70 CFM Through-the-Wall Exhaust Bath Fan

The Broan Through-the-Wall 70 CFM Ventilator Fan uses 70 CFMs to help improve ventilation and remove humidity from kitchens, laundry rooms and more. The fan is made with a 3-1/2 sones motor for efficiency and is compatible with a remotely mounted wall switch or Broan 57W or 57V variable speed control for simple operation (sold separately). The white interior grille offers a handsome appearance and the fan comes with a louvered exterior wall cap and built-in bird screen.

I bought four of these bathroom fans, but found out they were not rated for moisture areas like above shower or tub. I returned three and used one in a half bath. I have yet to turn it on as it will be a couple of months before we get power to this new building.

One issue that should be addressed is the exterior damper. The three flap shutter design allows light and air to flow freely into the house. I would consider a redesign to have a tight backdraft flap and a hood to reduce light from entering. My customers are experiencing cold air blowing through the fan when not in use. I am currently looking for an alternate solution to solve this issue.

Just marginal performance for the exact room size in specs. Fan motor is weak, takes a minute to achieve max rpm. Over-priced for the performance. Nice to look at though. Added a thermostat switch so that when laundry room heats up exhaust fan comes on. Combo works good.

The fan assembly was a direct replacement for a through the wall type. I am pleased that it arrived a couple of days earlier than promised. It was easy to mount in the existing hole and because it came with an expandable/flexible duct it spand the overall out to out dimension perfectly. I would recommend this fan.

Not many thru the wall fans available. Balanced different features of those available and chose the Broan. Very happy that I did. It was easy to install and is quite quiet. Does the job the job I needed.

Needs longer wires - lets say 4'. May be Romex. In this case you don't need any splice box and you can connect directly to a switch or a close lamp, that I did. it is easier to install without connection box.
For BX cable you need to leave a connection box option.
Yes, I recommend this product.
