanks are kind of small so you end up having to empty the dirty water and refill the clean water frequently.

love the carpet cleaner. Sliced my finger open trying to convert over to the upholstery cleaner. Rated product as good and not excellent because the upholstery cleaner really doesn't work all that great. But I use it just for the carpets.

I was quite impressed with the delivery of this product. It arrived right on time. I was also pleasantly impressed with this vacuum steamer. The description actually does what it says the vacuum will do. We recently had a water sewerage overflow (not flooded) in our basement bathroom and we had one of the service companies take care of the sewer issue, however a portion of our carpet near the bathroom was drenched all the way down to the under padding of it, leaving water stains and a misty smell in the air. We were concerned of having to replace the whole carpet all together ($$$$). Our desperate solution was to use the Hoover steam vac ($$) to clean the carpet, in the meantime, and lift it to steam clean the under padding as well. After several days of repeating the steam cleaning process, and leaving the carpet to dry in between, we noticed the improved look of the carpet & padding and the diminished misty smell. The vacuum actually took care of what we needed done. Now our basement is back to normal and my husband has his man-cave back. I would definitely recommend this product.

I have cleaned two houses with this product - regular pile carpet, berber carpet, and linoleum floor - did great on all three...got up carpet stains that have been there for months. Great investment.

The ease of use is far below average. I've used other "steam" cleaners and none were this difficult.
After finally getting it assembled, it took all my strength to just be able to pull it along the carpet because it does not have a tilted handle. Then when I tried to use the attachments, it got worse. It took me forever, while using instruction manual and youtube instructional videos, to even get the hand tools assembled. And then they didn't work!! A little dribble of liquid came out, but there was no suction although it was hooked up correctly. So I never even was able to use the hand tools.
Oh, and then to find where the cords, hoses, and hand tools go once you're done? Forget about it.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY, TIME, AND HASSLE!!
No, I do not recommend this product.

After reading the review of previous buyers, we decided to buy it and I must say any home with kids and pets is a great tool to have. We got some water in our basement due to the "Irene storm" and the steamVac removed the water stains on our basement carpet and it came out like new. We also did all the 3 bedrooms and all the stuburn stains came out with the push of a surge. Very happy with the product.

My parents were having our annual family & friends pot luck and celebrating their anniversary. My mother wanted to clean top to bottom so we bought this to clean our carpets. It worked great. Our carpets were much better than when we first moved in. It was very easy for us to use and my dad had no problems putting together what little had to be put together.

I read a ton of reviews on The home depot website regarding this steam cleaner and everyone gave great reviews . I have three kids and a dog. Basically my carpet had so many stains. Now in the past I have used the rug doctar steam cleaners . I will admit they are heavy and they only clean like one strip before you have to dump the dirty water and get more. But the rug doctar actually cleaned deep down beyond the surface of the carpet and removed a lot of stubborn stains. This Hoover vac just barely skimmed the top of the surface and I mean barely. I had to go over a stained area 4 times. Thats with pre-soaking twice and then trying to scrub it more and then steam cleaning. The stains were still there. So your basically just wanting to maybe remove odors or just refresh your carpet this vac would be ok . But for a heavy duty cleaning this vac does not make the cut.

This is my third Hoover Steam Vac. I bought one 8 years ago and it worked great. Did a great job with water extraction and lifting up the dirt without soaking the carpet. Replaced it with another but lower end Hoover Vac from Wal Mart and was very disappointed with the quality and performance. This model was great and very similar to my first. May even do a better job! Love the attachments and brushes! Very easy to put together.
