II 9.8-oz. Clear Window and Door Caulk (24 count)
For long-lasting performance, seal your home with silicone. Why silicone, Silicone is permanently waterproof, airtight and flexible. Extreme temperatures or sun (UV) exposure can cause some products to dry out, break and crumble over time, leaving gaps and cracks for air and water to seep through. Silicone is different and will not shrink, crack or crumble over time, like other caulking products.

The crew I hired to replace my window trim and brick molding around my two story house used this product per my specific instructions. I went to inspect the house a couple of weeks later and discovered that ALL of the clear caulk was grey. I questioned the crew I had already paid, all who denied using a grey caulk and all insist they used the correct GE Clear Caulk product. They were at a loss for an explanation. Note: When the work was done the weather was dry. No rain for days.
I was very angry and out a lot of money in caulk, labor, and preparing to paint. I blamed the crew, until I read the postings here yesterday. So, last night I talked with someone in the paint department of my local Home Depot and discovered more color issue information on this caulk which can also be Googled.
I am about to replace the siding with Hardi or Maxi Plank, pine window trim and brick molding with PVC, caulk again, and then paint all. I love GE caulk but will not use this product. because of the color change it must be a paintable paint. For the past year my house is one color and all of the caulking is grey. I would recommend IF they fixed the color change issue. This should not happen.
Pros: Very Adhesive, Even Application, High Quality of Material, Easy to Apply, Easy Instructions, Good Coverage, Easy to Clean, Easy to Use, Good Protection, Modern, Dries Quickly
Cons: changes color dramatically when dry

ALTHOUGH THIS CAULK SAYS IT WAS CLEAR I USED IT AROUND MY WINDOWS AND IT DRYS GRAY IN COLOR NOT CLEAR. VERY DISAPPOINTED AS I PAID MORE FOR THIS PRODUCT AND THE RESULTS WERE POOR.

It comes out in a predicable bead and looks like glue and dries clear. It really does dry clear, so don't expect it to hide gaps or cracks. It is best used as just a filler. I used it to cover a small gap in the bottom of a shower tile. It worked, but when it dried, it was so clear it looked like nothing had been done! Other products that say clear sometimes dry to a off-white, but a thin bead of this is really clear.

I used this silicone sealer as an adhesive for a roof application. I have a new "Durolast" composite roof that makes most kinds of gutter guard materials difficult or impossible to use.
Home Depot now carries a gutter guard design that completely covers the gutters so that tree debris cannot get into the gutters at all, but water is still able to flow into the gutters. They are meant to be inserted underneath the edges of the shingles at the roof edge. but my roof is a smooth, plastic composite with no edge for the gutter guard strips to attach underneath.
I tested the G.E. Silicone sealer on both the roof material and the plastic gutter guards to be sure that the gutter guard strips could be removed from the roof surface if that became necessary in the future, and the silicone adhesive worked fine in separating the two materials that were glued together.
But the silicone is impervious to the heat and cold ranges that we experience in Central CA, and the adhesive is plenty strong enough to hold the gutter guard material onto the roof edge even in the strongest of winds.
The G.E. silicone and the new solid sheet gutter guard materials make the perfect combination to keep the gutters free of tree debris with absolutely zero cleaning or maintenance if you have the unusual "Durolast" material covering your roof.

The last time we purchased something other than the GE brand, it was not water tight AT ALL. Back to HD we went, to return the leftover cheap stuff, and to buy what we should have gotten to begin with. This stuff seals well, dries quickly & does not shrink!

This is an ideal product for sealing up around any type of installation requiring cutting holes in parts of your house. Recently used this item to seal around wood stove pipe placed thru the wall with a Duravent Chimney kit.
