Home Depot consistently stands behind its products and installers. It will match any written price offer. Unlike a contractor who may be a no-show, they come when they say they will, they are creative and efficient installers. Most of all, Home Depot is big enough not to fail, so when they say they will get it right, they always do. Highest quality materials and service.
No help on aisle at store on two separate visits. Studied product selection and accessories on own to educate myself on potential needs for project. Sought assistance to learn about installation help. When installer arrived, he could not start because I did not have all the materials needed. Installer told me what to buy and that's when I returned to the store; knowing only then what I needed.

Review 4 for Cooktop Installation
from Falmouth, mA
On par with the rest of my lackluster Home Depot experience.
The installers did a great job of making sure the door on the fridge opened the right way, and got the appliance inside and in place without issue. However, I asked the installers if there was a way to keep the fridge from rolling forward when I opened the doors on the appliance. The fridge sits on a stone tiled floor, and as a result, rolled whenever I opened the door. They said "no." And that I would "need to find a way to block the wheels from rolling." The installers did not tell me I could use the feet under the fridge to lock the appliance in place. Nor did they make any attempt to fix the issue. I regret that I tipped them when I realized how easy it would have been for them to take five minutes out of their schedule to fix it and complete the installation properly.

Response from Home DepotBy Robert G, Customer Care, August 30, 2013
Hi there. We're sorry to hear that the installers did not assist you with locking the wheels. We will be sure to share your feedback. We do appreciate your buisness and thank you for your post.
The microwave looks wonderful and was installed as promised. However, when installer flipped the breakers on and off he shorted out my fridge and I had to pay to have that repaired in addition to the install charges. Also, installer left a huge mess on my stove; dust, etc, from installing my microwave. Will never use home depot installs again and will never recommend it

The installer provided a great installation. He knew what he was doing, was efficient, friendly and professional. We are very happy with our new ceiling can and will use Home Depot installation again and will recommend the service to family and friends.
need to have better overall coordination between online ordering, coordination of installation services with local store, delivery of product, installation of product. I had to work with a total of five different entities to get my issue resolved.
I made the appt on a Sunday for service on Wednesday morning. The technician never showed up and I had to keep calling to get updates. Thursday was a holiday, and the phone support people said that they'd put me "first" on Friday's list. Somehow that didn't get to the dispatcher, and the service guy didn't arrive until 3 pm on Friday. However, once he got there, he was great- very professional, friendly and helpful. At one point he needed a second pair of hands, and was able to get dispatch to send him someone very quickly. In short, I was unhappy with the scheduling and delays, but very happy with the actual service.
Overall very satisfied. Installation met all expectations, and the product is great. Customer service over the phone setting up the installation was mediocre. Guy on the phone was having a bad day or something. Tried to sell me off getting the installation from them. Weird.
We purchased the ceiling fan from another vendor but used Home Depot's contractor for the install.
Pros: The service technician was very friendly.
Cons: Initial consult, When appt was made, advised that we live in a 2 story home with high ceilings. Appt day, Service tech did not have ladder high enough to reach the ceiling. Install day, Light switch wiring was not done properly which resulted in fan/light not turning on. Service tech had to come back to correct. Later found that code used for the receiver is same as in our bedroom. When light/fan turned on in one room, it comes on in the other unless one is turned off at the wall switch. (VERY INCONVIENENT).
Too many mistakes for the amount of money we paid for the install.
Installers would not hook up dishwasher, in fact didn't even remove from box. would not take away old dishwasher (it is still on premises) refrigerator dented, front door sill damaged by moving in refrigerator, countertop damaged when removing old cooktop, no water hookup for icemaker on hand so we had to make a trip to HD to buy one, installer reluctant to wait until we could provide water hose as they had more jobs to do that day. It took us several days to get everything hooked up. We had to pay our own plumber, electricaian and handyman to complete the job. I will not use Home Depot for install again. Poor follow up by in-store consultant as well.
I had three outdoor lights installed and the entire process went smoothly. I was called to set up the appointment promptly. I was called before they came out to install and showed up on time. Very Nice crew and they did a great job. Thank you,

Smooth installation with courteous and efficient electrician.
Electrician showed up on time and didn't waste time getting started. When an issue came up with a missing part needed to complete installation, electrician waited patiently for me to locate the necessary part. Installation completed after that flawlessly.

Installation of ice maker and range - very pleased
What a disaster! Long story short: Installer said he couldn't install unit, I spent 4+ hours on the phone and had to wait 4 days to get someone out for fairly easy install. I learned that HomeDepot.com, it's third party installers, phone channels, online support and individual stores have no knowledge of what the others are doing. Couldn't have gone worse.

Hi my name is Sheronda and I'm with Home Depot Customer Care. I’m sorry to hear about the problems with your dishwasher installation. We have documented your feedback and your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate teams. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at Teamsocial@homedepot.com. Thank you!
The electrician spent three times longer doing paperwork than he did actually installing the stove top burner. We paid $300 for a job that took about 20 minutes to actually do. The job was easy and done well. Too much money for this job. It was different from a great recent Home depot door installation, where we did get our money's worth. So use HD for doors labor and not an easy electrician's job.

Wonderful installers and very responsive to our requests.
Our double wall oven broke and we bought a new one at Home Depot, the installers came out to measure very quickly and came to install on a Saturday afternoon when our oven was delivered. Great Service.
