My wife searched all the grout colors and wanted "butter" but it wasn't in stock. I decided to go with sandstone (it is really hard to pick because the differences in shades are very faint/slight). It came out very nice and clean!

I used this grout with the 12 x 12 Ceramica self-stick tiles on concrete; this was my first grouting experience and it was very easy; used a rubber float and then wiped away the excess immediately because it dried quickly on the Ceramica tiles; would definitely use again.

looks great easy to clean if you wipe it off with a sponge after about 5 minutes. then with a clean sponge wipe over it gently again. It will be slightly sticky at first but will get better as it dries completely.

This product was easy to use and a nice value for a small job. I had to repair four broken tiles (12x12) and after cleaning the grout lines I was worried that I wouldn't be able to match the previous grout. When I did the job three years ago, I bought the big bag and mixed it myself. I was surprised that the premixed matched really well. The small amount saved me money and the mess of storing and excess if I had to but the big bag.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I mainly wanted to write this review to reiterate what a previous reviewer said about not waiting to sponge. You need to pack and smooth the joints and start sponging immediatly with this or you will spend hours trying to clean it off of the tile, and it dries rock hard. If you use this technique the product works great and you will love the results.
Pros: Very Adhesive, High Quality of Material, Looks Great
Cons: hard to remove from tile face once dried

I had a small backsplash (new install) that I needed to grout and thought I would save a little time and a few bucks by going with the premixed grout. This was a horrible mistake. First, the grout is sanded, even though there is absolutely no mention of it being sanded, which should mean it is not sanded!!! Second, it goes on with nearly the consistency of water. I stirred it up but it didn't really help. Before I could spread it nearly all the grout had fallen off my float. As soft and runny as it is, you can't even really pick it up off of a flat surface. 80% of the grout ended up in clumps on my countertop. Third, it seems to dry in a couple of minutes. Five minutes after application, I was scrubbing hard with a wet sponge trying to remove the excess. Seriously, this grout induces a lot of swearing. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews before I purchased, and a few others complained it was cracked within a week. Pay the few extra bucks and buy legitimate grout and mix it yourself. It's worth the hassle.
Cons: Difficult to Install, sanded yet does not claim to be, too soft to apply
No, I do not recommend this product.

I grouted a 20 sq foot backsplash. After heeding the advice of other reviews, I grouted in 3 sq foot sections. I sponged immediately after grouting that 3 ft section. And it's true, you need to sponge right after to get it off the tile or it will be really hard to get off. For the most part, the grout worked pretty good...it is a little runny, but you learn to deal with it. you end up using more/wasting more because it's runny. I used 1 full qt + about 1/3 of a 2nd quart. By looking at the bucket, I should have been able to get all 20 sq ft out of the 1 bucket...so you need about double. This is more expensive, but you don't have to mix it and to me that's worth the trade off. Grout looks great and overall I'm very happy. My wife is really happy I didn't have to make a mess mixing the grout. By the way, I used the haystack color.
Pros: Easy to Install, Looks Great, Easy to Clean, Effective, no mixing
Cons: dries quickly, little runny
Yes, I recommend this product.

I used the Alabaster SimpleGrout for a backsplash project, my first ever tile/grout project. I purchased all the materials 9 months earlier but never got around to it until this week. I had the mosaic tiles up (used SimpleMat) and was about to start... then decided to go look up some reviews and others' experiences with the stuff. Glad I did.
First off, I was a little worried about the premix grout being close to a year old. Turns out that was no problem as the consistency was good, not runny like others have said. I mixed it up a bit and actually kept adding a few drops of water as I went along to make it perfect to work with.
I was not happy it had sand in it but thanks to heads up in the reviews I new what to expect. The mesh mosaic 1 x 3 mixed glass and stone pieces only had 1/16-1/8 gaps and I figured sand would make it hard to work into small crevices. I was ready to go, on a timeline to finish and was afraid I couldn't return it anyway after all this time, so I just went with it.
I took other reviewer's advice and worked small areas at a time and sponged it after a few minutes, which was important as the grout dried a lot quicker on the stone pieces compared to much more working time with the glass ones. And the sand did make it hard to force grout into the small gaps. I think it ended up working pretty well, but I'm still concerned it didn't get forced all the way back consistently into all the crevices. I definitely would have preferred non-sanded, smooth grout.(Hey, Custom Building Products, are you getting the hint that customers want to know exactly what they are buying? Label it "Premixed SANDED Grout." )
The finished job looks great and it was quick to apply because I knew the tips beforehand. The color is the off-white I expected. It's not dark like others have said or brownish. (I'm wondering if the "not white" bright white others complained about was manufacturer mislabeled Alabaster?) The remaining dried haze was somewhat difficult to remove from all the small pieces but doable.
There is something to be said for just removing a lid and immediately applying grout to a tile job. I guess time will tell if the sanded grout filled into all the gaps correctly.
Pros: Looks Great
Yes, I recommend this product.

Ask me how I know that. This was my 1st tile job. I watched many video's on tiling and grouting, they ALL say to wait 10-15 minutes before you start sponging. WRONG, not with this stuff. If you wait at all, good luck getting it off the tile. Grout looks good, time will tell on how it holds up. Also, no sealer is needed says the company via email. "it will not absorb into it."
Pros: Looks Great
Cons: Hard to Remove, Difficult to Clean
Yes, I recommend this product.

I used this to regrout a broken soap dish in the bath after replacing the soap dish. It was easy to apply and smoothen out. Just follow the instruction using a wet sponge to smooth it out. The instruction says immediately but waiting a few minutes before removing the excess did a good job for me. This product is best used as a grout, not really as a stand alone tile adhesive. Since using it for the first time, I have used all around the bathroom filing holes in the grout and now looking forward to using it to regrout my kitchen wall and floor tiles. I wish I had known of this product sooner than now.

Like others said this has sand in it and the container did not say that. It goes on as a light gray color but it is lightening up to a nice white as it dries. I regrouted my shower with this and surprisingly it was pretty simple with this product. I scored up the existing grout using a grout removal tool, applied this stuff with a rubber float, waited about 5-10 minutes then used the sponge on it. Cleaned up nicely, and the grout lines look nice and new. If i had to do it again, i would not use sanded grout, but i am happy with how it looks for now.
Pros: Easy to Install, Looks Great, Easy to Clean
Cons: is sanded but does not say this on container

I had to replace one tile in my shower and I bought the bright white color to grout it because that's the color of the existing grout in the shower. Well, as others have pointed out, it is not even close to white, let alone "bright white," it is GRAY, plain and simple. Also, beware that it is sanded even though it doesn't say it. The grout was ridculously hard to work with and will not stay on the float, I ended up having to mostly use my fingers. The tile I replaced stands out like crazy due to the different grout color and the rough sand texture.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This was my first tiling job and I used this on a piece of furniture, making a tile top table with 2" tiles. It worked great! It was so easy to use. It is VERY stain resistant. I would say stain PROOF since even the paint I used on the trim didn't penetrate it. Do NOT get this on any wood you plan to paint, though. I learned the hard way it's impossible to paint over AND impossible to sand off! When they say stain resistant they mean it! Also, I had a hard time removing all the "film" left behind after the sponging step. But this was due only to my inexperience. There was enough product to do two end tables. I did my second table two weeks after the first, and the grout had started to dry out in the container. Still useable but it wouldn't have stayed "fresh" much longer. It may be a little pricey, but for a small job like a piece of furniture, it's well worth it.
Pros: High Quality of Material, Sturdy, Easy to Install, Looks Great, Looks High End
Yes, I recommend this product.
