No, I do not recommend this product.
PURCHASED A DEK 7550 EL PRO FEB 09. UNIT HAS ABOUT 2 HOURS OF RUN TIME ON IT. PUT STYBIL IN FUEL FOR LONG TERM STORAGE. STARTED ABOUT EVERY 3 MONTHS. MOTOR STARTED SURGING. HAD TO TAKE TO REPAIR SHOP. AFTER SEVERAL E MAILS TO COMPANY FOUND OUT THAT THE CARBORATOR IS CONSIDERED A MAINTENANCE ITEM AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRENTY. THE REPAIR SHOP TRIED TO CLEAN THE CARBORATOR WITH NO SUCCESS. HAD TO REPLACE THE CARBORATOR. DEK DOES NOT HAVE OR WILL NOT PROVIDE A REPAIR MANUAL FOR THIS PIECE OF EQUIPMENT SO YOU HAVE TO RELY ON A REPAIR SHOP. WELL AFTER 2 TRIPS (150 MILES EACH) AND $180 LATER UNIT IS BACK HOME. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER PIECE OF DEK EQUIPMENT.

No, I do not recommend this product.
After removing generator from box I discovered battery was dead and would not take a charge. The hot side stud on starter solenoid was cross threaded causing the hot cable from the battery to be loose, also the recoil starter assembly was defective, rope would not return into assem-bly,after several weeks all issues were resolved.I believe this is the last large item I will ever order online. There needs to be better quality control on this product, be- cause this product is to heavy and bulky to just pick up and deliver to a repair shop, besides it should be in working order when received.

I had a problem with my generac right at the end of a hurricane (easily fixed though). So I decided to buy another one. Did allot of research and settled on this. It arrived with a defective battery. Called CS and they registered it for me and FedEx'ed a battery the same day. Anyhow, I started it by hand and it ran fine.
About a month later I started it, ran great but made no electric. I looked it all over with a friend but coudn't find the problem. Called CS and the girl told me to check the wiring to the capacitor. I'm a moron when it comes to electronics and I just couldn't find it so she emailed me literature with PICTURES. A lead had come loose in shipping. Started it up and ran my house for 8 hours flawlessly.
Like I said love it. Have used it several time since then. It is well made fo quality materials. CS great. It is about half as loud as my generac. The exhaust tube is 3/4" and I was easily able to make an exhaust pipe out of electrical conduit (professional looking job) to vent it outside of my garage. With the doors closed it sounds about like a small gas powered model airplane except a little muffled and not so sharp.
Bought a Deltran battery tender for $30 so I don't have to worry about the battery going dead.
Worth every penny. The end
