The Weber Performer Charcoal Grill is one of Weber's most versatile grills. It features a Touch-N-Go gas ignition system that ignites charcoal briquets with the push of a button. Also, the classic porcelain-enameled bowl and lid with a One-Touch Cleaning system and high capacity ash catcher that makes clean up hassle free. Storage options are plentiful with the CharBin storage container which protects your charcoal from the elements and the built-in Thermoset work table that provides a great work surface for preparing your next grilled masterpiece. Also features a wire bottom shelf, no-rust aluminum vent and a glass-reinforced nylon handle.

Nobody does it better than Weber! This is the third Weber grill we've owned. The addition of the gas charcoal starter was genious. (Yeah, no more briquette starter can!) The table area is large enough to be useful without making the unit too cumbersome to move around. The lid holder is handy but making it deeper would have opened the grill area more for better accessability.

We have had our grill for 10+ years and it still works great except for the ignition which hasn't worked for about 3yrs. We just use one of the long butane lighters. When we purchased back then it came with a small 5lb gas tank which is great and we only have to fill about twice a year and it is only about $5 to fill, now they have the small butane tanks which would be good as you could keep a spare. 5lb tanks you can,t get a gauge to fit so you don,t know when you are low. Ours sits out all winter long and still looks great after 10 years. If you are charcoal griller this is the grill for you.
Charcoal bin holds 20lbs and is water tight in any weather even after all these years.

Previously I was always opposed to using propane when grilling - it seemed like a hassle (exchanging propane tanks, etc) plus we like the charcoal taste. This grill is perfect because you rarely have to buy new tanks and you still get to use charcoal. I use it ALL the time.

Just got this grill this weekend and used it twice.Grill is high quality but I think a little high priced. I bought a hose adapter to use with my 20# tank (don't bother it will not work with this grill) even called Weber and they told me it was not for this grill.The small green 16.4 oz canister should last a long time anyway as five minutes is all you need to get the coals fired up! I also bought the cover for this grill, very high quality cover. Overall I am very happy to be using a Charcoal grill again and Weber(made in USA) is king.

Great product, but don't totally care for the Performance Grill
cover I purchased locally. It should be longer, so it covers
more of the bottom. I keep the grill on our deck all year long
...we use the grill year around... so wish the cover protected

Purchased this grill last week on sale...best price I have seen it advertised for at $279.
Assembly instructions have no words, for the most part just drawings. Pay attention to the color of bolts you use accordingly. Missing some washers, but otherwise, pretty easy.
Cooking: I bought a pizza oven kit (kettle pizza) for this and fired it up with some hardwood. Great pizza.
Next night, BBQ chicken, turned out great. Time will tell on how long everything will last. It will get hard use, but for now I am satisfied. Gas works perfectly.

The grill cover was damaged; however, I called Weber and I had a replacement cover within 48 hours! Product is made very well, would recommend this grill to anyone.

We switched from a gas barbeque and are so happy with the Weber charcoal grill. It is easy to light, does not take up much space and has a very roomy grilling surface. Best buy we made in 2011. It was extremely easy to put together. My husband put it together (by himself) in two hours. I would highly recommend this grill to anybody.

bought this grill for my husband for xmas, he said it was easy to assembled. used it for the first time new years eve, takes a little time to get used to, we have a weber propane grill which is great! charcoal cooking isn't as quick and easy but the food sure tastes great.

This was the best purchase I ever made. My son received one for his birthday & he said it was the greatest Grill he ever cooked on. I purchased one & just love barbecuing on it. It is so easy to light and it grills everything from pizza to turkey fantastically!

Service from HD was great. However, I have some issues with the grill.
*Has ability to use gas to light charcoal but no instructions or information about this in the manual.
*Also no information from the Weber website or any reference to this option.
Seems like something as important as using propane would be included in both operating instructions & safety warnings. All other info was very well written & was of the high quality expected from Weber.

Our old Weber was soldiering along okay, (if you allow for squirrel nibbles on the handles), but I was looking for a birthday gift for my husband, and this just seemed like the coolest thing. We really prefer charcoal grilling, but this grill adds the small, but not insignificant, feature of the gas starter. Neat-o! It's really nice not to have to mess with a chimney to start the fire. You leave the gas on for 5 minutes to start the coals, then turn it off. (We have used the grill maybe 10 times so far and are still using the original small canister of propane). The under-table storage space for coal is really nice too. The large table area is a nice improvement over our old Weber set-up. We've been grilling a fair amount, and I still am tickled with this idea and how well it works. Nice work, Weber Guys!

Have had the Weber grill for several months now. My husband is a chef and was a little hesitant about this grill until he starting using it. Easy start without lighter fluid and just as easy to replace the propane. We were a little unsure since the grill was a little pricey with the table attached but very glad we went with this model. Love the blue color too. Definately recommend this one!!

This grill replaced my old Performer Grill without the gas starter. Its the same great Weber grill with a much easier method of lighting charcoal without chemicals, I use a chimney for even faster lighting.

Admittedly, this is my first charcoal grill, and I went all out in getting Weber's top-of-the-line model. Assembly wasn't at all difficult. My favorite feature is the propane start, so that you don't need lighter fluid. You attach a small propane cylinder, and the grill has a built in torch and auto-ignition button. The torch heats the charcoal for about 5 minutes and then you shut off the gas. I usually wait about 20-25 minutes to let the charcoal get hot. The 22.5" size is ideal for families. Temperature is controlled with the air vents under and on top of the grill, that will take some practice for you to get used to. Clean-up is quite easy; The ash falls into a pot that detaches from the grill for easy disposal. I've tried turning the grill into a smoker with Weber hickory wood chips that also worked out great. I am very happy with this grill, and after one summer with it, I'm sure it is going to last for a long time. I'd also recommend buying the custom grill cover to protect your grill from the elements.

you need to have a very large tank of gastric hook up
