High Efficiency Electric Panel Heater

The ECO-heater offers out-of-the-way wall mounting and is an economic way of providing efficient room heating at a low cost. Using convection technology, heat is mainly generated behind the heater in the space between the panel and the wall, which leads to an efficient up-draft of heat circulated into the room. This principle of convection means that about 90% of the heat comes from the back of the panel, while only 10% is radiated from the front of the panel. This form of "background" heating is not only very economic, but also safe and efficient. Your ECO-heater is designed as an alternative to conventional space heaters and other systems that use large amounts of electricity. It operates using the same electricity as 4 100 watt light bulbs, while heating an entire room!

Placement is key

I really like the 3.3. amp pull, not only for cost savings, but that it allows you to place it on lower amp circuits where you could not have one of thos 12-15 amp space heaters. I thought it would have to be hard wired, but it's a plug in, which is nice. This is convection heat, so don't expect to heat the room quickly. Installation is a snap.
Two things:
First and foremost, PLACEMENT IS Key. Follow the guidelines included--don't mount by doors, under windows or stairwells. I mounted mine in the corner of the bedroom near the cloest, away from door and window, and it works great.
My only regret os that when I got it, it included infor about accessories that didn't come up on HomeDepot.com, such as an optional thermostat. But most importantly they mention an optional reflective attacvhment to go between wall and heater--I don't know how effective that would be in increasing efficiency, but if I knew of it's existence I would have bought when I bought the heater.

eco-heater:well worth the purchase!

I purchased my first Eco-heater about two years ago, after reading about it in the back of a Modern Science magazine. The idea of using a convection based circulation not only intrigued me enough to purchase the unit. The way it works-even in a room with a small vault- with no hot or cold spots was astounding. What really cinched it for me was the low impact on the electric bill, when used as it should be used. Of course conditions will vary the amount of savings as compared to other styled heaters, but from where I am, it's a winner!

No, I do not recommend this product.
I'm trying hard to buy eco friendly products... I should of bought the baseboard heater I wanted, this panel keeps the heat on the wall and up in the ceiling and the floor still cold and don't really feel it in the rest of the room.

No, I do not recommend this product.
I bought several of these to use in my home and garage.
The one in the living room (14x16) gets hot to the touch but doesn't increase the temperature of the room. Not even by one degree. The furnace is set to 68 degrees and the thermostat is in the other room. The thermometer in the living room is exactly the same as the furnace thermostat setting and temp.
I even left it on over night for three days and no increase in temp. What a waste.

What a great idea and it's easy to move. Radiant heat is the most efficient way to go. It doesn't dry the air and makes NO noise.
