Silver brazing kit

I have a old welding machine and it stopped working, examined it and found that the silver contacts had worn through, used this kit to braze (another word for solder - but at a higher temperature) new silver contacts onto copper.
Used a standard butane blow torch, frankly it just did not have the power, took most of the day to cut the pieces to the correct shape and thickness then to try to braze them.
Took a long time for the silver to melt, I guess i need an oxy acty torch, that would have made the brazing process quicker.
The product worked as it should, just that I had the wrong tools to melt the "solder".

I needed to fix some small rust holes in a large tank, but do not own oxy/act torches to braze them up. I used this stuff (or something very similar) years ago as a tool & die maker in place of brazing for high strength bonding at a lower temperature. Wasn't sure I could get enough heat out of my propane torch to make it work on the large tank, but I thought I would try this first for the low price.
Came 4 days after I placed the order, even though I did not pay for express shipping. Can't beat that!
Experimented on a piece of flat scrap steel about .090 thick that I drilled a 3/32 hole through. Took a couple of tries but I could easily get it hot enough and with the flux the product flowed easily. A little tricky to cover the hole without it all being sucked through it, but I figured it out.
Moved onto the tank. Cleaned it up real good, spent some time to get the part of the tank being repaired as close to at the top as possible so the silver solder would pool at the hole without running off. Worked really well, with propane torch providing more than enough heat to heat the tank and melt the silver solder. Filed the excess off when I was done and painted it to match.
I probably used about 1/4 of the silver solder and even less of the flux to fix four holes (including my test hole). If I ever have any larger jobs I would buy the Stay-Silv-56 rods Home Depot sells instead of the wire roll in this kit. This kit is best for small jobs.
From other shopping I did on the web, Home Depot was the cheapest and I got it really fast. Would buy this again if I ever use the rest of it up.

A good option for hard silver soldering (brazing).
This kit provides both the flux and high silver solder to braze stainless steel, steel or copper.
It would be nice if instructions mentioned the need to clean the surfaces to be brazed first by sanding and than by wiping with acetone.
For my use a package with 5 ounces of silver solder would be better than this one ounce package. (The bottle of flux is large enough for over 10 ounces of solder.)
Pros: Sturdy, Durable
Cons: No Instructions, small package (5 oz would be better)
