My wife likes a fan in the bedroom and I don't so...about five years ago, she had bought a Mr. Zippy fan for her nightstand.
What I like about it is that it is small enough so she can direct the fan mainly on her and it doesn't bother me because it isn't blowing in my face.
I like to have a little fun with the fan so every morning that i get up and get ready before her, I like to stick one finger in the fan blades, for just a few seconds (they are a super strong cloth type, but safe) and it makes a flapping noise and that alerts her that I want a kiss before leaving for work. With her eye's closed, she smiles and I get a kiss.
I like to think i got her trained in, but she says she has me trained in... we laugh!

Has two choices of speed, both strong, and a long cord, so it's portable. Not annoyingly loud. I think I save energy by using this rather than my ceiling fan at night, and the breeze is easy to direct any way you may wish. Appealing colors; I have yellow and sent my daughter a red one.

I use this fan on my desk, with all of the electronic equipment it tends to get stuffy. I have cats and they are always sticking their paws in it but i don't have to worry because the cloth blades do no harm! Great circulation for any place in the house, quiet.
