Works well for me

I read an earlier review about the battery time on these units - I've had a handful of outtages since I installed them and they've worked well for me. Of course I haven't timed them but I only use them to be able to exit the basement shop when the power goes out (and makes sure anything that's not on a magnetic switch is off) so 10-15 minutes is plenty for me. Expecting them to last more than an hour (I think the other review wanted 90 minutes?) seems excessive for what they're designed for, irrespective of what is in the product description. Just my opinion.

power goes off, light comes on.... so far so good.
But the cord is too short. It does not allow light to be mounted higher than the door frame near the ceiling. And why would the low profile plug point down? I had to rewire the dang thing to make it fit above head level.

No, I do not recommend this product.
The description says it provides a minimum of 90 minutes of light during a power failure. I beg to differ.
I bought this about two months ago to replace a similar light I had been using for years, which had finally worn out. I couldn't find another like it, so I decided on this one, hoping it would be as good.
It isn't. I live in an area that has frequent power failures. As luck whould have it, we've had a failure-free winter, until last night. We lost power at almost the stroke of midnight. The power was out for six hours. The light came on immediately, and was bright enough to provide the emergency lighting I wanted for the living room and hall. The light lasted 32 minutes and then shut off. End of light. Period.
I am not at all pleased.
