This trimmer is advertised as easy-start. I opened the box and assembled the trimmer head then mixed the oil and gas exactly as the instructions stated. I followed the starting instructions, but no matter what I did it would not start. So, back to the store it went. I figured it was a lemon. I got another one, same thing. I even had a friend who works in the landscape business try to start it, thinking I had done something wrong. Nope. Back to the store. I will not buy Echo again, even though everyone says they are great.

OK, I've owned trimmers from Homelite to Ryobi, gas and battery powered ,but this is a reinvention of the wheel we needed. You know the drill, make sure its in the run position.... prime it, pull on it, pull on it, pull on it you pull harder to make it spin faster ...in hopes of cranking
Not this one, you tug on the pull cord and release, then by "majic" a spring from somewhere releases and the motor spins all by itself and after a choke setting its at idle ready for those weeds or errant grass by your walk....and with that .095 string it makes quick work of it too....This is one item worth the extra few bucks to get thisd feature...and a 5 year homw owners warranty too....Yeah you could say I'm satisfied with mine.....

After using a Craftsman for 1 year, and having it fail, we decided to buy up and go for this Echo. So far, so good, although the assembly instructions could have been more clearly written. This model also takes 89 octane with the Echo mix, which is different than required for your other 2 cycle gas lawn tools..

I had just got home from my uncles and get suprised with a Echo SRM 225 straight shaft weedeater i have used it since i got it on saturday and i really enjoy the power and preformance of it even when getting to taller weeds it never boggs dwn or loses power. And the five year warrenty is the very best out on the market to where stihl and husqvarna only have a two yr warranty. The echo brand will keep going as long as u do the proper maitnace like the air filter and checking the torx bolts once in a while. It takes the T27 torx socket or screwdriver.

By far, the easiest pull start I've ever experienced. The new I-75 start system literally allows you to pull with 2 fingers and it starts.... Minimal vibration and very easy to use. Another nice feature is the ability to replace the line without having the take apart the trimmer head. You simply put the line in the head and turn the head.....SWEET... I

I've only used the SRM-225i once, but it worked like a champ. Really liked the i-75 starting technology. It is AWESOME, especially compared to other gas powered tools. Half a pull on the cord and the trimmer starts. Amazing!

Very easy to start and lite weight. I mow two very large yards every week that have a lot of trimming to be done and this trimmer handles them with no problem. I have recommended to some of my friends and they cant believe how easy it starts.

Started on the 3rd pull right out the box, after initial start it first time everytime. This was the first time I trimmied this year (mid June) some of the weeds down on our beach were waist high. this trimmer took them down without any problems. I'd recommend this trimmer to anyone looking for a high quality machine. The only thing I'd recommend is if you hve a lot of trimming to do, buy yourself a harness, it does get heavy after awhile.

I'm going to make this short and to-the-point.... Quit reading and buy this trimmer! After all of my research, this is surely the one I needed to own.
It's perfect for the average homeowner with a very broad amount of trimming and edging to be done. This ranges from light yard trimming, to all-out shrub clearing. It has great power, more than enough. It's also very quiet.

Finally I have found a trimmer that meets my standards.
Started on the 2nd pull out of the box, and has great power. It may have bogged down a little when I was in thicker stuff, but previous trimmers just cut out. I am a big guy, but I still don't think it is all that heavy.
I hate loading line, but it wasn't all that bad. I will probably purchase a blade pack.
Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone. Five stars!!!!
