Engineered for performance, value and extreme reliability, Power Pet doors are motor driven and activated by a tiny ultrasonic collar. Other electronic pet doors merely unlock a hinged panel, requiring your pet to push it open. Thats something that a lot of pets dont like to do. Patented Power Pet doors open completely under there own power. They feature a translucent door panel made of a new super-strength, bulletproof resin. When your pet approaches, the air-tight panel quickly and quietly powers upward disappearing into the stylish housing. Because the panel moves up and down and does not swing out, it can mounted in hermetically sealed grooves for air-tight closure. This mounting arrangement makes it impossible for an intruder to kick it out. The result is the most secure pet door against intruders and stray animals. Your pets are empowered to come and go as they please while their animal friends are politely asked to stay out. Panel Size: 12-¼ x 16 in. for pets up to 100 lbs.

I have purchased 3 of this company's electronic pet doors and unfortunately have mixed reviews. While I have had very little problems with the doors themselves, the collars have quite a few issues. We have a large and medium door which we placed into the wall and a medium one for the patio slider, and as I said have had no problems with the doors. The collars, however, are a different story! They are flimsy and fall apart easily. You must buy the waterproof ones if you dog is going to splash through puddles or run in snow, or God Forbid, go for a swim!!! The batteries are expensive and are not easy to replace and the plastic housing breaks easily. This company's customer service leaves much to be desired as well. When I called once with issues and questions related to how to adjust the sensitivity to make the door work better, the customer service rep was curt and rude and treated me like a second grader. When my out- dated collars ceased to work and I was unable to produce my purchase order number, they were unable to help me. So, if you buy from this company, be sure you keep all receipts in a handy place---you will be needing them! They do not keep records of any purchases past the one year warranty period. What about keeping in touch with the clients who make purchases to let us know about new products and upgrades we may be interested in? Marketing 101.

The door seem to be a pretty good unit and not to tough to install. Now the collars are junk, they come apart all the time and you will spend all your time searching for them in your yard. The battery in them is quite expensive.
Pros: Easy to Install
Cons: Quality, remotes fall apart

My dog adapted easily and made a game of it.
Went through several times; I think for the fun of it.
The unit arrived in good order and quickly.
Having a problem with the locket. The snap in the locket had to be secured with a piece of tape. Difficult to get to speak to a rep. You must use email if you have a complaint or you want to discuss an issue.

The door itself is wonderful, but when the collar doesn't work it becomes irrelevant. It falls apart, batteries don't always work or fix it and it causes a lot of trouble for both my dogs and for me.
Pros: Easy to Install, Fits in Various Rooms, Good Size & Fit

This product would be great if it worked for more than 3 months. After 3 months the sensors on the door itself stop working and my dogs got locked outside or they couldn't get outside so they went to the bathroom on my floor. This door was amazing at first and turned into a complete nightmare. I suggest you wait until there is a better made one in the future.

I was in a crunch and needed to get my dog set up with a way to go in and out of the house on her own--this is after she had literally been at my feet for the past 6 years! Started installing the door the afternoon before I needed everything to be in place for the next day (door installed AND the dog knowing how to use it). Had a few challenges--not product related but rather installing the pet door into a raised-panel door. Except for some adjustments for the raised panels, it was pretty easy getting the door installed. (Being a woman, the biggest challenge was getting the screws into the wood. I ended up substituting a lag bolt for one of the screws so I could ratchet it in. (I would love to work with product designers/engineers as they design do-it-yourself products so they can be made more woman-installer friendly!)
Prior to ordering the door, I read reviews online and I was a little concerned the noise the door made opening and closing would scare my dog. So after putting the collar on my dog, I got out her treats. As she triggered the dog door by walking by it, she didn't even react to the sound as she was too excited to get her treats! When she got close to the door and it opened, I threw a treat outside and she quickly went out after it. While gobbling down the treat, the door closed behind her. She then quickly approached the door eager to figure out how to come back in. The door opened and in she came ready for more treats. Everything has been great ever since. Highly recommend this pet door!

Awesome! My dog can go in & out without me worrying some other animal is going to follow. I love the appearance, smooth lines. I also like the added feature of being able to lock it when I'm out if town. Well worth the money!

I recently removed this pet door because the ultrasonic tags cannot get wet or even moist without failing. Over the 3 years we had this door we bought maybe 10 tags at $35 each. If your dog is even slightly active, just doing something like running through wet grass could cause the tags to fail. We now have a door with magnetic tags that is reliable - it cost more initially, but will save big $$ over the years when you don't have to buy tag after ultrasonic tag.

A major problem for me is that the outside sensor malfunctioned after about two weeks of use and my dog was locked outside. The malfunction outweights all the other benefits for me.

Love this product for our 46 lb dog. It took him awhile to feel comfortable with it-treats on the other side helped. It is burglar and critter proof-which worried me about a conventional dog door. Also, our cats cannot escape through the door. Very glad we purchased the product.

I had a regular doggie door, but my cat would go outside, jump the fence and --- well who knows what he was doing. So far the dog goes in and out and the cat stays in. It was very easy to install. The instructions say the hardest part is cutting the hole-- and it was. The door screwed on just fine--no problems--just like on the youtube video. The only problem -- and it is a problem with the dog, not the door--is the dog likes to stand in front of the door and look outside with the door open. I'm glad I got it.

I have 2 dogs that constantly go in and out of the house. My ability to train dogs is a different story. The power pet electric dog is INCREDIBLE! I had Home Depot install a new back door (the original door had a window built into it) and the pet door. They showed up on time and did a great job. It took about two days for my dogs to get used to the noise that the pet door motor makes. After a week the dogs are so used to the electric door they can run at the door and time their speed so by the time they get to the door the door is fully open. If you have dogs that live in the house BUY THIS PET DOOR.

I llike the feature that allows me to lock the dog door at night. Allof the features are easy to read and use. I have two dogs. The small one always wants to be first through the door, and the large one (Golden Retriever) always follows before the dog door closes.

My old incontinent dog uses this regularly! No longer am I constantly cleaning up and the dog seems to have relaxed as well! However, my previously indoor only cats now go in and out with him. Fortunately, they've stayed close to home! The collar unit is easily broken and this door's comfortable maximum ssize is about 70-85 lbs. iInstallation was simple! Delivery was fast & easy!

I have a 2yr old 70lb Golden Retriever who LOVES this door. I am away during the day sometimes 12 hours and she uses it all day long. It took her about 2 weeks to learn it was ok to go in and out whenever she wants to. I started off with the highest setting so the door would open when she stood 10 ft away. Now she knows to go to the door and almost put her nose on the glass to open it. Definetly worth the money and extra security.

Very happy with this electronic dog door. My wife and I looked at several at Home Depot and found that this was the only one that actually opens and closes by itself. We were a little worried about the reliability of such a hi tech idea. The door as lived up to its claims and more. It is well made and has not had a single glitch in over a year. It is as well sealed as they advertise. We get a lot of blowing sand as we live next to the beach. Not a grain has made it past this door, even on very windy days. The product has relieved us of the task of having to let the dog in and out day and night. Also, the dog really loves it!

I wish I had one 10 years ago! My dogs love the freedom while we are away, and we no longer get up and down to let them in and out. My brother requested a human version so he would no longer bother with closing the door behind him.

Doggie Doors Have Come A Long Way

Generally, this is a good idea and we're happy with the product and performance overall, but this is after you've achieved just the right balance of tension on the mounting screws. If it's not perfect the door will not go down properly in the track. It's not what I call a "plug and play" door. The noise of the motor is something to get used to as well. It's not horrible but it's not quiet either. The best part is, it does not allow unwanted creatures from coming inside, unlike the conventional doggie door. It took some coaching to get our dog to go through it [he wasn't too sure about the automatic door opening and closing business], but within a couple of days he was using it with no problems.
